Although hair clippers have become ubiquitous in all barbershops and salons the world over, there is still a romantic edge to traditional scissor cuts. We would never seek to do away with their electricity powered cousins, but we think shears deserve their day in the sun this summer. Here are seven of our favorite tasteful trims. Just as how you would need different tools for different occasions, you also need different pairs of professional hairdressing scissors depending on the type of haircut. Not all hairdressing tools are the same. They are designed with different materials and features to help you achieve the desired hairstyle with professional results every single time. Let’s check out the different types of scissors that we offer for popular haircutting techniques!
THINNING AND TEXTURISING
As a hairdresser, you will probably encounter a lot of clients with thick and coarse hair that request to thin and texturise their hair. Using your normal tool to cut voluminous hair is a no-go. You’ll need professional hairdressing thinners that are specifically designed for texturising.
Thinner scissors usually have teeth or notches on one side, while the other side is a smooth blade. Using thinners ensure that there is less damage for the hair compared to using razors to thin out the hair. We offer a wide range of thinning and texturizing scissors which are designed to give you a clean and precise haircut every time thanks to the premium grade steel.
Homie G, ******* killer, ******* OG, ******* triple quadruple, *******...
Alright, so check this out. This is what you gave me a few times.
I can do that.
Yeah, so I really like this. I want to do the same on the sides and on top.
Okay.
Here's some more. The only thing is, I'd like to leave more on the back.
Okay, and so tell me about the back, about leaving more. Watch, so we can get it just perfect.
When you mean leave more in the back, what do you mean?
Like, see how it's real short down here?
Yeah. Yeah, so I just like being able to do stuff with it, and so...
So maybe instead of adding the fade that comes all the way across,
maybe do a taper which will still make the sides look like that,
but the back we can have either rounded, squared, or something like that.
You know, I just realized, we don't want to get too close to a mullet though, right?
No, it won't be. Like, watch. Let me show you the difference between a taper and a fade.
Watch. I'm going to show you on this book so you can see, because I made a new thing of these haircuts.
Like, that's a fade on the side going all the way across, like how yours is.
This one's a little bit lower than this one. This is a mid-fade.
But this right here, when it tapers on the side, is a taper, then leaving it more full in the back.
Oh, yeah. No, I like that.
You like the taper better?
Yeah, the taper. Let's try that out.
Let's do it. So, do you want to just taper the sides and have the rest cut like that,
or do you want to taper the back as well?
All round or square the back?
Can you show me or tell me what you mean?
Yeah, watch. Let's see.
And if I don't, I'm going to have one of those now too.
See, this is a mullet, so that's not what you're going to have. Don't worry about it.
It'll be clean in the back, but you can either have it blended with a zero,
or you can still have some hair there and all round or square.
Which one would you prefer?
Let's try the round.
Okay, yeah. I got you. I'll make it look sick. Trust me, dude. I'm not going to.
Now you'll see this will be the ultimate.
Look, guys, you guys are seeing it like this.
You can still do so much with your hair, though.
Yeah.
You have good hair.
Thank you.
I've been told that a lot, but I'm taking Biotin on a daily basis because I have the bald gene.
I can't wait to give you hair back. Watch, I swear to God. Watch what I do with this.
This will be a true transformation.
Okay.
Guys, you're going to want to see. Look at this haircut right here.
You're going to want to stick around to the end of this video and watch what I do.
Like, I'm not even joking.
All right, sick.
Where did you score on Hollyhock?
Oh, sorry.
One of the UFC guys gave it to me.
I forget who gave you that.
That's kind of cool.
Are any of your fights on YouTube?
You know what?
I had a King of the Cage fight and then a couple other fights.
I have a DVD of one of my fights.
I don't think any of them are on YouTube.
Okay.
But you know what, though?
I probably will upload one or two of them on YouTube.
Sure.
That'd be kind of sick.
Absolutely.
And I only say that because I fought.
I got to get it.
Oh, yeah.
I'll be right back.
Thanks for the dab, brother.
That was a pretty cool little dab break, too.
Do you like it?
Mm-hmm.
Smoothest I've had so far.
Smooth.
My dad got a Dr. Dabber, too.
Nice.
