The video covers her new hobbies, pet updates with her bunnies, professional work in tech, a remote New Year's getaway, and a creative project inspired by a favorite bedtime podcast.
Hi. Happy new year, guys! I'm so happy it is the first week of 2025. Sorry, what's that?
This isn't the first week of 2025? It's actually February? No, I don't think you understand.
Um, the first four weeks that we just experienced, that's a write-off. Because what the f**k
was that? I don't know about your January, but my January? We don't talk about my January. That was
some mercury in retrograde, seasonal depression, everything that could possibly go wrong could go
wrong, went wrong type s**t. The brink of civil war over in the Americas. My seasonal depression
and my period intertwined and became one demonic being. I had a full like five minute rant
somewhere in this video that has been cut out. No one cares to listen to me rant for five minutes
about my life. Also, I'm kind of using this as an excuse for why I haven't uploaded in so
freaking long. Please don't hate me. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. This is a new beginning. This is a
new start. I've got my new year's resolutions. And may the first week of your 2025 be amazing.
Bambi is growing up so fast. He had his vaccine. It's been the cutest thing watching them bond over
the past few weeks. One of my new year's resolutions is to learn a new skill and to be
more active. So I've actually taken up ice skating lessons and do them every Sunday. And even though
I am terrible at it and I'm constantly falling over, I'm finding so much joy in it. It's really
nice to be able to explore a hobby that you wanted to do when you were younger as an adult
and take it at your own pace, not put any expectations on it.
I've just been generally trying to take things slower, be on my phone less, be more present.
Good morning. It's 8am on a Sunday and I'm going to go to my ice skating lesson. This
is my third ice skating lesson, so I've got to go catch a bus to the ice skating rink.
This is a clip of me making a bunny castle. I decided when I moved Fig and Bambi in together,
they would need something new that neither of them have seen before. Somewhere that they can
grow as a family. Not that they're going to grow their family, they can't physically do that.
Yeah, so it was really hard to make, it was really confusing. I would recommend don't buy
this thing, even though it looks really cute in the end and it's really quite stable. You know
what, maybe I'm being too harsh. Maybe I just didn't read the instructions right. Okay, anyway,
my point is, is that when I made the crib, Bambi started displaying this behavior where he was
chinning everything. And if you are new to bunny body language, chin is like when they rub their
the scent glands that are on the underside of their chin on what they perceive to be their
property. Bambi's marking everywhere. Yeah, he's trying to mark me. This means he is displaying
like alpha tendencies and it is so funny, like it's honestly the funniest part of my day
watching the baby bunny assert his dominance over Fig who is like twice his size. Hi,
you have caught me in the process of dyeing my hair black. I've sectioned little pieces
that I wanted to keep red, but I don't know if I'm just going to overlay it with black anyway.
Who does a patch test? Not me. I'm scared. I bought um blue black because it kind of needs to
get some of the red tones out. I'm not going back now. I love that it makes me look really pale.
Oh yeah, I trimmed the bangs a bit as well. I'm just working from home today and I thought I'd be
a YouTuber as well. If you guys haven't seen my video on getting Bambi, you should go watch that.
It's growing so big already. Say hi. She's so cute. Okay, okay, okay, okay.
It's a Friday. I'm finally getting to the end of my work. It's been a wild week. I was in the office
yesterday. I feel like it's been a while. There's a lot to update you guys on. A couple of you asked
me if I'm still working in tech and web design and I am. I'm still working on a website right
now, but I can't tell you the details. Um, I was off for Christmas and New Year's. Christmas,
I had with my family and New Year's and a little cabin, a very remote cabin in nature.
When I booked the Airbnb, it said on the listing that there was a restaurant nearby
because it's so remote that there's not really anywhere else to eat. But when we turned up,
the Airbnb owner failed to tell me that the restaurant had shut down only months prior.
