Video Summary
AI GeneratedAn artist demonstrates the creation of a dynamic ocean scene on an 18x24 inch canvas, blending technical oil painting instruction with a philosophical approach to art. The tutorial covers the entire process from underpainting and composition to advanced lighting and texture techniques, framing the act of painting as a therapeutic journey of self-discovery and exploration.
All right, first we're going to cover this whole canvas with turquoise. I've got this
phthalo turquoise that I love. Oh, what a pretty color. We're going to be painting the ocean today,
so we're going to start with paint thinner turquoise. This will be fun. Let's just cover
this whole thing. This is an 18 by 24 inch canvas. I have actually never on this show
painted on a canvas so small. So today we'll go quick. You can paint along with this show
or you can just watch. It's fun. It's fun to watch a painting get made and to see an artist work. I
always enjoy watching artists. I think it's nice. I wish we could go back in time and see, you know,
Vincent or Monet, Renoir. Oh, I would have loved to see Velasquez or definitely Rembrandt.
All right, I'm liking that. Hey, let's transition to this paper towel. Let's just finish this off
here. I want, um, not a lot of paint on the canvas, so I'm just going to rub this off.
I'm going to grab the top of this. Oh, the sides. That way it'll look fun later.
I like painting because it's a three-dimensional thing. It's a picture, but in real life,
when you see a painting, it's happening. And when you walk around it, the light reflects
in different ways. It's a living thing, I feel like. The brushwork is a documentation of the
artist's emotions. It comes across kind of like a musician, you know, that's playing,
you know, a pianist or something. I'm going to get all these sides. Just get this paint off. See
that? This is important. And it warms me up, makes me not so afraid. Like it, like it, like it. Okay,
now we're going to make a little sketch here. Yeah, let's just go ahead and take some burnt
sienna. And we're going to grab this little filbert brush. We're going to do a basic sketch,
just so we can get some ideas here. I've got this iPad off to the side here,
looking at photos I took in California. All right, I love the beach and I love rocks. Okay,
you know what I want to do first? Let's get our horizon in there. This is a fun way.
And then you can draw a line. That will be our interesting horizon for today.
Okay, let's see here. Let's paint some rocks. Let's start down here in the corner.
And I want some dark rocks to be down here, choppy, kind of like this coming down.
Something like that. And that'll be fun. Sun will be hitting it. It'll be bright on one side and
dark on the other. I want to make a very dynamic painting today. And you do that with contrasting
colors. There, there's a rock hanging out. Put one there. Hmm, let's have one sticking up over
the horizon there. I like that. Come on back this way. Hmm, and then this way. That's nice.
Let's do another one next to it. Coming back like that. These will be farther away. I just want some
visual weight on this side. I think that'll be nice. Well, welcome to painting therapy.
I call it that because this is my therapy. I'm not a therapist, but this paint is. Well,
I promise you it can help you out. It's helped me a lot to paint. I've realized as I've painted
nature that I'm painting a self-portrait. I'm looking at myself. I truly think that we are
nature. We are not divorced from it. We are one with it. And it's an easy thing to think. I mean,
we come from the earth. We are peopled. The earth has peopled us, as Alan Watts says.
Let's go all the way up here. Have something up there, farther away, like that. Fun colors
together, right? Very exciting. Let's have some distant cliffs, way far away, like that.
And maybe another one even really far away. Gorgeous. A lot of fun stuff. You know,
you can't care too much when you're oil painting, when you're painting in general, I think. I just,
yeah, because what does that mean? Oh, if I really concentrate really hard, if I try my best,
no. Then what? You'll do a good painting? No, that's not. The goal is to have some fun here
and to explore and to learn about the world and learn about yourself in the meantime.
And so failure isn't really an option because time spent painting is a success,
no matter what. All right, I want a big wave crashing right over here. A lot of stuff going
on. I want the light hitting it right there. And I want some shadows through here. Oh, this is
great. Okay, let's keep going a little bit through there. I want a pretty dark and shadowy all
through here. Oh, coming that way. And through here. I want the light not hitting some of this,
but then I want the light to hit other parts on the backside of this wave.
There. Oh, let's put in some more rocks right over here. Kind of have a mess of rocks. That'll be
nice. All right, let's think about the sun. I want, let's see here. I want this part darker
right through here, this strip. And then I want this part brighter, but these need shadows. So
let's make a shadow there. Make a shadow here. Sun's coming from over here. Long shadows. I
may or may not be able to see what is going on here. And that's okay if you don't
at this step, but as long as we can get in a little sketch, we can start there. I'm liking
that. That's really fun. Oh, and then out here, let's have some more waves crashing and hitting
with some more rocks, some choppiness going on. That'll be good. There we go. There you go. There's
the painting. Well, now we get to do the sky, this top corner. Let's put this away for now.