That thing, though, for some reason, it could not get any high at all.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
The puff goes different.
And not to mention different depending on the ---- that you have in there.
Mm-hmm.
That's probably for real.
See, now I have that book that shows the difference between a taper and a fade, which is great.
Because the moment, like a lot of people really, they didn't want the fade, they wanted the taper,
but they didn't really know how to explain it or which the difference was.
And then as soon as I showed them that picture, they were like, oh, no, no, no, taper.
Yeah.
And so it's like, yeah, if you would have faded them, that wouldn't, you know what I mean,
that wouldn't be what they really wanted.
Mm-hmm.
Well, it's just so smooth.
Well, you know, it's more like about the relationship with the barber and the person,
how well they're able to communicate.
And once you get to that point, then that's really awesome.
So the fact that you did that.
Sure.
Yeah.
I was already really pleased before, but when you showed me that taper, I was like, oh, yeah, that's really,
that's something that's new.
Although I've probably gotten a taper in the past, I just didn't know what to call it.
And you just helped me bridge a gap because now I realize, you know what,
you have all these tapers and this and that now in the book, which is great,
but it's show the back of the haircut and show what round, square, and tapered is.
Mm-hmm.
You know, that way, just in case, you know, they want to see what is rounded, what is squared,
what is tapered, you know, have that on there too.
Oh, yeah.
That's great.
It's going to be, I'll be able to easily do that because I can do that, you know,
by the end of the day.
Mm-hmm.
Take a picture of your round one, that'll be the round one in there,
and then someone will get squared by the time I leave,
and I guarantee I'll get a taper by that time.
And so what's new with you?
Well, a lot of stuff.
I've been really thankful lately because I've been realizing the more I give thanks,
the more good comes to you, and, like, as long as I'm grateful for things,
I can really be happy no matter what my situation is.
And so, you know, I've been feeling a lot of gratitude lately,
but also I've got this, what's it called?
It's a terrarium.
It's like a little enclosure that people build for animals.
Yeah, I know what it is, terrarium or whatever.
Yeah, but I've got this bioactive ecosystem going on there.
Nice.
So there's a whole bunch of soil creatures and things that consume mold
and the things you don't want, like rotting stuff,
and so it's a whole, like, circle of life going on in there.
The coolest thing I have is these little zebra isopods, like roly-polies,
but they're colored, like, black and white striped,
and they're really cute, man.
They're like little ducks.
Oh, and are they actual roly-polies?
Yeah, yeah, but they're pretty big.
They're, like, as big as your fingernail, some of them.
And where did you get those from?
You can buy so many different creatures on the Internet.
Can they mail them to you?
Oh, yeah.
You just have to make sure that, you know,
they're going to be shipped to you under the right temperature conditions.
And they will do that?
Well, you have to make sure you order during the right time of year.
Like, it's wintertime right now.
If I tried to order some, they aren't able to, they're in the cold.
Yeah.
That's good.
Yeah, there's even some species that look like rubber duckies.
They're called rubber ducky roly-polies.
That's awesome.
Yeah.
They're discovering a lot of different species, like, in forests
that we haven't explored before, in jungles.
Oh, sick.
You know, we need to explore when we explore, oceans.
Yeah, man.
We haven't even gotten past 1%.
Yeah.
What if, like, 10,000 years ago, the poles were in different locations,
so Antarctica and the Arctic were, like, actually able to be inhabited?
Hold on, say that again?
What if the poles were in different locations?
What if somehow they moved over the course of thousands and billions of years?
So it was north, east, south.
Or, like, yeah, whatever, but, like, the Arctic and the Antarctic,
like, they would be inhabited by all kinds of creatures, too.
Well, they're due to flip.
Right.
They're due to flip soon.
Really?
They're due, yeah.
How do you know that?
Nat Geo.
I used to be a big old nerd, bro.
Nat Geo.
I've been reading about that, too.
I used to be a big old nerd, bro.
Hell.
I've actually been reading about that, too, the pole shift.
They started moving a year or, sorry, not a year, a mile each year.
They're about to flip.
When that happens, there's going to be a lot of craziness going on.
Navigation is going to be off so bad.
Yeah, man.
Oh, my God.
