단편영화 〈단란한 식탁〉(2026)

This is an internal company matter. Why did you bring a lawyer? The company's going out of business. Why wouldn't I bring a lawyer? You think I'm stupid? I have no choice. I'm in trouble myself. Please settle my share capital and return my investment. Me too. I'm out. When my big brother accepted you as shareholders, do you remember the way you acted? And now that the company's hit a rough patch, you want out? Fine! Take your money and get lost! What are you yelling at? You think being louder makes you right? If the company's struggling, that's Qiang's problem What does his problem have to do with me? What's this trash coming out of your mouth! Watch your tone! Do you even understand what loyalty means? We don't need to suffer with you. Didn't they teach you basic decency in school? Who cares. You ingrate. This is literally kicking someone when they're down. Yeah, that's right. No one asked for your opinion! Alright. Enough. Let's keep this civil. Wang, we've worked together for so many years. Even if the business ends, that history still means something. Don't worry. All shares and capital will be refunded in full. That's how it should be. Let me make one thing clear. If it weren't for my sister-in-law, I'll kill you. Try it. That's enough. Don't push your luck. Here's my card. From now on, I'll be the one to handle everything. This is the voluntary shareholder withdrawal agreement. Please sign it as soon as possible. Let's go. Get out. Get out of my sight. What a joke. What gives them the nerve to… What's this… The Taste of Homecoming Leave if you want. Withdraw if you want. Sister-in-law, I'm telling you. Those people were never going to stay loyal. They're just a pack of wolves! Feed them all you want, it's never enough. But, Sister-in-law, if we land the Lida contract, we don't have to deal with these losers anymore. That's enough, Xiaoyong. Calm down, okay? Dahai, come here. You saw it, right? That's human nature. Cold. Selfish. Exactly. Lanlan, didn't you visit Lida? What's the status? Yeah, we went. Couldn't even meet the right people. We tried more times than I can count. Sister-in-law. Didn't you meet Lida's Assistant Chen? Your brother and I spoke to her once. Secretary Chen. Mr. Zhao. So… Any update on our proposal? We'll get back to you. We have another meeting. Of course. Go ahead. Look at the number of bidders. Our chances aren't good. Yeah… After that, we never heard back. Lida is the industry leader. Competition is fierce. We're not really confident. You see, this is what broke our brother. If we can win that contract… That's all talk. Reality is, we're not able to close the deal. Sister-in-law's even putting the house up for sale. How long has the listing been up? The agent's come by several times already. Sister-in-law, how about after we sell the house, we use the money to buy connections? There's no way we can't get it done. It's not that simple. We can talk about it here, but in front of your brother, don't mention this, okay? Alright. I'll go upstairs and check on him. Zhao, you're still running a fever. Try not to overthink. You need to pull yourself together. Yeah… How can I not be thinking? Forget Lida for a second, guess who I remembered? Who? Feng Shaoning. Shaoning. Keep your chin up. Everyone goes through tough times. You know why I called you here today? These few days, you've been going around borrowing money. You think I don't know? If you're in trouble, why don't you ask me for help? Here's two million. Take it. Brother Qiang, two million is too much. I might not be able to pay it back. Shaoning, just take it. When your big brother heard you needed money, he prepared two million without a word. We care about you. Yeah. If Brother Qiang tells you to take it, then take it. Right. Forget about whether you can pay it back. Starting a business from scratch is difficult. This card... Take it. Big brother, Sister-in-law, I won't let you down. Thank you! Get up. Shaoning, get up. Shaoning, work hard. See, after that we never heard from him again. Some people… you really can't figure them out. Alright. You need rest. Look at everything that's happened to our family lately. It's so frustrating. Who knows when it'll end. Stop it. Watch what you say. Don't upset big brother. Fine. You're right. This is big brother's house. Zhuzi? What are you doing here? Out of the way. Sister-in-law! Sister-in-law! Hey, Sister-in-law. Zhuzi you're here? Sister-in-law, This is... This is my new girlfriend, Xiaomei. Hello. Hi. Zhuzi. Yeah. What brings you here? Sister-in-law, give me fifty thousand. Fifty thousand? For what? We're getting married, so we need to renovate. Right, right. Zhuzi, Let me tell you. Our company's in trouble now. Fifty thousand… I don't have that kind of money. Come on, Sister-in-law. Fifty thousand was like nothing to big brother. Even a hundred thousand was pocket change. Who said a hundred thousand was pocket change? Zhuzi, Does big brother owe you? You borrow, borrow and keep borrowing. Like a vampire. I'm talking to Sister-in-law. What's it got to do with you? Xiaoyong, I've never thought much of you. Great. Then get out! There's nothing to