AI GeneratedA group of motorcyclists, including the host, Ari from Law Tigers, and Rusty, embark on a ride along the East Apache Trail in Arizona. Starting from Apache Junction and heading toward Tortilla Flat, the group explores the scenic mountain roads, discusses bike modifications, and evaluates the route's quality based on several performance and aesthetic criteria.
We're getting ready to roll up to the mountains over there.
She's talking about those mountains back there, that's right.
We're in Arizona, I'm with my friend Ari from Law Tigers.
What's up Ari, how you doing?
I'm doing well, what's up brother?
Good, and we are here with the...
What do you...
No, you're just going straight up helmet and dreads, huh?
I'm taking my girl Tana and her friends from the quest called Tri.
Oh wait, show me that back again.
And of course my friend Rusty from D&D, Marine Corps veteran and exhaust extraordinaire.
If you want to meet more of these girls and check out their bikes, hear my buddy Rusty's story
and what he's done to my bike and what you're probably going to end up doing to my Indian.
And of course my friend Ari, stay tuned to the end of the ride and I will share it with you
because today we are riding the East Apache Trail right out of Apache Junction
headed to Tortilla Flat and I think this may be one of the coolest roads in America.
We're going to ride it, we're going to rate it.
Today this ride is going to be brought to you by all my sponsors,
everybody who supports me out here and that's Law Tigers.
Epic eyewear, check it out.
Signature magnetic glasses, we're pretty excited about them.
Yeah, of course Zero3D who does a lot of the lighting on my bike.
So if you guys are ready to take this ride, stay tuned.
All right, y'all ready to ride?
Let's do it.
I'm ready, let's do this.
That's a superstitious saloon.
Beyond the best, if you ride a motorcycle, you better do this.
Yeah, it's pretty good.
It's definitely one of the best in the country.
She just said best ride ever.
Is that what you said?
Pretty freaking epic, yeah.
One of the best ever for me.
If we keep going, it gets really even better.
Oh, I'm ready.
I don't believe you.
Oh, believe me.
Ari, how are you doing brother?
Good, man.
I don't think I've ever taken this trail before.
Look at that, I come to your backyard to take you somewhere you've never been.
Well, I just forgot because it's been so long, but I think it has been.
I think it's the first time.
That's very cool.
So Ari, what are you riding today?
I'm riding my Dyno the Rider S.
What do you think of this place?
Pretty good.
Superstition saloon.
Tortilla Flats is a big biker hangout.
Over the years, I've heard this is where people come to do a day ride,
grab something to eat, get some rest.
Beautiful place.
Gorgeous place.
What do you think, lady?
Really, really nice.
I want to sit in that lake.
I know.
We should do that on the way back.
Yeah, tell me about that knife.
Oh my goodness, oh my favorite.
You know how much I love this knife.
I think everybody should.
Probably a little dirty.
Anyway, this was made by a friend of mine who's actually now deceased.
His name was Terry Friesman.
I just absolutely fell in love with this knife.
It's mastodon bone and then ironwood and then ivory that Terry had actually collected
probably 40 years, 40, 45 years ago and held onto it and then a Damascus blade.
But I like it because it's stubby and it's stout and I use it as a tool.
Rusty, should we show them your bike real quick?
Sure.
So you all know Rusty, man of many words.
It's hard to get him to stop talking.
So what are we rolling here, Rusty?
This is a 16 Proglide Ultra.
What have we done to it?
Give me the top three things.
The best thing is the exhaust.
Hmm, can I guess what that is?
That is...
That's our fat cat.
That's the fat cat.
With a medium baffle.
This is just a stock engine and this one I've done a little bit of stuff to the suspension.
Sponsored suspension upgrades.
Looks good, man.
How's the ride up here?
It's real good.
This thing's...
I mean, that's what I made it for.
Rock and roll, man.
Let's go.
I see you got the Lapera seat.
Yeah, that's new.
They just built that for me right before Daytona.
But you know I got a new ASR seat.
Yeah.
I'm gonna have to get you to put it to the test.
I can do that.
All right, man.
I can do that for sure.
My ASR seat is in junction with Zero 3D and it's a pretty slick, kind of thinner touring seat.
You know, the thing with touring seats is big isn't always great because the bigger you get,
the less, you know, legroom, less reach, the taller you are.
And the more difficult it makes in scenarios like, well, like we're in right now parking
on this gravel, on hills, you know, in the strange places you find yourself on the road sometimes.
Let's do some...
Let's do some food.
Oh, yes.
Those are some bins.
I mean, all the way down.
It's ridiculous.
All right.
So what kind of angle is that up there?
Yes.
Look at these stools.
Well, I found out that we actually took a wrong turn, didn't we, Rusty?
No.
Yeah.
You can never take a wrong turn.
See, that's why I hang out with this guy, man.
He's got such deep insight.
So he's right.
We didn't take a wrong turn.
I apparently got my roads confused.
I had been down that road before, but I think I confused it with the road we took on the
hot bike tour.
Now we think it was, what, 60?
I think so.
We think it was 60.
I may have to bring you back to 60.
This road was definitely worth rating and riding.
So let's do just that.
Okay, let's do a quick review and rate this road.
First, we're gonna start with the road surface and conditions.
For that, I give it an 8.
The roads were very well paved, in good shape.
There was some dirt around some corners from roll-off from the mountains and rocks.
Definitely something that you're gonna want to watch for when you're on the road.
But the pavement itself was brand new and tip-top.
For the curves, I'm giving it a 7.
A 7 because they are switchbacks.
They are up the mountain, down the mountain.
Very good curves.
We are gonna rate this road at a 7.
For the views, we are also going with a 7.
You can see over the lake.
You can see over the mountains.
We caught it right at sunset, which was just awesome.
Seeing the different shadows and layers of land way off in the distance.
Views, also a 7.
For the attractions, we're gonna go down to a 6.
And that is because there is a cool restaurant and tavern at the end.
It is also fairly close to Phoenix, like within an hour.
So that, you know, is okay.
You can fly in there, ride out.
There's plenty to do in Phoenix.
But itself, within an hour's distance or less than an hour's distance, there's really not much.
You're in the middle of nowhere.
So we go down to a 6.
The traffic, back up to a 7.
Lots of 7s for this road.
There was not much traffic.
It was pretty good.
There's plenty of pullouts for the slower vehicles to get out and around the way.
Definitely worked well for us.
We had very little traffic and we were on a weekend.
So you gotta love that.
And then the distance, and this is where this one really falls short.
We're giving it a 4.
It's only 17 miles from the city to the bar, which is basically the end of the road.
It turns to gravel after that.
Just a couple miles after that.
So the distance is low.
We're just going to give it a 4.
So it's nice for a little short jaunt.
Maybe go for lunch, come back.
But definitely not a road you're going to want to take all the way across the country to go ride.
Okay, that gives us a grand total for this road.
A 39.
The lowest score we have had yet on our list.
I would say definitely not going to be making the top 20 roads here.
But certainly if you're in the Phoenix area, a great ride to get out and enjoy.
Until the next video, you know, dream man.
Dream about these roads.
I dream about them every day and I'm out there riding them.
And you can too.
All you got to do is dream until your dreams come true.
