Although hair clippers have become ubiquitous in all barbershops and salons the world over, there is still a romantic edge to traditional scissor cuts. We would never seek to do away with their electricity powered cousins, but we think shears deserve their day in the sun this summer. Here are seven of our favorite tasteful trims. Just as how you would need different tools for different occasions, you also need different pairs of professional hairdressing scissors depending on the type of haircut. Not all hairdressing tools are the same. They are designed with different materials and features to help you achieve the desired hairstyle with professional results every single time. Let’s check out the different types of scissors that we offer for popular haircutting techniques!
THINNING AND TEXTURISING
As a hairdresser, you will probably encounter a lot of clients with thick and coarse hair that request to thin and texturise their hair. Using your normal tool to cut voluminous hair is a no-go. You’ll need professional hairdressing thinners that are specifically designed for texturising.
Thinner scissors usually have teeth or notches on one side, while the other side is a smooth blade. Using thinners ensure that there is less damage for the hair compared to using razors to thin out the hair. We offer a wide range of thinning and texturizing scissors which are designed to give you a clean and precise haircut every time thanks to the premium grade steel.
Yeah, I can do that for sure. I would like to do that shorter too. This will be uh,
this will be here for living.
Self-flooring. Oh yeah, and where is it that you work? It's a place called ProSource. Oh nice.
We're, like I said, purely wholesale. We're the largest purchaser of flooring in the U.S.
You ain't never heard of. We don't advertise or anything like that.
Strictly word of mouth and cold calling contractors. That's cool. So like, I mean,
Arizona tile, downtown, MZR tile, they all got showrooms, like right off the freeways.
Yeah. Ours is off the freeway, but you can't see us. Yeah, that's a couple of the guys from MZR come
here. Yeah. Yeah, I use some of their tile for my house. Yeah, we do all their stuff for less
than they sell to the public and the contractors for it. Basically, as long as it's not big box
store trash, you're not going to get a better price than from me. That's, that's pretty cool.
All right, yeah, that'll be good. Yeah, have your mom text me and everything. Yeah, what's uh,
are you busy till 5? Just, yeah, till 5. Okay, I'll let her know. Which should be good.
Because they're over at Jason's house now. All right, so we'll figure it out. All right,
later Mark. Hey buddy. Do you guys have like stone for you? Oh yeah, everything.
You're my first cut after dating a stylist for three years.
I'm not sure that my relationship ended or. Yeah. I've had, I've had someone come in here and say
that before. Because it's, it's nice to date like a stylist and then all of a sudden reunite
because she can get your hair and everything. Yeah. What, what the good part about this is
and how did you find out about this place? Just randomly looking around.
So I was, it just jumped up, something got up my ass Monday and I was like,
I need to go get my hair cut. So I was just searching around, found you.
What, like on Google? Yeah. Oh nice. And then of course went to Insta and looked you up and.
Oh, that's sick. Oh yeah. And how did you know that I had an Instagram?
I didn't, I just assumed. And how, but how did you know what my username was?
Just by the name was Sargent and so on. Oh sick. Awesome. Oh yeah.
Just a couple of them. I was like, cool. He actually understands texture and ----.
Absolutely. He's not just a faves only like most of the other barbers.
I think that too, probably just the name itself. Yeah. Not being barbershop. That's why I wanted
to bridge the gap between traditional barbering and salon culture. Where can like a guy go that
even had long hair like yours and get my thousand dollars shears to use them. And
that's why I'm saying it's whether it's short or long, it's like.
Just somebody that knows how to cut longer men's hair in general.
And someone that knows how to use the scissors. Yeah.
So how long have you been doing it? I've been cutting hair for like 30 years.
Since I was like 14. Yeah. I've seen everything on the internet.
It sounds like you got some little stuff going. No, you're talking with him about all that stuff.
Oh yeah. That's just business.
Yeah. Mark, if you watch this video, shout out to you, brother, you did a great job.
Stuck to the plan and executed it.
And in the back, would you rather have it square tapered or round?
Square. Watch, I can't wait till you see all this stuff. That's going to be fire.
