Hi Drawster Cuties, Whitney here.
Today we're going to draw Rapunzel from Disney's Tangled.
So let's get started.
To draw Rapunzel, we're going to first start by drawing her face.
So I'm going to come right here and basically draw the bottom of a U.
So I'm going to start about right there and come about right here.
And I'm just going to go ahead and connect it with a curve.
So it's a little bit wider, there, something like that, wide bottom of a U.
So then from there, let's come back to where you started and we're going to draw a circle
on the edge.
So right here and same thing on this side, so about right there towards the edge.
And now that we have the circles in, let's come and make them draw secure eyes.
So I'm going to put two small circles inside for highlights and a curve line at the bottom
and shade in the top.
So I drew Rapunzel a long, long time ago.
So when I kind of first started my channel and I figured it's time to update all my Disney
princesses.
So hopefully you guys love this version just as much as my older one.
Okay.
So then now let's do the same thing on this side.
So definitely let me know in the comments below if you want me to update all my princesses.
Okay, so now let's come back right here and we're going to add some lashes.
So two curves, simple curves, same thing over here.
And then let's come to the center and we're going to get a sweet smile.
So right here and cap it off there.
Okay.
So then let's come and we're going to draw the rest of her face.
So I'm just going to round this off a little bit more and I'm just going to imagine an
oval.
So about right here, I'll just give myself a point because her hair kind of parts on
the side.
From this point, I'm going to draw a curve that comes out and it's going to come down
to where you started and flare out.
So then let's come to this side and we're going to draw a slight curve and then before
we finish that off, let's come back to this point and we're going to draw a higher curve
that comes up.
And about right here, I'm going to start to bring it down all the way back to this point
where we started.
It's going to be really close to her eye and come out.
So then we can go ahead, whatever space you have left and finish off this curve.
Okay.
So now let's come back and draw her brow.
It looks really weird, right?
So about right here, I'm going to just draw a soft curve.
And same thing over here.
And let's go ahead.
I'm just going to thicken this up a little bit more.
Okay.
So we have that part in.
Now let's draw the rest of her hair.
I'm going to use this point right here and I'm just going to draw a curve that comes
out.
So now we're going to start to part her hair.
So about right there.
I'm just going to give myself a point in this area and on this side, I'm going to come down
and this side is going to go up.
So then let's bring, let's work on this side first.
I'm going to bring this down.
And before we finish that part, let's come to right here and we're going to give her
ear.
So right underneath this curve, before I forget, I always forget the ears.
Let's draw a curve for her ear and same thing over here.
Okay.
So if you're using a pencil, please just go ahead and finish these curves for her hair
and then put in the flowers.
But because I'm using a Sharpie and I can't erase, I'm just going to go ahead and imagine
there's a curve here and there's flowers running along it.
So I'll start about right here and just draw a big flower and you can add whatever kinds
of flowers you like.
Have fun with this drawing.
I just love Rapunzel is my favorite princess from Tangled, the movie, and I'm going to
draw a smaller one right here so you can add as much detail as you like for these flowers.
But you just want to fill up the space and you add some leaves here and there if you
like.
And so then I'm going to imagine this curve coming down, it's going to sweep in and then
another curve right here in this area, I'm going to draw another flower.
So we're just building the braid, her braid, I mean, and you know what?
Let's come back to this side now before I get carried away with all the flowers and
come in here, draw some strands, parting lines for some detail if you like, or you can do
that when you're coloring and let's bring this part down.
So it's going to come out a little bit just to make it more full.
And once again, using a pencil, go ahead and finish this curve, but I need to add some
bunch of flowers here.
So curve right here, just going to add a big flower right here and some smaller ones here.
So mix up the size of the flowers so that it's not too stiff and you add leaves wherever
you need to fill in the space.
So then just finish it off and now we're going to tuck in like coming through, so about right
here, bring in a curve right there.
Okay, so we just have, as long as you have this main loop of hair right here, then the
braids don't really matter, you just add curves as you go.
So before we finish her hair, let's come back and draw her body.
So right here in the center, I'm going to give her a little neck and bring it out for
her shoulders.
And let's see, she has a poofy sleeve, so I'm just going to come out right here and
poof out a curve.
And then I'm going to come down below, say about right here, give myself two points where
her armpits would be, and I'm just going to draw two angle lines, so about right there.
I'm going to use these points and come to the center and add a curve right to the center
for her top, and then I'm going to go ahead and connect this part there.
Okay, so then let's bring this down a little bit more, about right there, I'm going to
connect it towards the center once again.
So we have her bodice in, now let's come out and draw her skirt.
So it's not too poofy, just a little bit, and let's bring this all the way down.
So just step back and see how long you want to make her skirt, so I'm just going to bring
it down to about right here, I'll stop.
Okay, so then from here, I'm just going to go ahead and connect it with a bunch of curves.
So I'm just going to wiggle my way across, and then I'm going to add a little layer right
here of lace, so it's just a bunch of curves right underneath, and we're just going to
follow the curve.
Okay, so then now that we're down here, let's go and finish her feet, so her legs, and let's
bring this down, so about right here in the center, just going to make sure her feet are
centered, and we're going to use this line right here to draw her feet.
So let's bring this down and flare out her feet, so skirt out, and let's draw her shoes,
so it's just very simple, little sandal, and in, so same thing over here.
There, I have her feet in, so then now let's draw the details like her arms right here,
so I'm going to bring out this little poof for her sleeve.
And in this area, I'm going to connect it, add a little cuff right here, same thing over
here.
Okay, so then now let's work on this hand.
It's just going to flare out, so let's continue this curve out, but before I finish her hand
all the way and come about right here, I'm going to cut it off and add a little sleeve
right here for some details, and then continue the curve out, so about right, I'm going to
add a thumb and her fingers, and a little finger in the back.
There, so now the other side, exactly the same, so in this area, just stop to draw the other
sleeve, about this area, about right there.
Just cut it off and add a little poof, and her arms, so she ends about right here.
Thumb and fingers, and the finger right there.
Okay, finally, okay, so then now you can go ahead and add some details if you like on
your sleeve, and she has a bunch of lace details right here on the edge, and some here
if you like, and of course, right here, there's going to be some, let's tie it up right here,
so I'm going to draw two loops, and the tail of the loop, and then the center, so come
out right here, and then come inside of this, and we're just going to draw some X's.
There, whatever you can fit in.
Okay, so then from there, we're going to part her skirt right here, this part, and now to
finish off her gorgeous hair, let's come, since we're on this side, let's just bring
a curve right here.
I'm just adding volume, and so let's come to this side, and I'm just going to start
to draw a bunch of curves to build her hair.
There, let's see here, and I'm just going to bring it to the side, so let me tuck in
one more before we end it, and just to give some detail, we can add a curve going this
way, just an indication of a braid, and let's bring this, imagine this coming through, so
we make her hair really long.
I'm just going to tuck in a, finish off the strand right here in this area, so let's come
about right here, another one right in, so we're just finishing it off now, and then
the last part, make sure it's right in the outer feet, and just go ahead and finish it.
There, okay, so then now it looks really long, right?
Okay, so then now you can go in and add as many flowers as you like for all the little
details.
So there, that's pretty much it for my new version of Rapunzel from Tangled.
