A quick video on how to install the Krebs Custom AK Safety. I realize it's very simple for a lot of us but every day someone picks up an AK pattern rifle for the first time and many of them look to improve the ergonomics but don't know how to do it----that who this video is for.

Welcome back.
This is actually going to be a viewer request video.
I've gotten this request four or five times since I started this channel.
One thing guys always notice on my AKs is that I do generally run the Krebs selector,
enhanced selector I should say, on most of my AKs.
This video here is going to show you how to install it.
I know it's real simple, but just by the fact that I'm getting this request a lot, it just
shows that there's a lot of guys picking up these rifles for the first time and they want
to know how to do some work on them.
Again, real simple install.
We're going to show you guys how to do it, and at the end, hopefully it'll help some
of you guys out.
To get started with the install, you just want to go ahead and put your weapon on fire.
Make sure the rifle is safe and there's no rounds in there, which there isn't.
You're going to go ahead to your normal disassembly, push the tab in, pull the spring out, pull
the bolt carrier out, and that's where we're going to start.
As you can see in there guys, this little tab right here in the back, that's your safety.
It's real simple, as I mentioned earlier.
All you're going to do is pull open your safety, and depending on what kind of safety your
gun comes with, either full auto or semi, your hammer may fly forward.
If you don't know the difference, just go ahead and put your finger on the hammer anyway
in case it does, just to prevent it from slamming into the receiver.
Pull up, and as you see there, it did release.
You can see here guys, we'll zoom in for you, there you go, the safety's all the way up,
looks like that, and if you look on the, I don't think we're going to be able to get
the angle on the inside, but there's a little slot there, all you're going to do is pull
straight out, so that's removal of your safety, and to look inside your receiver, you can
see in there, I'm going to try to get the angle for you guys, that little plate right
there that I'm pointing at, that is a Krebs retaining plate that this one comes with.
Some of them come with a Shepard's crook.
If you have a Shepard's crook, I recommend replacing it, it's just easier over the long
term with either a Krebs or a Tapco, actually both work equally fine.
Those little retainers right there, zoom in so you guys can really see it, those things
make trigger work, any kind of work like that, much, much easier, they're only about $10,
so in my opinion, if you're going to do any kind of work like this, just replace it, makes
it easier.
So, take your Krebs safety out, and all you're going to do is the exact opposite of what
we just did, you're going to put it in there, straight, you're going to put it straight
in through the safety hole, you can see here, that's where the hole is on the other side,
and right through there is where the Krebs plate is, little hole in the Krebs plate,
you're just going to line it all up with, I'll show you there, with that little part
right there, that's going to go in the hole on the opposite side of the receiver, the
left side of the receiver from the shooter's perspective, put it in, put it down, should
be good to go, make sure your hammer locks back, make sure it works, so in the fire position,
it fires, in the safe position, it doesn't fire, as you can see there, and that's really
all there is to it guys.
Alright, I hope this helps some of the new guys out there that didn't know how simple
of a process this really is, but if you guys have any questions about this or any other
videos I do, feel free to ask those questions here, you can also ask those questions over
on my Facebook page, but thanks for watching, thanks for subscribing, and we'll see you
guys in the next video.
