Hey guys, we're in Faenza and we're going to give you a little factory tour.
We've got some fun things along the way, so come with us.
That's so impossible. I'm done.
I've always wanted to do this.
Might just send it for a while out to be honest.
Ciao.
Is the pet shop in here?
Ciao mate, you okay?
All good?
Hi mate, how are you?
What's that?
I don't know mate.
Dude, this is not... I got a small glove.
So we're in the paint shop now. We are going to be doing a bit of cutting.
I think we're going to be adding the new summer edition can onto the halo.
All right, let's see who can do it better.
I can't lie, using this and also having a piece of paper,
it kind of reminds me of DT class in school.
But yeah, how does this work then?
All right, I think this is how the pros do it, right?
They just go like this?
Yeah, it's great.
They go like this?
You do the half stick, right?
Yeah.
And then just...
Does it smell citrusy?
It smells like lime actually.
I would say it smells like some actual lime.
Like what?
I don't know what he's talking about.
His face, he's just like...
Get a load of this guy.
You know what, maybe I start with the bottom and the half stick.
Bosh.
It's all right, mate, we can be here for a bit longer.
Do you want another attempt?
I have done two attempts.
That is perfect.
Yours looks like s***.
That looks way better.
Yeah, if you give us your expert opinion, whose is better?
Number one, that one.
First attempt as well.
It's all right, mate.
How can you say that this one's better?
What's better about it?
Look at the can.
It's more centred.
It's well centred.
It's all right, mate.
You have to start and put it centred on the panel.
You can see that it's like a little bit curvy.
But you can start from here and just follow with the squeegee that surface.
Bro, this is so much harder.
And then this.
Yeah, go.
That's f***ing terrible.
That's so impossible.
I'm done.
That is impossible.
That bit there is impossible.
Do you really think this is going on the car, mate?
Have you seen this?
This bit's going on the car?
Oh, I'm down.
How's it going, mate?
Yeah, mate.
Loads of aero on that bad boy.
Hang on a second.
I have no idea what that did.
Oh, I just scratched it.
Okay.
No.
What do you mean?
I thought it was good recovery.
I thought it was good.
Like, the fun bit is you do one bit and then there's like one other slight bit.
I'm doing it here, but now I've got to go back because this has now started to come up.
It's just like, I don't know, to be honest.
That looks good.
Very good.
Thank you.
No, I'm actually really happy with that.
I feel like that's coming out real good.
Do I have a look at that?
How's yours, Arvin?
Oh, you've got creases here, bro.
I can see that, all right.
Trust me, he's not gonna be happy.
I had to redo it.
It's like the smallest crease.
I told you, I told you.
I've tried so hard.
Yeah, don't go like that.
Don't go like that.
There you go.
I don't think that looks very good.
Mate, I didn't ask for your feedback.
We've been here for like 20 minutes.
Mate, but you've seen how good this is.
Have you seen, look at mine, look at that, look at that.
Have you seen how good this is?
So whose is better?
Huh?
Whose is better?
At the end.
I think, I think it's 50-50 because you made it up.
Yeah, you made it.
Yes.
Steering wheel.
All right, now we're in the sim room.
Simulator, it's obviously a crucial part of preparation for each race weekend.
It's a crucial part of development as well.
We can't test the cars.
So obviously in an ideal world, we go every single week and we drive the car, but we can't do that.
So we spend a lot of time here developing the car setups before each race weekend and trying to
basically arrive to the track and have the best setup to start Friday.
So this is one of our two sims.
This is the Italy one.
It's a bit more, it's a bit more simple, a bit smaller, but it's still really good
for all that sort of development, all the sort of practicing, all the fundamentals are the same.
This is one of the two sims that we drive.
All right, so I'm going to go.
I'm going to get ready now.
Get ready for my sim session.
I'm going to get suited up.
So see you in a bit.
If literally nobody wears a suit in the simulator, I've never worn a suit in the simulator.
Never in my life have I worn a suit in the simulator.
Dude, who made this like Alcantara, bro?
That's not...
I'm in.
We're good to go.
And where do all that Freud is going?
Yeah, that's the racing line.
We just have the coins, like subway surfers.
And then like to experiment with different lines, they put like different ways around.
So every lap you come around is different and you've got to figure out the best path.
All right, guys, I'm going to get in now.
Unfortunately, you're not going to be allowed here, but
I'm sure you can see some cool stuff from the back.
No, not this fancy.
I've got a smaller version and it doesn't move around.
All right, it's time to drive now.
The light is still on just to normally I'd have them off,
but just it's easier to show you all what I'm doing.
If you can get a bit clearer view.
Yeah, also normally would wear a helmet, but it's a bit easier to talk like this.
So the simulator is designed to move in a way that creates
the feeling of driving a car.
So right now, as I'm steering through the first couple of corners of Canada,
I can feel through the simulator that the car is moving.
I can feel the steering wheel that everything is moving in a way
that the car would move or as close to it.
And it gives me a sensation of what the car balance is doing.
Obviously, it's very good for us because we get to learn basically,
I guess, the repetition of driving the track that we're about to go to.
But you can see, obviously, Canada very, very bumpy.
You can hear it.
That's all the motion that's going on right now,
which is very realistic because Canada is a very, very bumpy track.