We're going to have to rely on satellites,
and satellites are going to be knocked out of orbit.
Yeah, and there's going to be natural disasters going on
because that will trigger, like, tsunamis and ----.
Oh, my gosh.
It's insane.
But hopefully I can hit, it's not until I'm long gone.
Yeah, we're a long time away.
Yeah, at least another couple hundred years,
but still, that's still pretty soon.
Hopefully.
All things considered.
Well, you know, one day our sun is going to explode, right?
Yeah, we, all of us are going to be long gone by the time that happens.
By the time that happens, exactly.
All right.
It's going to turn into a red giant, and it's going to go up the Earth.
The Earth will be gone before it explodes.
Yep.
It'll be vaporized.
It'll be like a dead rock.
Yep.
That's the cycle of life and death, and it's actually kind of beautiful.
Bro, you just hit my sweet spot when it came to being married.
I'm ******* hostess, bro.
It's very interesting.
I don't want to die.
So, yeah, if you ever want to chill with me or CJ,
you can either stop by one of our shops,
and you don't even have to get a haircut anymore.
You don't have to get, um,
Thank you.
Yeah.
I appreciate that.
I've been looking for some more friends lately.
Yeah, definitely.
Yeah, when I moved to New Mexico a few years ago,
I left behind a lot of my life behind.
Oh, yeah.
Well, I mean, think of it as a clean slate.
You're getting to know everyone.
What was that?
Think of it like a clean slate.
Yeah, right.
Yeah, think of it like a clean slate.
That's what it kind of was for me because, you know,
just to leave behind a lot of stuff.
It's hard.
People, a lot of people that weren't treating me right.
Yeah, and it sounds like you found your worth.
Yeah, definitely.
Well, you know, friends that weren't really friends.
Uh-huh.
But, yeah.
Yeah, sometimes it takes time to realize.
Whenever you grow beyond them, you start to realize that,
and you can really make a lot of changes in your life
when you realize, like, what you're actually doing.
Yeah.
Or use critical thinking, I guess.
Oh, it's snowing out there.
What the heck?
Are you guys twins?
Yeah, we're cousins.
Whatever.
I have a twin, too, so.
What you guys been up to?
Nothing.
Just chillin'.
Just chillin'?
Yeah.
Did you guys smoke weed?
Nah.
Nah?
No.
Yeah.
Let's see if you guys want to stop by the dispensary.
Oh, back to what we were talking about.
Yeah, I like to see what you're making.
Yeah.
People come and go.
Oh, yeah.
Oklahoma.
Good place to live.
Not a good place to visit.
I say that just because there's not too much that goes on there.
Like, the biggest amusement park we had was pretty small,
and it was called, like, Frontier City.
They got some fun stuff down there, too, though.
They've got this, like, huge crystal bridge that's, like, a botanical garden.
Yeah.
And, you know, they got the Flaming Lips, the rock band.
They would do Halloween parades every year,
and so the lead singer would be in this giant inflatable, like, sphere
and singing at the same time while the rest of his band
is on a floaty behind them.
That's kind of cool.
Yeah.
And so they would all be dressed up as, like, zombies
or whatever they were doing that year.
Okay, this is as much as I can get it picked out.
Oh, yeah, then we'll lock it.
Watch.
As soon as I'm done with this, we'll move on.
When I got hers in, we'll see.
Oh, okay.
But I got you.
Watch.
I'll lock it in for you.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm going to be next door for a minute.
All right, I'll come grab you.
Okay, sick.
Thanks, brother.
You're welcome.
I wouldn't mind having a, like, terrarium that you're, like,
you should be able to...
Yeah, man.
I've got these little small, small creatures called springtails,
and they really just consume mold,
and so I don't even have to worry about how wet it gets in there
because they just take care of the mold for me.
Yeah, but you have to create mold.
Yeah, so I have to create mold for them to feed,
and I've also got the ice pods in there,
which, like, they're detritivores,
so they consume on anything that's, like, rotting or decaying.
So, like, a strawberry?
Yeah, so, like, if I have some leftovers from food,
it's vegetable or whatever, I'll throw it in there,
and they'll eat it right up.
Oh, wow.
