This Loyal Pup Brought Home A Trash Bag, And What Was Inside Prompted A 911 Call

The star of this story is this dog, Pui, a male Thai Bangkow. The Bangkow is a spitz-like breed, rare in most other countries but fairly common in Thailand. Pui is the pet of Goomnerd Thongmak and his family. After his recent heroics, he is now the sweetheart of the Tharu District, Bangkok vicinity, in Thailand. He gained his many thankful followers after what happened to be a regular visit to the garbage dump one day. No one's sure quite why Pui dug into a pile of garbage and pulled out a white plastic bag. No one heard any sounds or saw anything suspicious, but Pui apparently did. He gently pulled the plastic bag from the tall pile of debris and carefully walked back home with it. His family was used to him being gone most of the day, so when he began barking in their yard, they came out immediately to investigate. At first, they scolded Pui because he dragged home garbage. It was only moments later that Pui became a hero to them, however. The bag began to move. Thongmak's niece hesitantly opened the top of the bag and peered inside. What she saw was not even in the top thousand of things she likely expected. It was a newborn baby girl. They rushed the baby to the hospital. Doctors told them she had been born prematurely at about seven months, and still weighed four pounds eight ounces. She was very newly born. Her umbilical cord was still even attached. She was in pretty rough condition but thrived under the gentle and professional care. She'll certainly have quite a story to tell as she grows up. Most babies are delivered by storks. She was delivered by a very smart dog. Although it was a human that actually got the baby to the hospital, everyone realizes that without Pui's intervention, no one would have likely ever known the baby existed, except for her mother. Pui received a leather collar and a medal from the Thao Ru District Red Cross Chapter for saving the girl's life. He seems to enjoy living a hero's life. Pui's owner got a $300 reward, reported the Bangkok Post. It's lucky that little Pui found the baby. It was a surprise to us since little Pui never brought anything home, only barking at strangers when he's out and about, Pumrat Thongmak told Thailand's Kasud newspaper. Must be destiny that brought us together. There were no immediate leads as to who might be the mother of the child, but Police Lieutenant General Jitkesom Songkham told Kasad that investigators believe it's a teenage girl who works at a nearby factory. The baby girl's doing well. Thongmak said he She knows that she has built-in help caring for the child. After all, Pui already saved her life once.
