Welcome back just steps away from our studio in New York
City, the 38th International Contemporary Furniture Fair,
also known as ICFF is kicking off today. While the fair
showcases many directions from bold designs to technological
creativity. Some exhibitors stood out for their commitment
to natural materials and real world. Let's take a look.
We're exhibiting our collection of planters this year. They're
all architectural and made to order planters and cast
concrete. They're cast by hand and they're all made to order.
We sell only to the design trade. My concept for the
installation, which we called the temple. The temple really
means to have a reverence for the natural world. I'm trying to
express and to celebrate the extravagance of of plant
material and the plant kingdom. For me, it was about creating a
vessel that was worthy of having this plant material in it. So
you can display the plant like a living piece of sculpture.
What makes it very special is that we only use natural
materials, no latex, no foam, no off gases. Our systems are
individually pocketed springs. So it's a traditional spring
system, which supports your body evenly throughout. So when you
lay in a Heston's, you're going to feel this weightlessness
sensation. And the best thing about it is our beds are
engineered to last 50 to 100 years. We are a heritage
company. So it's family owned. We're in fifth generation. And
we're about to go into sixth generation family. So we have
stored across the globe about 300 or more. And it's still
growing.
This year's edition reflects an industry increasingly drawn to
honest materials and human centered comfort. The 38th
International Contemporary Furniture Fair will run through
next Tuesday, May 19. Don't miss it if you'd like to look
for new furniture with unique designs and ideas.
