Shunsuke Togami vs Lin Shidong | MT - Final | #ITTFWorlds2026

Worried about the backhand, he came out in the quarters and just lit it up. So clean, absolutely creams it. When these two start slinging it's so much fun. Being the world number one. I think he's really benefited from a bit of a break. They never will. And look at it. You're just lucky to feed off the scrap. He's like a pitbull. Doesn't let go of the branch, Tagami. I feel like he wants to get into top gear straight away from Suke. I would like to see a little bit more calm. And he's gonna need the second opportunity. Breaks and pumps the fist. What a good timeout. To start out the second game and it's Tagami who survived the flick of the net. It's a pending doom when he winds back for that backhand, especially. That's good from Tagami. That's his speed there. Didn't do anything wrong there but that was Shidong's brilliance. Left the door open again. Team China one. He's actually hurting him the most here. Most times it's Tagami. The net scare. The feeling and then look at how from Shinsuke. He knows outside the box stuff I would say. Is there still life in Japan yet? Astonishing table tennis. Huge attacking shots. Lin Shidong with that trade match. Incredible. To make sure he got it over the line. But he probably would have used it now if he had it. The Japanese star must go on. Tagami needed to get this game and he has done. And will that dent the confidence? China are timeless. Timelessly dominant. This time we've seen he's going down all guns blazing. He is. That's the thing. You Pitbull as well. To this world. Shot for shot. Power for power. He steps up in the round of 16.
