AI GeneratedDana, an acupuncturist, demonstrates two different acupuncture approaches to treat Corey's chronic back pain caused by prolonged sitting. After initial local treatment to increase blood flow and tissue repair, Dana utilizes distal points on the hands and feet to energetically activate the spinal channel, providing immediate relief from spinal pressure.
Hi, I'm Dana. I'm the acupuncturist at the Little Egg Harbor office and I'm here today with Corey
who came in a couple of weeks ago with some back pain as a result of his job where he has to sit a
lot. And so we started out treating locally using the needles to cause a microtrauma which then
increased the blood flow to that area and helped the tissue of the muscles repair themselves.
As time went on he got better but he still sometimes has some pressure and discomfort
along his spine. So I'm using a different treatment style with him to treat that.
This treatment style uses points that are not located on the back but they are connected to
an acupuncture channel that runs up the spine. And so the idea is that by stimulating these points
that aren't located on the back it helps the body to activate that area energetically and
increase the healing process there. So what we usually do is I put the needles in. We have four
needles in. There are two in his hands and two in his feet. And then I stimulate the needles for a
while. So I'm going to do that right now. And Corey if you feel any changes let us know what you're
feeling. I do feel the pressure releasing from my spine. So that's pretty much what we're looking
for and that was a really quick result. It usually takes a minute or two so that was
convenient for this video. So thanks Corey. You're welcome.
