Is it just me or does my freaking eyes get bluer?
I swear they're more blue.
My eyes get bigger, my neck gets bigger.
Oh, my neck definitely got bigger.
My face is also a lot...
Dude, I sat in the sun yesterday.
That jet ski, I got such a bad tan line.
I don't know if you can see.
You can't really see.
It's really bad.
It's a farmer's tan.
I have a really bad farmer's tan at the moment.
What's up, guys? Liam Lawson here.
We're going to track.
It's media day, Thursday.
Come check it out.
Thanks, bro.
Yeah, right.
I'm in a bit of a rush.
I can just do one or two.
Oh, that one.
We can flip, bro.
It's a big back seat.
We're good.
Liam, do you have that video of you and Dad
playing guitar that you showed Lawrence?
It's literally a Snapchat video.
But the thing is, the Snapchat video literally has
my friend's text.
It's like, what a weapon.
What a weapon.
It's just my dad playing the guitar.
No, that's good.
Dude, you can't put that.
Why not?
Weapon's a good thing.
How do you like Miami?
I like it a lot.
Like, I know so many people that live out here.
The golf is, like, meant to be amazing here.
But it's mainly just, like, around the beach.
Like, the beach is everywhere.
Yeah.
I've spent, like, the last 10 years between, basically,
Europe and the UK, where there's just no beach.
Your apartment looks over the beach.
Yeah, now I'm back.
Now I'm back.
I was getting to it.
Now I'm back over a beach, and it's sick.
And I forgot how much I appreciated it.
The UK has some lovely beaches.
The UK's got the worst beaches ever.
Actually, you find, factually, I live on Europe's best beach.
Europe's best beaches.
Beaches.
The best beaches in Europe 2026.
As voted by over 1,000 travel professionals,
including our judges, beach ambassadors, and our words.
All right.
Greece, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Greece, France, Spain, Portugal,
Greece, Italy, Ireland.
Keep scrolling until we get to the UK.
Hang on.
I'm just going to get to the UK first.
Norway's in there.
There it is.
England has Kenan's Cove.
Bro, that can't be England.
That's a different England.
Probably not the United Kingdom.
In preschool, I had, like, a best friend who started racing go-karts.
My dad got me a go-kart, and that's how we started.
And I raced in New Zealand for seven or eight years.
And then, yeah, I moved to Europe.
I've spent more time racing, like, much more time racing in Europe
than I actually ever did racing as a kid in New Zealand.
It's kind of weird.
There's a group of amazing people that got behind me to help raise money.
We, like, got enough funding together to do one season of Europe,
like F4, to try and basically the plan was to try and get picked up by a junior team.
I raced in F4 in Germany.
I finished second.
Like, had a good year, but I didn't win.
Then I came home to New Zealand, and there's a series that runs in New Zealand
called the Toyota Racing Series.
Just did this really big overtake.
And then the next day, I had a phone call from Helmut,
and then had a rebel contract.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I was 15.
I think last year I had ridiculously long hair when I was here.
Yeah, it was good.
Good morning.
Morning, guys.
Morning.
Thank you.
Nice to be back.
We were wondering if you could mascot, like, other sports.
I fear it.
Are those things quite aggressive?
I think they're quite aggressive.
I think they can be aggressive.
Maybe that.
Morning.
We basically, there's been so many revisions of this, like, of this burrito.
And now we've got it in a really good spot where we had basically an omelette.
And then we put that omelette in a burrito and wrap it up.
Before I got to F1, when I was a reserve,
and I would watch, like, these unbelievable meals get brought in for the drivers,
and I was like, that'll be the day, man, when I get my own personal...
I know he bitches when his cutlery's not brought out in a little packet.
No, I don't.
I don't.
But it was one of the biggest bonuses of becoming a driver was the food.
How did you guys meet?
How did you guys, like, meet?
Like, forcibly.
They forced...
Yep.
We were forced into a working relationship very quickly.
And luckily, I'm just a cool guy.
We both started at Red Bull Racing together.
There was all these reports about how, you know,
I got moved from Red Bull to V-Carb and stuff like this,
but nobody talked about the fact that you...
No, nobody talked about me.
...went from Red Bull to V-Carb as well last year.
Media left that one out, didn't they?
I know, they didn't really, didn't show that one.
Don't shed a tear for me.
Oh, maybe we're not meant to ride them in here.