We got there at night and we were starving and we realized we're going to have to drive like
half an hour to the nearest corner shop to get something to eat. So we pretty much survived on
like pot noodles the entire time. And then on New Year's night, we had a little bonfire,
really windy, really cloudy. At midnight on New Year's night, we, um, we looked up and we saw the
clouds were kind of parting. And because we were so remote, there was like no light pollution and
you could see the stars so clearly, so beautiful. And I could see the Big Dipper for the first time.
I think it was the Big Dipper. I feel like a bunch of different stars kind of look like the
Big Dipper. I'm pretty sure I saw the Big Dipper. Today, I went out for lunch and did some errands
and I bumped into my first ever viewer who recognized me in real life. He was like,
are you Lily? And I was like, yeah. It was so surreal. I put a little selfie up of us meeting.
That was the coolest thing ever. And it made me realize that I should be making more videos. Like,
I do not post enough. I'm sorry. I will try to post more. We're almost at the end of my
working day and I have a couple more meetings. Right now, I'm working on some interview questions.
So we're going to interview some potential users of the website. To be fair, this is the
funnest part of my job, talking to people and asking them, what kind of website do you want?
Yeah, I can hear you. So I'm thinking I'm going to do some of the questions in group sessions.
They're a little dirty. They need a bit of a wash. A lot of their colors have kind of disappeared.
Like, this one was super green when I picked it up, but they've all kind of faded. That's
technically poop, but I just think it looks so cool. It looks like an ancient key to something.
Also, these little oyster. No, sorry, not oyster. Mussel. Mussel shells. I think they look really
cool as well. I think these ones, when they're fully intact, you shouldn't pick them up because
they can be homes for little crabs, but they all had holes in them. Oh, ----. I picked up this hot
glue gun. I don't know if I made this clear. I feel like this video has been so disjointed, but
I collected these shells on the seaside of where I stayed in the cabin on New Year's. I don't know
if I made that clear or obvious, but that's why I have these shells. That's where I got them.
There was a bunch of shells. Really pretty shells. Okay, so in all honesty, I was listening to
a bedtime podcast, right? Okay, this is my favorite bedtime podcast. I listen to it almost every night
and I don't listen to anything else. This is the only one I listen to. It's called Sleepy Time
Stories, I think. I guess it's not for everyone because it has kind of some bad reviews. Some
people say like, oh my god, this story was so scary. I had nightmares, but I think they're
not scary. Sleepy stories to help you sleep. That is my favorite podcast right now. Anyway,
the point of that being was I was listening to the episode called The Entangled Mermaid. They're
just very generic sort of folklore-y style tales. Beautiful mermaid, beautiful Atlantis *******
palace. One of the young mermaids gets trapped above the sea and then she like gets taken by
humans and put in a bathtub and on display and all that kind of stuff. And I was listening to
this podcast while I was trying to have like a relaxing night in the bath and I felt like a
mermaid. I felt like I was being transformed. I was in the bath, I was swimming around, sloshing around
and I just felt like a mermaid, okay? So the point being, I was in my mermaid phase when I went on
this new year's cabin trip to the seaside and I was like, oh my god, you know what would be so
slay? If I put a bunch of shells in my hair and I was really like giving mermaid. That's why I
like to roll shells. I'm here showing you me making a ******* hair piece out of shells.
That's so cute! Add some more shells maybe to the small plants as well.
Also, you got a really cool podcast recommendation out of this episode. I actually emailed the
creator of the podcast. I feel like it's just one girl who does it all by herself because sometimes
the editing's a little off. Like, there'll be like little repeat phrases in that weren't cut
out properly and I feel like it's just like very like low budget, like just like one girl
solo doing it by herself. And I love the podcast so much, like the stories that she picks,
the specific like folktale stories that she... ew. I can't even describe it. It's very nostalgic.
They're not all kind of like sunshine and roses, there's some that are a little bit more like
cautionary tale vibe, which I really like. So I emailed her saying like, please do more podcasts
because I love it because sometimes she forgets to upload. It says weekly but it's not weekly,
girl. I need my ******* weekly podcast, please, I'm begging you. Girl, if you see this, I love
you so much, please upload my bedtime podcast, I need you to sleep.
