You can get this card for free in Ireland and you can carry this to any EU country and you can get yourself treated whenever in need. So keep watching the video and I'll explain you how you can get it and what are the benefits of having this card. So anyone who has a private public service number PPSN number in Ireland, they can get this card very easily and the benefits of having this card is that if you encounter any emergency situation in any of the EU countries, for example in France, so you can get the medical services by showing this card for free in any of the public hospitals. So I will now let you know how you can apply for this and get this. First of all, open your browser and type there EHIC card which is European health insurance card. So once the link appears, just click on that and it will take you to the website of EHIC. Select apply for HSA card Ireland and then just scroll down and there are three options. If you live in Ireland, you can apply in person, by post or online. So you can only apply online if you have any medical card or if you have drug payment scheme card with you, otherwise you won't be eligible for online application. Then there are some contact offices in Cork, in Dublin, in Galway, so in every county these offices are available. So just select whichever is relevant for you. Now we'll move up again. So if we are applying in person, we have already seen the local offices there and we'll have to give our details, name, date of birth, DPS number etc. Then if we are applying by post, then we'll have to fill this form. We just click on it and it will appear now. So this is a form, this has very easy fields to fill out. Once you have filled these out, you can complete these and just dispatch it to any of the local offices you selected on the list of offices there. Then in case of applying online, if you are eligible, just click on apply online here and you will be redirected to online form. So these fields are also very easy. And then when we have entered our address, we can at the end select the local office, whichever county we have selected which is relevant to us. Just select it and proceed online. Secondly, we can see from this list which countries accept this EHIC card. So these are the EU countries, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia etc. And then we will click here countries that get treatment with EHIC and from here we can get to know what we need to do to avail these services and what is the coverage offered by these countries or these hospitals.