Oh, check it out.
Mate, last year, all of last year,
the photo that they used for me was this horrible...
It was, like, the super skin tight...
I was wearing a suit, not my suit.
It was Isaac's suit, I think.
Oh, check it out, mate.
I need one second.
It's for...
track walk.
It's, like, a tradition that we do, basically,
to go and see the track, yeah.
You can, like, see things that have changed from last year.
So, if, like, I don't know,
they've got different curbs or something like that
that have moved.
How freaking goofy does that look?
But it's to protect my jeans.
But I'll see you boys in a bit.
In my, what is it?
I like to present them...
I like to present them like this in my house.
I could probably juggle the lines and do it.
Yeah, so, basically, you're gonna be on your phone,
Hey, future me.
Do you remember Miami 26?
Dude, oh my God, man.
I've done so much of this stuff.
Oh, I love it.
I absolutely love it.
When I thought of being a Formula 1 driver,
I thought,
man, I can't wait to do the social content
that comes with being a Formula 1 driver.
Hey, guys.
It's my line.
I feel like you guys gotta give us less of a script.
Exactly.
How's your touch, mate?
Do you know what?
Have some time back.
Wow.
Check that out.
Can we...
You're full of ----, dude.
Okay.
Thanks, guys.
Cheers.
I've been playing since I was like seven years old,
but I stopped.
I stopped for a period of time
and now I just play by myself.
I play with some mates.
A little bit.
But I'm not going to do that right now.
But it's such a good way to just unwind.
I would really like a guitar pick.
I don't know if I have one in here.
I went to New Zealand
and I have my own dirt bike track
that I built there last year.
So I rode dirt bikes every day.
Spent a lot of time training.
Probably two of the hardest weeks of training that I've had
or three of the hardest weeks of training that I've had.
And spent a few days with the team as well.
So I went to the factory in Faenza to see everybody.
We've done simulator, our normal prep before a race.
So it's been good.
I think for a lot of people,
it's given us a chance to look at the first few races,
which were quite stressful with these new cars,
and try and understand as much as we can
and hopefully be in a better position.
The way they drive is quite playful,
which is quite nice.
But we've lost a lot of downforce compared to last year,
so our corner speeds are a lot lower.
And the way the battery and the energy is displaced,
we don't have enough really.
It's not very well optimised
and you end up running out of battery a lot.
So we've spent a lot of time,
I'm sure you've seen down the end of the straights,
we're slowing down because we run out of battery.
In qualifying, we can't always drive flat out
because it's not the most efficient thing to do.
So that side of it,
it's definitely a new thing for us to learn.
For sure, there's opportunity that comes with it,
but definitely some of the enjoyment's gone.
Coming here, I think a lot of teams,
because of the break, will bring an upgrade this race.
So you kind of don't really know where you sit.
It's going to be,
we're going to go out tomorrow
and figure it out pretty quickly.
It's a track that I enjoy though.
I liked being here last year.
So I'm excited for that.
But a lot of Formula One is super unknown.
You can be confident within yourself
and you know that you're going to do a good job
going into a weekend
or that you can do the best thing you can,
but you never really know what everybody else is doing.
You look like a pro black NASCAR Power Ranger.
The half six.
I want to see you strike a Power Ranger pose.
We've just come from engineering.
So basically we go through the plan of the whole weekend,
the changes from the last weekend.
Obviously there's a lot this weekend
because of the big break.
And then now we're going to do a seat check basically.
So I sit in the car.
It's been a big break.
I've trained a lot.
I've also had a lot of food.
So it'll be interesting to see what I weigh
and if I still fit in my car.
And if I do, then we're good to go.
And if I don't, then it's a bit of modifications before tomorrow.
But our weight has to be very accurate throughout the weekend.
So wherever I start now, we need to track it.
And then that decides my meal portions.
Like today I had quite a small lunch.
And again, it's all to sustain a consistent weight.
Now?
Oh!
Good lord.
Strong.
Hey, that's all **** here.
Here.
That's like more than a kilo in the break.
That's a wrap of Thursday media day here in Miami.
It's been a pretty busy day.
These races normally are always quite hectic.
So it's going to be interesting this weekend.
We have a lot that we've learned from the first couple of races
that we're excited to apply this weekend.
And obviously we're in bright colors as well.
So excited to get into things.
Thanks for sticking with me for today.
Let's get into the weekend.
