Hey guys! We are in Athens, Greece and in the next 24 hours we will be eating
Greek street food like a local. Let's get started.
It's a train to get some breakfast and the best breakfast is usually near the train stops
and I'll show you what it is in a minute.
So this is my favorite breakfast. Let's go get some orange. It makes a great breakfast.
Thank you. Here goes my orange juice. Very fresh. And this is my favorite breakfast. It's like
nothing but at the meantime it's got a lot of good flavors and I think it just has to do with
the oven itself. I feel like other shops can't really replicate that. My personal favorite. And
here's how you break into it. You literally just go like this. Taste it like that. Pure carb. So
enjoyable. These two kind of just make a really good combo when you're not that hungry in the
morning and you just want to have something you know that's pleasurable. And then they have another
version with chocolate. So let's say if it's after school and I'm a little hungry, I usually go for
the chocolate one because it's also a little treat. But usually for mornings when you're just
up and doesn't have too much sugary, that is the best combo. This and the orange.
Now we're gonna shop around until we get hungry. So good.
So for lunch we're gonna have the Greek staple gyros souvlaki which is basically huge piles of
meat and then they shred over it. And the best ones are usually in neighborhoods. Literally
the random neighborhoods. The one that I'm about to take you to is the one that I grew up eating
because it's next to my house. Pretty darn good. You can tell the place is good. It's extremely
windy. The moment of truth. Look at this. So good. And you know it's like really good meat.
Oh thank you. It's pretty good. And they give a really generous amount of tzatziki. The Greek
tzatzikis are like the best. Maybe the dairy is different than compared to the U.S.
But it's just like much fresher. Can I go to school? That's my quick snack before dinner.
It's so cheap. Back then it was only 220 euro. Now it's gone up to like 380 if you go to the
neighborhoods. Well if you're in the tourist area, probably selling for four dollars. But
honestly what can you get in the U.S. for four dollars? That was a lot of food.
I think I should show you my favorite dessert place.
The pistachio one looks so tasty. I know it's too much though. I can't finish it.
Is it chocolate inside? It was just too much. It's like after the second one you're pretty
much done. And I'm just offering around people whether they want one of those. It's too much.
Bring it home. So dinner is classic Greek lamb chops. Very popular. You order some salad,
some bread, some tzatziki. Pretty traditional. This is a four star.
It's like really tender and juicy.
So zany but in a really good way.
Put a tzatziki.
That marks the end of 24 hours today. Everything was great. Perfect food.
Other than the sweet that was a little too sweet. Paidakia was great. Highly recommend
if you want to come to Greece you have to try the lamb chops for dinner.
All right we'll see you next time.
