We've needed to do this for a long time. We're going to load the Smart car on our Volvo semi-truck and head to Kansas City to have Voyager upgraded. It's been a long time coming but we need to do this so we don't get stuck! We are also going to upgrade our Smart with a new and very unique feature so we can carry our e-bikes.

Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe speakers are documenting the modification process for their vehicle, Voyager, and their smart car, Pathfinder. The journey involves traveling from Tennessee through Arkansas to Kansas to strip the truck's bed, upgrade the hitch, and repower the tandems at a specialized shop to increase the vehicle's capability.
The Voyager has been evicted. And they've already taken Pathfinder, our smart car.
One of these keys. One of these keys. Fits the lock that we need to take off. What is up with that?
I've been exposed.
All right, forgive my voice. He's been playing in the cotton fields. Yeah, really.
This is not Alaska. She's got her park on.
We're getting ready to load the Smart because we're starting the modification process. Yes.
She was calling it the mod squad. That kind of dates her just a little bit. Oh, yeah.
So we're going to load it up, head to Kansas, and start this whole process with removing the bed,
adding the tandems, getting the hitch on the Smart, coming back here,
taking a couple of weeks of break, and then heading back out to get everything back together again.
It's gonna be a busy couple of weeks. Yeah, not much of a break. No. It'll be great when it's done.
Yeah.
Voyager has been evicted. We ended up having to park Voyager
all the way over there. David is going to get Voyager and bring it back here so that we can
load it up and get ready for our big road trip. We are making a quick little pit stop.
Got to get the hitch off of Curiosity. Yes. David dropped Curiosity off here at the
day spa where he's going to get a complete spa treatment. Yes, get the arctic dust
off of Curiosity. Yeah, the dust in the crud. Oh, there's Curiosity. One of these keys.
Fits the lock that we need to take off. So you guys realize you've been having issues
with locks lately. This one, the kingpin lock. Oh, I know. Yay.
Well, that was a quick pit stop, thankfully. Very quick. And now we're heading on to Dennis,
Kansas in about 650 miles. Yes. Hopefully we'll make it tonight.
Not we've got our bed behind us, just in case.
It's lunchtime. We found, I actually could park right there.
Found this Lowe's and park in their parking lot and walk over to Chick-fil-A.
So width wise, we just fit perfectly in between here. We're no different than a big dually.
Length wise though, I would say we might be sticking out, but this dually truck, he's way
over the line.
It's just what I do when I'm out.
The quickest travels through a state. We're done with Tennessee. Now on to Arkansas.
We had a nice stay last night and now we're headed to
RVH Lifestyles to let the work begin. Yes, we're gonna strip Voyager naked. Oh my.
So are you ready? If I'm not, I've got to be. Yeah, I'm ready. This will be exciting.
Well, that was easy. That was quick. What about the top one? Oh yeah. Did you get up there? Oh
yeah. Oh wow. Yeah. All gone. All gone. All this too. All gone. All right. Well, I can't believe
that didn't take long, but how much stuff you have. What is up with that? I've been exposed.
You have been exposed. Yeah, I don't say you're dirty little laundry, but it is kind of dirty.
It's dirty, yes. Yeah, but I use all of it at some point. You do. I do. Well, we are
truckless and carless just for a couple of hours, so we're gonna go hang out in the customer lounge
and I'm gonna work on my journal. I guess David's gonna work on videos. I guess. I'm gonna upload
some stuff. Yeah, so there we go. Last chance to see what Voyager looks like all dressed up.
That's right, and they've already taken Pathfinder, our smart car. Oh, he's gone. So he's gone. So
it's all starting to be transformed for the better. Is it flexing? I have no frame of reference.
You're gonna tip our car over, Jack.
That looks good.
Well, that's 250 pounds on there.
Yeah, that looks really good. So this is the hitch that we had
the after, and this little wimpy thing is what we had before.
Here's the flex test. Oh no, you just squished in the car. Yeah, look how solid that is.
Getting ready for the big day. We have to drive separately for a little bit. For the first three
hours. Yeah, 150 miles up to Kansas City, Missouri to drop off Voyager. Voyager is now naked.
Naked as a jaybird, but we're street legal. We've got some taillights and some
really cute makeshift mud flaps, which is required to be road worthy. We are making a little pit stop
let the fueling begin. At least it's in Pathfinder, and I think we're going to be fueling
quite a bit. Get used to it. We're not going to be in, I guess Voyager is going to drag,
or Pathfinder is going to drag Voyager down. Yeah, so yeah, this will get us to Kansas City.
Yeah, and a little bit beyond. RVH Lifestyles, we're heading up through Parsons, Kansas
on our way to Kansas City to get our tandems powered up so that we have a little more capable
semi truck. I will say it is weird having Pathfinder, our smart car,
following behind me, and it's strange not having a bed on this truck. It looks different,
handles different, but it is just weird having Pathfinder following me. I usually do that.
Normally it's always up on the truck, so Pathfinder is having to work today. All right,
we are here at Custom Truck in Kansas City getting ready to have Voyager stripped.
Oh, down to the rails. All the way down. All the way down. It's already stripped right now. Yeah,
it's pretty stripped right now, but even more so. And this is going to stop being the problem,
and it's going to start being the solution. We're going to get the tandems repowered so
that both have power. And now, after that, then we can go to a lot of places, no doubt about it.
Yep, so we're going to have the work done, and we'll come back getter when it's all finished.
Okay, we probably should have packed the car first instead of putting everything in
Voyager. Probably. To make sure it all fits. But it fits. It fits. Yeah. We just got rearing.
