Hey Luxury Home Show, it's Hannah and today we are somewhere really special. Perched high above
the dramatic north coast of Jersey, with uninterrupted views all the way across to France,
this is Highcliffe, a beautifully restored country estate that perfectly blends traditional character
with modern luxury. This is where all of life's little moments are happening that you take for
granted, but that make a house a home. Now you could settle down and watch a film, you know,
got big screen, blackout curtains, but that is your focal point. This is your original 18th
century fireplace with a wood-burning stove. It is very rare to find a property that has
coastal views, land and equestrian private fields. So if you're a horse lover, you're gonna love this.
Well would you look at that, absolutely gorgeous and I feel like I've stepped back in time
and I'm about to see Mr Darcy riding towards me over on the hilltop, I wish. Now the property is
a bit of accommodation of a classic granite farmhouse, a grand period home and a contemporary
new build and it is a combination of all three actually. The original building dates back to the
1800s and the facade and the shell that we can see is actually listed, but it's been restored
and extended into what we can see today. It is beautifully symmetrical, you've got that slate
roof, jersey granite stonework on the outside, loads of sash windows and even that grand pillared
entrance and the tiles on the floor are all original. You've got access through double
electric gates, plenty of parking out here at the front, but there's loads more at the back as well
if you did have a party. But this side of the island definitely feels more rural, you're in the
middle of the countryside, I mean I can literally see a couple of cows looking at me right now.
You're on 15 acres of land which includes sweeping lawns, woodlands, equestrian fields and access to
coastal walks that take you down to the bay and some of the best views that Jersey has to offer.
This home is designed for both living and escaping and it only gets better inside.
Into the entrance hallway and this sets the tone for the rest of the house. It's this great balance
of splendour and comfort. So on the floor we've got these rich dark wooden tones and then on top of
that, I would call it carpeting, but actually it's just one massive bespoke rug. Okay, it's great
underfoot, but I have to say I think I'd rather see more of that wood. And then that, that tone,
it's sort of mimicked in the walnut tones in this original bannister. This staircase takes you up
all the floors, all three floors. This is actually listed as well and is a lovely contrast to the
more pale tones we're seeing on the walls and on the floor. But all of it, the wall panelling,
the cornicing, the ceiling rose, the chandelier, it's all giving that timeless appeal and grandeur.
Now, you're probably wondering about backs, figures and layout. Okay, we've got six bedrooms,
four of them are in the main house, multiple entertaining areas, a pool, pool house, guest house,
lots to see. But first, I'm going to take you through to my right, to the dining room.
Look how well I match, right? The complete fluke as well, by the way, because they've only just
redressed it, but I get a feeling about these things. And the feeling that I get in here,
I mean, this is stunning, isn't it? Your formal dining room. This is the kind of space that
if you got invited here for a dinner party, you'd be like, guess where we're going for dinner
tonight? Yeah, the Bridgertons. The Bridgertons. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, I would not mind being
invited to dinner around here. Wow. And I think the atmosphere would completely change. So this
is great in the day, lovely for a Sunday roast, you know, beautiful, light and airy. But come the
evening, you know, when you've got the roaring fire going on with this marble surrounding,
just the chandeliers. Oh, absolute resplendence. It's just got this lovely feeling in here of that
traditional English. You know, everything from the carpet, underfoot, you'd have to be careful
with red wine on the table. And then the colourings. Like to me, I know everyone sees colours
differently, but to me, that's olive. That's olive. So a lovely warming tone there. And all of the
soft furnishings just make it feel incredibly inviting. We've got lovely draped curtains here,
neatly tucked around in that panel. And down here is the kitchen. So perfect for
ferrying your food through. It's not often you descend into your kitchen and I am here for it.
But my eyes are immediately drawn up to that vaulted ceiling. Phenomenal. It just opens this
space up and feels light, airy and bright. But saying that, you still have that cosy kitchen
countryside feel to it as well. This house nails that combination of blending old and new. Now,
the kitchen itself and all the cabinetry has a real heritage feel to it. And I mean,
that painting, that must have been an absolute task getting that in here. It's huge. Wow.
Farmhousing, liking the vibes. And then up here, we've got a massive kitchen island,
the hub of the kitchen. This is marble topped. A lot of the homes that we tour and the kitchens,
they're open plan. They lean very heavily into that entertaining lifestyle,
which you could absolutely do here. But it feels much more family orientated. You know,
like everyone's piling in around here. The kids are up here having breakfast,
coffees. There's something happening all the time, cooking. It just feels really inviting and yummy,
you know? And of course, it's separate to the dining room. So this is sort of its own space.
So if you did want to just come in here, do the cooking, get your head down,
you don't have to worry about any distractions. You've got some nice display cabinets,
got all of your glasses that light up as well. And then plenty of storage with those lovely
soft closes. Honestly, the craftsmanship is outstanding. This is when attention to detail
really sings and things like cupboards and drawers and oh, it's lovely. And then over here,
we've got the most enviable pantry unit. Wow. I think this is, I'm going to add this to another
I've made it in life. Wine cooler and now pantry unit. You could do anything with this.
