Early one morning in the Greater Kruger, we discovered a peaceful group of rhinos
resting in the mud patch they made. With one adorable youngster nestled safely among the
adults, the family rested deeply. A rare and heartwarming moment that showed just how relaxed
they were. White rhinos often sleep in small groups for protection and comfort, especially
during the cooler early morning hours after a night of grazing. Their massive bodies rose and
fell with slow rhythmic breathing as they enjoyed the cool mud. It was such a gentle,
touching glimpse into the social and peaceful side of these magnificent giants.