In the end, it's about making everything as realistic,
as similar to the real car as possible.
So we can get better references for driving ourselves,
give better feedback to the team.
In the end, try to just make everything a little bit quicker on track,
especially for me.
You know, we're coming up to Canada in a couple of weeks time.
And, yeah, it's my first time there as a spring weekend.
So to be able to do some laps, to get references, to understand approaches,
to sort of just get those sort of feelings
like I'm at the track before I get there is really powerful.
You know, as I'm sure you could imagine,
you know, going to a completely new circuit, completely new things.
To only have, you know, maybe six, seven, eight laps in FP
to sort of figure out is not very easy.
Might just send it for a hot lap, to be honest.
Feeling like this could be a pretty good lap.
Coming down on turn one, a lot of kerb used here.
Oh, car's feeling hooked up as well.
For the team as well, doing setup stuff, you know, doing stuff with the energy,
you know, for the engines this year, that's a big thing.
Making sure we get all our modes for quality, for the race,
in as best position as possible is super beneficial for all of that as well.
So using all the track now up against the wall,
a little bit of the right kerb, left kerb.
Very fun track to drive this one because of the kerbs that you can use.
Normally Formula One cars aren't very good on kerbs.
Like, you know, in other sports you have, you can play, you know,
in football, rugby, you know, cricket, you're always playing.
Whereas for us in racing, it's quite unique compared to other sports.
We can't really actually practice.
This is our only way of practicing and, you know, staying sharp and getting better.
So yeah, that's why it's so important for all of us.
I'm three and a half seconds up on my lap.
3.6 seconds, boom, that's a lap.
Yeah, they move quite a lot to be honest.
I mean, they try to make it as close as the real car.
And maybe, I assume from the outside, you don't really notice it.
But I mean, there is a lot of movement and it's not just, you know, sideways.
It's sort of a lot of up and down.
And yeah, it does move a lot.
It does feel a bit like a roller coaster,
especially when you're going so quick, like 300 kph on the straights.
Yeah, it feels like you're driving the real thing.
See you again.
Ciao.
Ciao, guys.
Ciao.
Ciao, tutti.
Ciao.
Use the balls of your foot.
Oh mate, hang on, hang on.
Sorry.
13 is it?
Who is it?
Jeff.
A lot of hard work, a lot of long hours.
Seeing some of the guys today, meeting you guys and seeing what you've been up to,
it's, I know, a lot of long hours.
So we appreciate it a lot.
I mean, it's been a big change for me in Formula 1 this year.
And every one of you has been really kind.
Today, we got a tour of the factory.
We got to see a bit more appreciation of what you all do.
So I just want to say thank you very much for all the effort you put in.
Thank you.
You take a selfie.
Thank you.
Yeah.
I like the steering wheel.
That looks smart.
You reckon we take it off?
Should we get in it?
That looks technical, no?
I think that's fast.
This could be like a rally wheel.
What's on a rally steering wheel?
Nah, that's a Formula 4 steering wheel.
I remember I was always doing that stuff on iRacing,
when I get down to a rookie licence and try to get my points.
That's so much fun, bro.
Have you ever played the F1 2010 game?
Nah, that was before my time.
That was my first F1 game.
You were three?
No, you weren't.
In 2010, I was three.
How old was I?
Seven.
Do you like the front wing?
Yeah, that's a real nice front wing.
That looks like performance, no?
Can you give me a visual description?
I think it needs to be a bit longer, no?
I don't think it's long enough.
It's got a tip at the end.
I don't really know what's going on there.
Liam.
Yo.
You know loads about engines.
What?
Talk us through the engine.
You want me to talk you through the engine?
Yeah.
You like your six rotary, you know?
Six rotary?
It's a quadrotor, actually.
All right, a quadrotor.
All right, mate.
I have no idea what's going on here.
Do you know, like, can you tell me where the...
Exhaust comes out there.
Yeah, okay.
Where's the turbo?
Nah, mate, why don't you show me where the turbo is?
Turbo's in there.
Turbo's like tucked in behind.
Oh, that's my car!
Look at that!
I didn't know we actually had one of my cars here.
Wow.
I only did like five races in this car.
Is that actually yours?
It is yours, no?
It looks used.
These are such cool cars.
And you know it's actually Gary?
Yeah.
All right, guys.
Final stop here.
Pit stop practice.
This is where the team practices for our race weekends.
Obviously, it's a very, very important part of the race.
A lot of time and positions can be made up and lost in the pit stop.
So obviously, a lot of hours are spent in here.
And we're going to experiment and try and have a go.
Oh, yeah, mate.
I'm taking this seriously.
I've always wanted to do this.
When the car will arrive, you will go inside.
You have to push.
You have to push a lot.
Push a lot?
Yeah.
You have to use this one.
Yeah.
His job looks way easier than mine.
Do you know how hard it is to hold this camera?
Are you sure?
Yeah.
I'm not sure.
Ready, guys?
Yeah.
Mate, honestly, I don't know about you, but I reckon just scrap the whole part today
and literally just put the title as Arvin and Liam do pit stop practice.
And just include this bit and it would go viral.
Thanks for watching, guys.
Hope you enjoyed the tour.
Guys, we're getting one thing.
Oh, yeah.
Don't forget to like and subscribe.
See you in the next video.
Bosh.
