Hi, I'm Jamie and I'd like to introduce you to the new 2024 Scrambler 1200 XE
and all-new Scrambler 1200 X. Delivering the iconic style and character of Triumph's modern
classics range with the capability and usability normally only associated with adventure motorcycles,
these two new models deliver even more of what makes the Scrambler 1200 so unique. Let's take
a closer look at the new Scrambler 1200 X. This new model retains all the core capability of the
previous Scrambler XC model but now features several key upgrades including a new lower seat
type to bring even more riding enjoyment to a wider range of riders than ever before. Starting
with that legendary 1200cc Bonneville engine with a lower inertia crank and higher compression
cylinder head, the 1200 X has a dedicated Scrambler tune for the perfect blend of road performance
and tractability for riding on all terrains. While the power and torque figures are near identical to
the previous model, they only tell part of the story. The engineers have been hard at work to
improve how that power and torque are delivered. A new single 50mm throttle body
together with a revised exhaust header run that follows a tighter curve and neatly integrates
the catalyzer box improves the gas flow. These new parts result in the Scrambler 1200 X's
peak power of 90PS arriving a little early in the rev range. As well as creating a more flexible
engine, these upgrades also ensure that the Scrambler 1200 X exceeds Euro 5 emissions requirements
and delivers excellent fuel economy with the added benefit of optimized exhaust heat management
for enhanced rider comfort. A six-speed gearbox and Triumph's refined torque assist clutch also
feature on the Scrambler 1200 X. This reduces rider fatigue thanks to a light lever action
with a consistent feel regardless of the riding situation as well as contributing towards the
narrow engine package. The Scrambler 1200 X also benefits from the very latest generation
ride-by-wire throttle. Not only does this guarantee responsive and precise throttle control but
it also enables five riding modes that adjust throttle response, ABS and traction control
settings, rain, road, sport, off-road and rider. Each offer settings to suit the riding conditions.
Each mode is easily accessible via the handlebar mounted controls. Easy to ride and super accessible.
The Scrambler 1200 X's all-round appeal has been broadened further by new Mazzocchi suspension
components. These updates have been developed to deliver a more road-focused setup with a lower
seat height of 820mm. That's 20mm lower than the Scrambler XC model and 50mm
lower than the XE making the Scrambler 1200 X manageable for riders of all sizes. Adjustable
handlebars offer even more scope to tailor the ergonomics for the perfect riding position.
The 45mm diameter USD forks and dual twin spring rear suspension units offer 170mm
of front travel with 170mm at the rear for perfect balance and an even better road ride
that can be fine-tuned to suit solar riding or carrying a passenger and luggage. Off-road
ability however remained uncompromised with the Scrambler 1200 X as capable as ever over
rough roads and tracks offering superb confidence in all conditions. The twin piston axial Nissan
calipers are paired to 310mm discs up front with a single piston floating caliper and 255mm
disc at the rear and with an adjustable span lever even the daintiest of digits can find the perfect
feel. ABS is of course a standard feature and this together with the traction control features
Triumph's optimised cornering system with inertial measurement unit or IMU to give even more
confidence all the way through and out of every turn and both are switchable to meet the demands
of off-road riding. Let's check out the beautiful side-laced spoked aluminium tubeless wheels
each sized to provide assured handling both on and off-road. The 21-inch front wheel also
contributing to the Scrambler 1200 X's commanding riding position. Fitted with Metzeler Karoo
street tires performance is biased towards superb road handling but with the capability to venture
off-road. A new handbook approved off-road bias tire option is also available inspired by its
multiple Paris Dakar wins. Michelin's Anarchy Wild is the perfect option for those looking
for enhanced off-road capability. So you have a flexible high torque engine with fantastic
performance, a great chassis with top notch suspension and brakes and plenty of rider
friendly touches to really get the best from your ride wherever the road takes you. There's
also the option to easily add accessory heated grips controlled by a button on the left grip
that allows the rider to easily cycle through three levels of heat. The Scrambler 1200 X also
features this all-new elegantly styled instrument dial that incorporates a hybrid LCD TFT
multifunctional display. This provides all the information in a compact clear and uncluttered
design. The TFT part of the display is full color while the LCD segment offers a crisp
sharp white on black display that is easy to read on the move. Scrolling through the various modes
and information options is controlled through these intuitive and easily accessible handlebar
mounted controls. The Scrambler 1200 X is also pre-enabled for the accessory My Triumph
connectivity system. This allows a rider to access phone calls, operate music and use turn
by turn navigation through an intuitive handlebar control button and TFT interface. Simply download
the My Triumph app for your iPhone or Android phone and getting set up couldn't be easier.
