I like this city a lot. It's paranormal and you can skate on car roads, no problem. And that's because
well, there aren't many cars around for some reason. And if you even see a car it gives you
the right of way of course. Well of course you can skate on the sidewalk, no problem. But car roads
Compared to Tallinn of course the sidewalks are not that great. There are lots of little stones
as you can see here and also some bad asphalt as you can see here. No cars and also no people in
the streets. But they have these hot spots where they gather around, dance, buy expensive food and
of course drink beer till they pass out. And you can pass out in the city. It's quite safe.
Pärnu is the summer capital of Estonia and every Estonian needs to visit Pärnu at least once
during the summer. So we did. And for some reason Pärnu always has the best weather in Estonia.
Maybe it has good jeans. The whole city actually sits on the coast. So there are lots of beaches
around. And if you have a lot of beaches in your city, you have a lot of tourists. I think one
third of everybody in Pärnu is Finnish. If you want to visit the city and come by car, well you need
to know this. Parking in Pärnu is freaking difficult and super expensive. If you park your
car and don't pay for it, they show you no mercy. 40 euros gone. I was even nervous driving in the
city and stopping at the traffic light because my car was stationary. And the parking inspectors
were eyeballing me. They are like a mix of zombie and ninja. Zombie because they have no feelings.
And ninja, well they come out of the bush, behind the cars, they climb out of the manholes,
slide down a tree and whoops you have a ticket. And also they are super motivated to give you a
Well I know, I know. They're just doing their job, right? Well whatever helps them sleep at night.
But anywho, we didn't care about that at that moment. We were just happy to skate around Pärnu
because there are like millions of parks there and all with pavements. Come on, that's super.
No freaking gravel roads there, just fast smooth asphalt. Now we headed towards the beach.
It was another hotspot for people and dogs and half-naked grandmas and grandpas. And why is
the beach a hotspot? Well obviously it's a place to cool ourselves. But there is one major big
problem with Estonian beaches. Well the water is really shallow. We had to walk two kilometers to
the sea to get our belly button wet. Maybe it's a good thing because when you walk we get used to
the cold water. Because sea water is pretty cold in Estonia, even in Pärnu. I think maximum is 25.
That's super maximum. You see that guy in the white? Well he's local. He's a local rollerblader but
he's solo. He skates solo because there is nobody to skate with. It's pretty sad actually.
He had a friend but he got deported. That's so weird actually. There are decent roads in Pärnu
but there is no rollerbladers. Only scooter guys, some bicycle guys and some other weird
transportation. Now we got to the beach area and as you can imagine all the people were there.
If you want a good business idea I'll give you one. To Pärnu in the summertime and break into
people's houses. There is nobody home but don't forget to pay for the parking when you're looting
the houses because otherwise you will struggle to break even. Unfortunately the beach had these
crappy stones laid down. So we headed to this place. I think it was a bridge of some sort but
not actually. The wooden pathway went all around the beach I think. It was above the water and
there were these junctions. You can go left, right and also some resting areas. It was quite long
really. It was like a couple of kilometers I think. I think there was a missed opportunity
to put up an ice cream booth or cocktail bar for example. Weirdly enough it was really nice
to skate on the wood. Usually it's not. It's either super slippery or super bumpy.
Now you can see the father of the year. We're going to explore more of that unusually satisfying
wooden bridge like thingy and we did discover something. We found a fort or I think it was
just a bird watching tower but a fort sounds more interesting. Now you can see the view.
It was on the water and of course we needed to climb up that fort or tower or whatever
to see if we can see any birds. Maybe some chicks at the beach. Okay bad joke. Would you look at that?
Beautiful. Continued our skate and I just realized look at how wide the roads are.
Where can you find so wide roads in Europe with good asphalt and where you're allowed to skate?
Not many countries I think. Yeah we had a blast. Wide roads, warm weather, sea breeze, no shirts required.
Super nice and because there are no rollerbladers in Pärnu we got a lot of attention.
It's like driving a Lamborghini in the streets. People are amazed but also jealous or maybe they
just don't want to get hit by us. Either way it felt nice. So if you can come visit Pärnu, skate here,
enjoy the beach, eat an ice cream, pay the parking fine and just have a good time.
Anyway thanks for watching and see you in the next video. Next video is a special one.
I went to a foreign country. Well anyway see you then. Bye.