I could put, like, a lizard in there or something that wouldn't eat them.
Oh, that's cool.
And, you know, I wouldn't have to worry about cleaning anything.
Yeah, that's actually super cool.
And how long would it take for them to consume the lizard?
Oh, wait, well, no, I mean, like—
Like a small lizard.
Oh, so you think I put it in there for them to eat?
Well, we'll say a spider just to be more realistic.
No, I actually had a spider in there for a while,
and it was crazy because he—I didn't realize it,
but I picked up a pregnant spider.
Oh, wow.
So it literally laid an egg sac,
and there was a humongous amount of, like,
small little baby spiders running around everywhere.
And at the same time, I had this, like, fruit fly population,
and so it was a war between baby spiders and fruit flies.
It's ******* crazy.
Dude, that's awesome.
All of this happening above the roly-polies,
and they just, like, not getting carried.
Yeah, that's crazy that you have fruit flies.
How long does it take for them to develop from one other fruit fly?
You know, they came from my kitchen,
or from our kitchen.
I live with my mom.
Yeah.
And they signed away into my terrarium.
Wow.
And then they started living in there, and I was like—
My mom actually got really pissed at me for a while.
She was like,
Dude, you're, like, sustaining the fruit fly population.
You've got to get it out of here.
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
Yeah.
Ha, ha, ha, ha.
That's *******—
Yeah, but—
Yeah, so I literally found this spider.
I was like,
Hey, mom, don't worry about it.
I got the spider in there.
Yeah, it's really funny, too, because
she used to be really terrified of bugs before I was born.
But ever since I was born,
I would go and take classes at the museums about insects.
Nice.
Wait, so then are you in school right now?
No, I was actually homeschooled.
No, but I mean, are you—
What is—
What are you doing right now for a living?
Right now, I'm just working at P.F. Chang's.
Oh, yeah, good.
I gotta come see you then.
I'll come over there once in a while.
Just come see what I have.
I'll tip you and everything.
Okay.
Hell yeah.
I'm not a server, though.
I'm his server assistant.
But tipping any server would give me—
I get a portion of their tips.
Well, I would just tip you directly.
Oh.
No, I got you.
Trust me.
I mean, and I will go over there.
Thank you.
But it won't be any kind of—
Like, look.
In other words, when I go over there,
it'll be for the better, greater of you.
It isn't, like, a connection that I'll need.
I'm just saying, but I will—
But it's, like, cool to be like,
oh, yeah, you know,
at least we know someone that's there.
Yeah, right.
So it's like, oh, yeah.
There's a lot of really cool people there that I work with.
It's probably one of the better restaurants I've worked at.
Nice.
Yeah, I mean, I've been there a long ass time ago.
Like they say, a long time ago.
Mm-hmm.
And it was good back then.
It's kind of like a combination of Asian food from across the continent.
Guys, if you're in the Albuquerque area,
go check out P.F. Chang's and his spots.
This is where this homie works,
and you might run into him.
Maybe.
My name's Zach Jordan.
Sick.
And do you have an Instagram or—
No, I don't really use Instagram,
but I'm actually kind of like social media low.
But I live near Walter White's house, Breaking Bad.
Oh, that's sick.
Oh, yeah.
And where exactly is that?
That's over there in Bernalillo.
It's by Wyoming and Montgomery.
That's not in Bernalillo, though, I don't think.
Or is it?
No, Bernalillo, the like little subdivision.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, right up there by kind of almost into the Sandias.
Cool.
Yeah, all the time, the lady who owns that Breaking Bad house,
she puts decorations up the ugliest that she can find
so that she can ruin everyone's photos.
Oh, wow.
I've talked to her.
My God.
Because she's really vicious.
Like, she does not like these, like, people.
One day she came home,
and there was someone swimming in her pool in her backyard.
Jesus.
Like, literally, it's the same house that had the pizza tossed up on it.
Damn, that is nuts.
You show up to your house, and someone's swimming in your pool.
It's like, oh, my gosh.
Hey, you know what?
I wanted to do an experiment.
If someone had COVID, I want them to cough in the terrarium
and have it to where it's like, COVID, just to see,
all of a sudden, like, damn.
It's like, all of a sudden, a human's born.