It could be for your spices, maybe your kettle, your toaster. This color looks very similar to
the olive that we saw in the dining room. So great cohesion between those two rooms.
And the matching unit over here, let me back you up, back you up, is your integrated,
and I like that they've done it this way rather than vertical, landscape. You have your double
freezer. And then up here, your double fridge. And it's all there. You have access out onto the
patio and the outbuildings, which I'm looking forward to showing you later. But let's have
a little bit more of an explore on storage. You've got every bit of space they've made the most out
of. Like this, they made an indentation, didn't have to do that, but they did. And then either
side, we've got these. Oh, that's good for your herbs and your spices. And then we've got a
bin storage. More under here as well. Now it wouldn't be a farmhouse without an agar. This
really anchors the room in that traditional cottage warm, both literally and visually.
But saying that, you do have underfloor heating as well. Take the Sunday roasts, you could make
in this. And because it's obviously a modern one, you don't have to have this on all the time. But
I like being warm. I love being warm. So I'd have this on probably all the time. And then a bit
further down here, cupboard, oven, more storage. Hello. Didn't see you earlier. We've got a wine
fridge. Yeah, there we go. That's a good of me, that. Ooh, lovely. Okay. So to make it in life,
need that. I need the pantry unit. First, I need to get the house though, don't I?
Okay, we're making another little drop into a room that at first you don't always notice,
but if it wasn't here, you would miss instantly. The utility boot laundry room.
Isn't it gorgeous? This is so nice. I mean, it's been kitted out to the same high finishes
as the kitchen. We've got marble work tops, really durable finishes in here and ideal for
maybe your more mucky things. Obviously you're doing your laundry, toaster, kettle and coffee
maker. Same cabinetry again, although unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, that is a
different colour to the kitchen, right? I don't know. To me, that's like mushroom, but let me know
in the comments if you're seeing that differently, but that's different. And then down here, you've
got a very organised fitted coat storage section. This is built for countryside living, isn't it?
You've got access again out onto the patio. So, you know, maybe the kids are coming in after a
muddy walk, the dog, you're washing them. This is where all of life's little moments are happening
that you take for granted, but that make a house a home. I should write that down. Now, speaking of
homes, De Casa Homes. These are the guys, the brains behind this project. They have planned it,
built it, designed it, all of the interiors. So thank you because I am loving it. And
yeah, I may need that later because it's a little chilly out. This is one of your three reception
rooms, your formal living room. It has a very similar aesthetic to the dining room, which I
really like because chances are you're going to be bringing your after dinner drinks in here to
relax and converse with one another. We have more contemporary lower sofas in here,
but some antique touches to add character and depth. And again, a nod to the heritage of the
building, including more of that wall panelling, the cornicing. There's even another layer of
cornicing as well to make it feel even more elegant. We've got sumptuous green curtains,
carpets. This room is understated luxury. In fact, no scrap that. I actually think this is
the kind of room screaming, look at me. Now, there's no TV here. Not going to be scrolling
on your phone. You're going to be chilling, relaxing next to the fire, chatting and admiring
your lovely surroundings. Now, this is where the tone switches up a bit. This feels much more
relaxing and homely. I mean, look at this chair. Oh, look at the textures.
And I'm not part of the conversation whatsoever. Love the chair. Don't like the placement. Oh,
I want to be here sinking into one of these sofas. Oh, this is lovely. Now, you could settle down
and watch a film. You know, got big screen, blackout curtains, integrated sonar surround
system, which the whole house has, by the way. But that is your focal point. This is your original
18th century fireplace with a wood-burning stove. Nothing screams relaxation more than the
subtle flickering of the flame. What's that? Your hand's looking a little bit bare, Hannah.
Yes, it is. Thank you for pointing that out. And that's when you just pop around your own
home bar, fix yourself a drink. Now, if you've never had Chambord, a little bit of that in a
glass of bubbly, you haven't lived. Try that. Back into the entrance hallway, we've got one
last thing to show you down here before we head upstairs to see the bedrooms. Downstairs, we've
a very elegant WC with a statement mirror. Now, this is going to be your guest's bathroom,
so you want them to be able to check themselves out. The Bridgertons are lucky to have us.
There's cooling tones everywhere, but it doesn't feel clinical.
And we have more of that underfloor heating.
Coming up onto the first floor, and this Jersey Oak banister just reminds me of those
sweeping staircases in Bridgerton or a Jane Austen novel. And I think Mr. Darcy would approve,
wouldn't he? Now, at the beginning of the video, I said that there were six bedrooms.
Four of them are in the main house, but two upstairs. And on this floor, you have not one,
but two principal suites. And we're going in the main one first. It's giving five star luxury
boutique hotel. It's so lavish. And all of the soft furnishings, the lighting,
quite opulent, but quiet opulence, you know? Actually, one thing I've just noticed is the
colour in here is the same as downstairs. That creates great cohesion throughout the whole
property. It's a soothing colour, easy to work with, but adds that subtle warmth, as does your
fireplace. Having a fireplace in the bedroom, come on. And then through here is your en suite.
