Welcome to Texas. I'm sorry. Welcome to Washington.
Some broadhead chatter on today's video. It's our last video of the Blake Week. We're gonna
get you guys some aero flight. I can't wait to shoot in the snow. And, um, this Texas boy,
how are we doing in the snow right now? We're, uh, we're making it. Yeah. I don't
have enough layers. You'll be in a t-shirt by tonight when you get home. Yeah, absolutely.
Let's roll, guys. What's up? You look sleepy, bro. I don't like mornings, man,
unless we're elk hunting. We were gonna shoot yesterday, but you saw the wind. That was brutal.
I do notice I shoot pretty low in Texas. It's 300 feet compared to where we're at. I had to,
like, literally, I was having to cut quite a bit, but I wouldn't expected that.
That precision cut app, you just go in and put your elevation in. Isn't that handy? Have you
messed with it yet? Yeah. I'm pretty impressed. I'm going to do a tutorial. What would be cool
is if I could build that site tape and then send the file into Spokane Valley archery or
podiumarcher.com and then they would charge me a fee to print those out on glow in the dark site
tapes. Yeah, I'm working on it. You heard it here first, folks. Do you have a shot warm-up routine
before you shoot a course? If we're going to, like, tack, I definitely do the sighting ranges
because it's different elevation. The routine would be, for me, the more I shoot at the practice
range, the better I'm going to do on the course that day. Like, if we sat here and warmed up for
a while, probably knowing that I'm impacting left today. And also, that's a good thing to note,
like, dude, some days you got to move your windage. You're just, for whatever reason,
you're impacting left. Don't be afraid to move your windage a little bit. Not every day, but,
like, today I'm going to have to move a few more clicks left. But once I find that stride,
it's game on. Jeff's going to earn his money today, boy. So, are we ready for real now?
Do you shoot a lot of 3D? Yeah, I do. A lot of ASA, local stuff. Some of the ASA circuits
down in the southeast. Oh, God. We're going to shoot a beaver. Yes, I am. That's kind of a tack
shot where, like, foam's kind of cool. Yeah, it's kind of cool. Can I shoot another one? Definitely.
Money. That looked like it, wasn't it? Yeah. Nice. What a great course, though. Like,
just the place to shoot. Not far from the house. 20-minute drive. It's awesome. You're lucky.
So fortunate. But I think I need to come out here a little more often.
I could go for a hot chocolate right now. Is that a bad thing? Surprisingly, I'm hitting low.
That's weird. Yeah. I would expect you to be a little hot here. These are some new
aero builds for me, though, too. Same hair, but that's always my excuse. That felt good.
How's the cold hands? It's horrible. Your hands are small. Yeah, very small.
They can't tell. Look at the size of this dude's hand. Can you see that?
He can palm a basketball. It's snowing. It's cool. At least we're shooting. But really,
guys, what we came here today is to test some rod heads, flight. We might put them through
something metal just to kind of see what kind of hole they make and go over the TOG offerings,
because I'm always looking to try different rod heads, quite honestly. Always looking.
Still haven't found the one. You know what I mean? Yep.
Oh, my God. There you go. Oh, dude, right on top of the tent.
So that's good group, man. I think you found your dope.
This is Blake, Blake Kidder, the Outdoor Group. This is Blake Week. Last video,
we're at the Spokane Valley Archer Range. We just shot the course warmed up. So we're going to do
look at these broad heads real quick, and then we'll shoot them through something kind of metal
just to kind of reveal the kind of hole these broad heads leave. Quick, tried and true is going
to be just your Slick Trick standards, one-inch cuts. Tried and true. My favorite fixed-bladed
broad head is a standard 100. Let's move on to the Viper Trick. It's an inch and 16th. Still a
four-blade. Still the same replacement system where you can buy replaceable blades, run it
through the ferrule. Viper Trick is very popular. It's more of a cut-on contact head with the
chisel tip. The next one is the one that kind of piqued my curiosity the most is the Wicked Trick,
inch and a quarter. It looks pretty vicious. Can it fly good at 60? That's what I'm worried about,
but it does look devastating. This broad head is an absolute hammer. It's one of the newer heads
over the past four years to the Slick Trick lineup. It's devastating. So the SS3 is a solid
stainless steel broad head. It's machined out of one piece. It's designed so that as an archer,
if you want to sharpen your broad head, reuse a broad head, just grab a flat stone,
you're ready to go. This last one kind of gives me an Iron Will vibe. What's that one?
So this is the new Slick Trick Revival. It is a double bevel broad head with bleeders,
fully made out of all stainless steel. A broad head that may look similar to some
other of the broad heads in the market. Double bevel broad head is a new offering to Slick Trick.
This is the Viper Trick. That was the Viper Trick? Check. All right, we're going standard 100.
This is the Slick Trick Wicked Trick. I like his mohawk right now. It's just luscious.
SS3? SS3. This is the one that I'm kind of interested in checking out.
I bet you it's good after the shot. Yeah.
Revival. Ooh, Revival. We ain't seen one do that yet. You've got to get some penetration.
I don't know where they are. Maybe if you shoot just a little bit lower,
you're guaranteed to hit two. Last one. What is this one?
SS3. SS3.
You're going to have to explain why the Revival did penetrate a little bit more there.
Yeah. Show it from the back. You can see if you look, you can see where they all hit.
Tink, tink, and he missed it there. So that's part of why that got such great penetration.
Every other one that hit both pieces of metal didn't get all the way through.
Sweet. All right, we're going to do...