It's like, God damn.
But all of a sudden, something crazy happens.
It's like, holy ----.
Cough into the terrarium, did you say?
Yeah, just say, like, anyone positive for, like, COVID or whatever.
That's funny.
Imagine them, like, being able to get COVID into the terrarium somehow.
I'm just saying, just to see what would happen.
Like, and then expose it to that bacteria that gets eaten.
I just would like to see how that, what that does.
Well, I can tell you what the first reaction is,
is all the little small bugs and creatures.
They're really sensitive.
They would all, like, scatter and, like, try to find cover.
I would want to see if that actually happens, though.
I don't think it would, because, you know,
since we're completely different species,
I imagine, what, isopods are, like, almost related to crustaceans
because they came out of the,
they're almost like they just came out of the sea.
That's how old they are.
Wow, but how?
Because, well, there's these deep sea creatures.
Like, the largest species of isopod
are these, like, humongous, *******, like, pink creatures,
probably about the size right here to my arm.
And they live, well, right at the bottom of the sea,
feeding on decaying whale corpses.
Yeah, pretty gross stuff, but, you know,
they're super vital to the environment
because that's how the whales get turned back into earth, basically.
They get peaked out.
No, like, all that kind of stuff has always interested me
in, like, how the cycle of life works
and the creatures that play a part in it.
And so, then, what do you think you'll do,
like, at some point, career-wise?
I'd really like to study those animals, honestly,
or maybe build self-sustainable housing.
And so, what is stopping you from doing that right now,
like, the studying and everything?
I guess being a wage slave, taking care of my mom.
Oh, yeah.
My mom is super disabled and has a lot of health issues,
so I'm sticking by and taking technical care of her.
Nice. Good.
I think that's better than anything else.
When she does go, I think I'd like to travel.
I've always been interested in Buddhism.
Like, maybe I'd like to go to a monastery or a temple somewhere.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, I'm sure if they're not in hell,
they'd see me and it'd be over.
I feel like your shop suddenly changes every time I come.
That's nuts.
Is that right?
Do I recognize that Pac-Man machine over there?
Oh, yeah, no, that one's new.
That's just for the kids.
Yeah, and watch.
I'll show you.
It's just right up here.
Oh, like the little bubble right there?
Yeah.
You can see it.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
See?
Okay, I'll show this to our maintenance guys.
All right, I appreciate it.
Yeah, yeah.
All right, thank you.
Yeah, don't hesitate to contact me.
All right, thank you for getting back with me.
I appreciate it.
Of course, have a good day.
All right, likewise.
Look at the ceiling.
Was that there when you were?
I don't think so.
Yeah, it wasn't.
That's boring.
That's cool.
This is decked out now.
Yeah, see, I want to have a little UFO crashing all the way over here.
Hell, yeah.
Like it's, you know, that streamlining from like, and then it's like an explosion down there.
Kind of like Star Wars?
Yeah.
Yeah, that'd be cool.
Just having it like, and then being able to see.
It'd be cool to have like a third eye or something that's like transcendental or something.
That would be sick.
Oh, yeah.
Like an Illuminati pyramid or something like that?
Oh, yeah, that would be sick.
Absolutely.
That would be an awesome one, too.
So who does all the painting in here?
Local artist.
He's always in California painting and everything, but when he's out here, I have him come in and do ----.
Like any chance I get with him coming.
You know, I know a artist who works at P.F. Chang's who would be interested in doing art for anybody.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
Well, then, dude, you got to get my info and shoot him my way, and then let's see what he does.
Okay, yeah, dude.
Because it is time to have a little bit of some different art as well.
Like, you know what I mean?
Like now would be a good time to kick in and have different art.
Yeah, he actually does art for P.F. Chang's, and he does murals around town as well.
Oh, yeah, send him to me for sure.
Watch, look at that.
Oh, yeah, that's.
See how bad it is?
And look at the back to where you meant a little bit longer.
Is there a hair somewhere else?
Oh, yeah, there is.
Yeah, see, watch, and then you're in the.
Oh, yeah, okay.
Dude, and my bald spot isn't even that bad as it was.
No, your hair is full.
It looks sick.
Oh, thank you.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
See, watch.
