In 1913, an art collector named Hugh Blaker spent more than ten years searching for a painting he was convinced existed somewhere in Europe. An earlier version of the Mona Lisa, painted by Leonardo before the one now hanging in the Louvre.

When he finally found it, hidden in an English manor house, the resemblance to the world's most famous painting was impossible to ignore.

But is the Isleworth Mona Lisa a genuine Leonardo da Vinci? Or simply the most famous copy in the history of art?