Because I can't wait to get this point cut on the top and that texture and direction.
Yeah, because I went somewhere probably middle of last year and she was all booked up.
And he actually like faded like right here next to my ears.
Yeah. And all I asked him was to like
shape up my ---- because it was still long already. Oh yeah, that sucks.
And he just started doing it and I was like, uh,
I was like, well, now I just kind of got to let you go for it.
Right. And it's best to ask. That's what I say. It's like, dude, don't be afraid to ask.
All right. And I'll be ready for you when you come back.
Yeah, I can already feel the air on the side of my head again.
I was hoping to make it to where this ---- was long enough to donate, but.
Your hair was, is long enough to donate.
That was close, but.
Oh yeah, I see. Is it? What is it? How many inches is it? Did they say it was?
I think it's like 14.
Oh, okay.
But then with the surgery, I'm like, no, I'm not about to deal with all this with one hand.
What is this surgery on your neck or what?
No, shoulder.
Oh ----.
Yeah, I had a torn bicep, or yeah, tear in my bicep tendon.
I've got a cyst in there that they got to remove.
And then they got to shave down my collarbone because it's rather bone on bone.
All kinds of plain ----.
And so how long do you think you'll be out of work?
Out of work, maybe a week or two, just depending on how bad the pain is.
Oh yeah.
But they said I won't be actually lifting until like six to seven months, which ******* sucks.
So I just dropped 70 pounds last year.
So to be told I can't lift weights and ---- now, it kind of really hurts.
And how did this injury happen?
I don't know. I had it for a long time.
I finally realized I was like, no, I had it back in 20, at least 2018.
But I lost a little bit of weight back then and my shoulder was bugging me.
And I was like, oh, it's just weak.
Quit being a bitch, just work through it.
And then I think that's when I blew out my back the first time actually.
So that stopped me working out and put all the damn weight back on.
So what other kind of stuff you dabbled in, business-wise?
Just cutting hair on YouTube.
All hair content on YouTube or you do other stuff?
Just really hair content.
I mean, I have a card that has a YouTube channel and everything else.
But I mean, I'll never pump that one.
It's really gross.
Makes sense, like you were saying a minute ago, you're already doing it.
You're already doing it, may as well film it.
No, I've tried other things like little motivational speeches and have people on,
but it's more of the haircutting that they want to see.
And the haircutting naturally, like not editing the video.
This homie walked in, I won't edit it out.
I don't care if it's forever.
And then my people like the hair transformation.
So this will be a sick transformation.
Like one of the sickest I've done.
Just because it went from very long to a short hairstyle.
How long have you been in this spot?
I've been here four years.
Well, actually tomorrow will be four years.
A lot of tools.
Like I'll just go get a ******* babe, **** it.
No, I'm gonna lose all my moisture zone.
So I'm probably more upset about not being able to
**** with girls for the time after my shoulder surgery more so than the weights.
So you guys, like I take this little side and I just go like that.
And that blends it right in, like just like that.
I guess you can call it slicing and it just does that.
It gives it a like scissor blend to come in.
Because that's on both sides.
Like this one, I hold it like this.
I just come in and I come like this.
And then I give that a little bit of a cut.
I come right over here.
I give that a little bit of a cut.
Blending in, just giving it that blend.
Because what time is your appointment for?
Yeah.
So he wasn't early.
He was early, but it was like the correct amount of early.
And what about any kind of lineup on the sides of the front?
You don't need anything on the front, but I'm saying
you probably don't need it on the side, but you could have it on the side if you wanted to.
No, we'll just leave it.
Yeah, watch, I'll make it super clean like that.
And then I have it the line just under here.
It's the texture, like how it comes forward like that.
Dude, just so you can see it like in the mirror.
Watch it, see how sick it is without the cape on.
Watch it, look at all that.
Yeah, now look over here.
Yeah, and like bust it around.
Watch, move it around.
You can see how, yeah, exactly.
Oh, yeah, the Italian tiger.
Now I can see.
What do you think?
Do you like it?
What's that?
You like it?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah, sick.