borrow. I'm not leaving. What're you going to do? Enough. Sister-in-law is still here. It's almost Chinese New Year. Why's a family fighting? Yeah. Let's all calm down. Zhuzi, wait for me. Come on. Don't stoop to his level. Yeah, grow up. Sister-in-law, why are you giving him money? Zhuzi, I can only give you two thousand right now. Take this for now. They're treating us like beggars. Yeah, you think we're beggars? Two thousand isn't money? If you don't want it, forget it. Put it away, Sister-in-law. Who said I don't want it? Every little bit counts. How pathetic. Let's go, Xiaomei. Get out. I'm warning you. Don't come back. Fine. I won't. Sister-in-law, I just spoke with Anjia Realty's Ms. Qi again. I also reviewed this contract. As for the specifics, let her explain to you. Okay. Mrs. Zhao, This is our contract. Take a look. As you know, the global economy is in a down cycle right now. You listed the house for twelve million. Realistically, it'll sell for eight. What? That big of a drop? Yeah. Look at all the high-end renovation. The location is also good. Can't we push it higher? This is the current market. We've done everything we can. As you know, property prices in Shenzhen have collapsed. And it's not only Shenzhen. Other places have it worse. Some houses have dropped by half and still can't sell. Yeah, you're lucky if you're able to sell now. If you wait, it'll get even worse. Four million less! There's no end to this drop. We won't sell. Change the broker. Xiaoyong, stop losing your temper all the time. If we don't sell, how will we survive? Alright. Leave this matter to me. Dahai. Yeah. You and Xiaoyong go to the next room first. Okay. Sister-in-law, we got quotations from multiple realtors. Ms. Qi's is the highest, and we're well-aware of their character. Changing realtors all of a sudden may not work out. There's no guarantee that we can sell for more. Besides, the timing… I know. I have trust in you. My decision is that the house is still for sale. Then Mrs. Zhao, when is it convenient for you to get this sales contract signed. Sure, but my husband isn't feeling well recently. When he gets better, we'll go to your company to sign. We understand your situation. Please contact me at your convenience. Okay. Then we'll get going first. Okay. Please take care. Sister-in-law, I'll see them off. Thanks. Let's go. Xu, Yes, Chairman. After you drop me off, you can return. Then I'll come pick you up later. No, it's fine. Here, Zhao. Drink some water. How're you feeling? Don't think about so many things. When we started our business, didn't we overcome all kinds of ups and downs? I get it, but I just can't let it go. Health is the most important. Rest well, okay? How's my car? Not bad, right? It's great. Did something happen to you? Otherwise you wouldn't sell it. Yeah. I need cash urgently. Here are two spare keys. Take them. Deal. The money's already transferred. Okay. I'm driving away with the car. Sure. My colleague is waiting for me. Okay. Wait, Xiaoyong. These are your two favourite cars. You're selling them just like that? I like them, but I need to do it. Our big brother is in trouble. How can I not help out? Manager Liu, I have a Range Rover. Give me an estimate. I'm selling too. Dahai, don't push yourself. Have you thought this through? Wait. Honey, you see Xiaoyong has sold both cars. Our car… Dahai. Yeah. I've known you for so long. I just realized that you have this righteous side. Then Honey, our car… Sell it. Alright! Manager Liu, go take it for a spin. Okay. Wait. Sister-in-law. Dahai, we can't sell this car. It has to be sold. Just listen to me. Sorry, Manager Liu. Please return the car keys to me. We are not selling this car. No problem. Then I'll get going. Sure, see you later. Take care. Xiaoyong. Sister-in-law. You love cars more than anything. And you sold your two favourite cars just like that. Out with the old, in with the new, right? And Dahai. This is your only car. What will you drive if you sell it? It's fine. It's so easy to get a ride now, right? Yeah. I know. When it really matters, it's family that comes through. So, Sister-in-law, don't stop me. This car's got to go. Let's talk about it later. I'll go take a look. Feng Shaoning? Dahai. What are you doing here? I came to see big brother. Xiaoyong, come here, quick. Feng Shaoning… Xiaoyong. You! My brother lent you two million. Then you disappeared for five years. Why did you show up now? You here to borrow more money!? No. Let go of me. Listen to me. Don't give me that. You shameless punk. How dare you try to borrow money again? Xiaoyong, let go first. I'm not here to borrow money. Really. Stop the BS. If you're here to borrow, we don't have any. I'm not. I'm here to see big brother. I finally caught you. You're not leaving unless you repay today. Sister-in-law! They're fighting! Sister-in-law. Xiaoyong, let go. Sister-in-law, this deadbeat is back for more money. Sister-in-law, it's a misunderstanding. Shaoning, come inside. Thanks. All who come are guests. Thank you, Sister-in-law. Why did you let him in? Come and sit. Thank you. This person has no shame. Yeah. Who knows what tricks he's got up his sleeve? Right. Shaoning. Yeah. Why