Well, this is a contrast, isn't it? White, clean, contemporary sanitary wear. You've got a huge tub
here to relax in and soak up those views. Double basins, and then a massive walk-in shower,
lovely tiles, double niches. I've never seen that before. Do you know, if I had to choose
between double basins or double niches, I would go double niche all the way,
all the stuff lined up. Yeah. Then a full walk-in wardrobe, ready to be filled with all of your
coats, bags, shoes, sunglasses, and then the perfect place to sit and wait and review your
partner's outfit choices. Yes. No. Yeah, you look great. You look fine. That one's fine.
Across the landing into principal suite 2.0. Again, another generously sized room,
similar aesthetic. This one's got green curtains, nice display cabinet, a fireplace,
no one is shortchanged. Vanity unit, great for maybe doing your makeup. And around there is
your walk-in wardrobe and en suite. Bit smaller than the other one, but still plenty of space.
Look at the storage and the depth in those inbuilt wardrobes.
Even though this en suite is a bit more compact than the other one, it's still a great size.
Double basins, full on bath, and they've made a great use of space over here in using this
clever shelving unit for all of your towels and bits and pieces. I don't know how many people are
staying, but the specs and the finishes throughout all of the bathrooms are impeccable. Heading up
to the top floor. Before we get there, I wanted to show you this window feature. So all of the
original sash windows have either been replaced or restored. So keeping the aesthetic of the
original building. And then up here we have a little porthole so that on a clear day and
you're a bit taller than me, you'd be able to see some of the other channel islands.
Now this is the perfect room for the kids. As you can see, it's been set up with twin beds.
They've been a bit more playful up here. I mean, if I was a kid, I would not want to leave here.
It definitely feels a lot more cocooning because you're up here in the eaves, all these architectural
details of this sort of vaulted ceiling, original beams, great use of space with inbuilt wardrobes,
and it has an en suite. Again, the specs are beautiful. It feels a little bit spa-like in
there as well. Lucky kids. Bedroom number four. Again, ideal for a kid, maybe a teenager. They've
got the whole suite to themselves. So a bit of privacy. I love how this bed has been positioned.
It makes really good use of the space. You can see all of these beams as well. En suite,
more of those inbuilt cupboards and a space here for a reading nook and office. Great if you're
visiting. But if I was staying over, I would want to be in the guest house, which is where we are
going next. Well, leaving the main house and the kitchen, this is the patio that I mentioned
earlier, and there we have the most fantastic view of the back of the house. This is a great
example of typical Jersey Georgian architecture. All of this is parking space, but you do get a
double garage as well. That is the pool and the pool house. Come on this way. We will see that,
but first we're going to the guest house that would be ideal for a nanny, an au pair, or maybe
the teenagers who have slightly outgrown the main house. Let's go and have a look. It's two
floors. We're up on the top one in the living quarters. I'll tell you what, this doesn't feel
like your usual added on granny annex. This is a beautifully designed apartment that still has
the same level of finishes, of specs, of luxury that the main house does. Maybe it's a little
bit more contemporary. It's light, bright, and airy. I love this vaulted ceiling and the skylight,
and there's a lovely flow and energy from the living room into the kitchen. Back downstairs,
and both bedrooms have en-suites, walk-in wardrobes, underfloor heating, and if you
didn't want to use this as a guest house, I don't think home offices come much better than this.
Now off to the pool house, but just around the corner to my right, you've actually got
stables. It is very rare to find a property that has coastal views, land, and equestrian
private fields. So if you're a horse lover, you're gonna love this. The cherry on top of the cake,
a 15 meter heated swimming pool with a retractable electronic cover. I mean, even on a chilly day
like today, that water is looking very tempting. It is pristine out here, crisp edges, you've got
sun loungers. I mean, come the summer, this is going to be incredible, but no pool is complete
without a pool house. Would you believe that this is a brand new building? It's using that
lovely jersey granite because planning insists that you need to keep the same aesthetic as the
original building, which I love. I mean, this is party central, isn't it? It has been completely
kitted out for entertaining. You've got a dining setup, fully functioning kitchen, shower,
changing facilities, Sonos integrated speakers, underfloor heating. I mean, you can imagine,
can't you? Throwing a barbecue, the kids are running in and out, dive bombing into the pool,
the parents are relaxing with a drink. I mean, when the summer starts hotting up,
so does the socialising. And finally, out here, you have got these sprawling infinity lawns
that drop into the sea and down to the historic harbour of Bonnewie Bay and those incredible
views. You are so secluded and private here, and Jersey's just the best place to live.
It's beautiful, it's safe, it's tax friendly, and you can pop over from London in under an hour.
What's not to love? Well, I really hope that you've enjoyed today's episode. I've
loved showing you around. If you want to find out more, then get in touch with Broadlands.
All of their details are in the description below this video, and I'll see you soon for
more luxury properties. Oh, what's that? Mr Darcy's calling me. Sorry, Beth, better go.
Yeah, I'll see you on the next episode. Behind me is Villa Cambrai. Pretty phenomenal, right?
The whole property has been designed around light and space. It is architecturally bold,
beautifully modern, and it's arranged over three tiers. You can actually only see two
popping up right now, but trust me, around the other side, it's very impressive.