did you show up now? We haven't heard from you in years. Sister-in-law, these few years, I went to the south to do business. Business? Please. You disappeared for five years. Isn't he lying? If you made money, then pay it back. Yeah. Pay up. Okay, okay. Enough. Sister-in-law, I did come today to repay the money. Good. Then repay it. Sister-in-law, let him pay. Pay it. Right now. Shaoning, is that for real? Yes. Look at those shabby clothes and the two cheap pastry gifts he brought. Does he look like someone who can repay two million? Enough. Shaoning. Yeah. I'll go upstairs to get your big brother. Thank you, Sister-in-law. Listen carefully. If you upset my brother again, I won't let you go. You won't get away. Don't worry. I won't. I hope so. Slowly… Don't rush. Big brother. Brother. Slow down. Brother Qiang. Shaoning… Yeah. You're here. Sit. Everybody sit down. I'll help you over. Brother Qiang, be careful. Sit. Big brother, how have you been? I'm here to visit you. Shaoning... Where have you been all these years? Why didn't you keep in touch? It's my fault. Don't be torn about the money. If you don't have money, it's fine to not repay it. As long as you're back. How could you dismiss the money? Brother, I'm not yelling at you. I get angry when I see this guy. He's full of BS. Didn't you say you'd repay? Come on. Brother, give me your phone. Xiaoyong. Big brother. Today, I really came to repay. Just scan the code. Fine. Big brother. Look. He did pay. So what? Two million over five years. Seven percent annual interest. Pay up. Yeah. The interest is at least seven hundred thousand. I know. That's why I brought a contract. Big brother. Yeah? This is the partnership agreement with Lida Group. Here's the contract. Please take a look. Lida? How do you have this? We worked really hard for this. We couldn't even get a meeting. How did you… Stop bluffing. Big brother. Let me see it. It's so easy to fake things now. Even official stamps can be forged. Maybe he's just a big scammer. Wait. I have their company number. Let's just call to confirm. Honey, I'm not good with words. I think this contract is genuine. Sister-in-law, even if this contract is real, I think it must be a trap. We need to confirm this. Sister-in-law, don't you know Assistant Chen from Lida? Yes, I met her before. Then it's easy. We just need to make the call and ask her directly. No one answered at all. What？ Dahai, are you talking about Chen? How can you call her like that? That's the secretary to the chairperson of Lida Group. Big brother. Yeah. Let me make this call. Go ahead. You call. Do it now. Video call. Yes. Video. Okay. Call now. Let him show what he can do. Hello, Chairman Feng. Chen. Chairman. Give me that. Sister-in-law, you know Assistant Chen, right? Is this her? Hello. Hello, Assistant Chen. Hello, Mrs. Zhao. Hello. … Greetings, Assistant Chen. Who is this guy? You mean Chairman Feng? He's the Chairman of Lida Group. Chairman? Are you sure? Of course. Here. Secretary Chen, please wait a moment. Okay. Here, Zhao. Secretary Chen. Mr. and Mrs. Zhao, how are you? How are you? When we met before, you inquired about the contract. I didn't respond. Yes! It's because Chairman Feng was on a business trip. The group needed his final approval. He returned yesterday and was briefed about the situation. He instructed us to finalize everything right away so that he can personally deliver the contract today. You may sign it now. That's wonderful. Wow. Big brother, do you believe it now? Yeah. Xiaoyong, our contract is finally secured. He's really the Chairman. Feng Shaoning really is the chairman. Chairman Feng. Sincere apologies for our behaviour just now. Please forgive us. It's alright. Don't take it personally. Xiaoyong, come and say something. Shaoning. Xiaoyong. I still can't believe it. How did you become Chairman? Come on, didn't you see it just now? He is the chairman! I suppose we've been deceived too many times over the years. It's hard to trust anyone. I apologize for my actions earlier. Please forgive me. There you go. It's okay. I understand. That's great. Big brother. Yeah. Over these years, it's not that I didn't want to return. As the saying goes, great kindness needs no words of thanks. Only when I can really repay you, would I come see you. Shaoning, what happened all these years? Yeah, tell us. Five years ago, I met a crook. He drugged my drink. I was barely conscious when I signed. Stamped my thumbprint. Just like that, the two million was gone. After that, life became unbearable. I survived by collecting scrap and drifted from place to place. I finally got a job at a school cafeteria. Hey! What's wrong with you! I'm sorry! Compensate me! It was an accident. What's going on? What happened? Head Chef, I'm sorry. I accidentally knocked over the plate and got his clothes dirty. How can you be so clumsy! Do you know who he is? I'm sorry. I'll wipe clean his clothes, okay? This is the principal's son. Nevermind. You're fired! Head Chef... Get lost. Go. Get out of here. This is all we have left to eat. I know it's not easy for you either. If it weren't this bad, I wouldn't leave you either. If there was even a little bit of hope… Lulu… I know you've suffered a lot these years because of me. I'm sorry. Your mom was right. Marry the son of the village party secretary, at least you wouldn't go hungry. You should go back. Tomorrow, I'll send you back to your hometown. Your parents never approved of us anyway. Take this money. I don't need that much. Take it. Buy something to eat. Keep it. You'll need the money when you return. And just like that, my fiancée was forced to leave. Later, I worked at a construction site, saved a little money. One day, Lulu's mother found me. I have no one else to turn to. I was too greedy. I had Lulu marry the village party secretary's son. Turns out he was a gambler. He lost everything. Now he's gone. The child has a high fever. We can't afford to go to the hospital. I even brought a photo. Look at him, how pitiful. Auntie, this is all my money. Take it. Get the child treated. If it's not enough, I'll find a way. Take it. Thank you. Thank you. Auntie, get up, get up. Don't do this. Get up. It's alright. The child will be fine. Don't worry. Fortunately, when I was at my lowest, I met someone who changed my life. He gave me a book, Zhuan Falun. And my life underwent a major change. You… You just lack an opportunity. I have a good friend. Take this and go see him. He'll definitely help you. Thank you. Through Mr. Zhang's recommendation, I began working at Chairman Shen's company. Shaoning. Yes, Chairman. I'm heading out on a business trip for a few days. Take care of my wife and child's transportation. Sure, no problem. Also, sort out the Nanjiao Market proposal. Okay, don't worry. When I arrived at Chairman Shen's home, it was on fire. It's too late. Go! Be careful! Come on. Hurry up! Hurry up! Go! Here. Take it. I can't accept this. You saved our lives. I really can't accept this. Please take it back. My husband told me to give this to you. Take it. This... Mingming. Remember this person. He saved our lives. When you grow up, you have to repay him. It's okay. I happened to be there. Please don't say that. Please sit down. To be honest, I don't even know how to thank you. If it weren't for Feng that day, I might never see my wife and child again. Chairman Shen, please don't say that. Anyone would help in such a situation. That's not necessarily true. People like you are rare nowadays. You're right. A person recommended by Mr. Zhang is honourable for sure. I've already told the board. A man like you must be kept. I've decided to invite you to join the board. That's, that's too much. Chairman Shen, I don't have anything now. I don't even have money. You don't have money, but I do. What I value is your character. We want to give people like you a chance. This matter is decided. Thank you, Chairman Shen. I won't let you down. From today on, you are Director Feng. Thank you. Thank you. Welcome to the board. So that's what happened… Big brother, sign the contract. This contract… I'll sign. I'll sign it right now! Yes! This is great! I'll get you a pen. Look. After signing the contract, brother's complexion is so much better. Yeah. Shaoning. Yeah. The weight on my heart has finally been lifted. I know that many companies are competing for this opportunity. With this contract, we'll get a foothold in this industry and secure our place. Right. You've given me a great help. How can I thank you? Big brother, I should be the one to thank you. This is the security deposit for our contract - ten million. I'll cover it for you. You must accept it. That's… very generous. I came back today to repay a debt of gratitude. Not just the two million, but to repay your kindness. Brother. My good brother. I was right about you all along. Shaoning, the New Year is almost here. At that time, shall we have a reunion dinner together? Let's invite all our friends and relatives. Good idea! Yeah! Our daughter is terrific. That's right. President Zhao, ever since our company signed the contract with Lida, sales have multiplied several times. We exceeded this year's sales target. Yes, as of this month, our sales have surpassed two hundred million. Excellent! Let's keep the momentum going. Okay! President Zhao, we want to come back. Please let us rejoin. Stand up. If you don't agree, I'm not getting up. Get up, I accept. Really? Yes. Get up. Come on. Thank you, Brother Qiang. Okay. Today is New Year's. Let's enjoy this joyous occasion. Come, let's pop champagne to celebrate. Yeah! This New Year means more to me than any other. In the past year, our company went through highs and lows. It was Chairman Feng Shaoning of Lida Group who helped bring us back to life. I've realized something. That is, one must be kind, be grateful, and keep your word. Do you agree? Yes! Big brother is right. In the year ahead, I also wish you all good health, high energy, prosperity at work, and success in all you do. Great! Here's to a toast. Happy New Year! Cheers! You see, everything Shaoning has achieved so far came from holding fast to his beliefs. Shaoning is incredible. I hope that the concept of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" can reach more people. Yeah. That would be so wonderful. Yeah. It definitely will.