We might use it. Let's think here. Hmm. Let's do, well, let's, let's put some paint on our palette
here. We need some light. We'll use a lot of that. Right next to it, we'll put some burnt umber.
Good dark color. Our lights and our darks right next to each other. That'd be good.
And next to that, let's put a bunch of our turquoise. We're going to use a lot of this color
and maybe all of it. Ooh, that's a lot of it. Ooh. Okay. And now let's put our phthalo blue
next to that. Oh, we'll use a lot of that color too. It is the ocean. Purple, dioxazine purple.
Good thick color there. We're going to use a lot of paint on this canvas. I just want to go crazy
with paint today. Cover this canvas up. And alizarin crimson. I'm sure we'll use other colors
besides these, but I'm just going to put these down for now. Yellow. And I normally don't use
black on the show, but today, you know what? We're going to use some of this black that we have.
So now we're going to focus on this sky and I'm going to grab this little filbert brush.
I hold my paper towel in my left hand and I wear a glove in my left hand. That way I can clean my
brush a lot. That's very important. Okay. White. Let's mix up a good sky color here. Yellow.
Ooh, that's nice and bright. I actually really like that. Let's dirty up a little bit. Burnt
umber. A little bit more natural. A little bit more yellow. A little bit more burnt umber. Not
too much. I like it. Thick paint right up here. Quick. Don't think about it. Just put it down.
One color far away. And a lot of paint. A lot of good thick paint today. And you'll see that it's
going right over this turquoise because we really rubbed away a lot of that turquoise.
And with oil paints, that's important. It's difficult to paint over a layer that has too
much oil in it and so forth. Too much pigment. Just like that. That's enough. Right like that.
Let's have fun with these rocks now. I want to grab our black and just really get these dark.
I want this corner to be as dark as it can be. And we'll make a decision here where we want
our rocks to be hit with the sun. Right here. Not so much. Dark in the corner. You'll notice with
my paintings I do this a lot. I make an excuse to make something very dark in the corner.
I do it a lot. All right. Right up to here. Like that. Down like this. Coming back this way.
The direction is important. Think about what the rocks are doing. What's happening.
Nice. Oh some more darkness right through here. Painting is freeing and it's healing.
I don't know all the reasons why. I just do it and it works. Brightens my day every time.
There. Dark side of those. All right. This part here. This part again. And look at this.
It's actually the light is hitting the oil paint because it's so thick and it's creating all these
ideas of what the rock is doing even though it's just one dark color. You can you can do that.
That's a way to cheat when you're oil painting. It's great. Really want to get the shape here
just right. There. A lot of things that you didn't even plan start coming out when you're
doing these dark rocks. Let's put some more up here. Let's just make this dark. We'll add
highlights later and make it make sense. Just random. Great. And this guy up here. Impressionists.
Someone commented the other day. They said oh no they they wouldn't paint quickly.
Impressionists would take a long time. Well guess what? The Impressionists were all different from
each other. Some painted very quickly. Some painted very slowly. Vincent would go out in
an afternoon and just paint really quickly. Whatever he wanted. Monet would take a long
time. Sometimes years perfecting his paintings. So we can all be different. You don't have to
oh this is the way they did it. I have to do it that way. It doesn't work like that. You need to
find your own way. Don't copy me either. Me included. Nobody. Find your own method. Okay
that's working. I like it. Let's come up here now and make a distant purple cliff. Now this purple
color. We can just add it to this. And that yellow will tone it down. Look at this. Far away purple
color. I don't know why but this color purple makes things look so far away. Well I do know
why. It's because of atmospheric perspective. When things get farther away they get more
desaturated and a lot of colors will go towards this purple. There. Love it. Simple.
Now next to it let's get a little bit darker. We can add some more purple to this and some more
blue. And mix that together. Come through here. That's good. A little bit darker. A little bit
closer but still far away. We can just kind of go. Let's just cover this whole thing with this color.
The rest of this area. More blue. More purple. Mix up some more of it.
More of this yellow. A little bit of white. There we go. A little bit more purple.
A little bit more white. Fun. Maybe they can come off that way a little bit. There's no technique
here. Don't try to. Don't try. Just put the paint down. Do not think. Do not. Do not try to blend
it and make it all pretty. Just go quick. This will work. You gotta trust me. Just go quick.
Believe in yourself. Let's bring some through here. Rocks are even closer than these. Like that.
Perfect. And all the way up here. Let's let's get this covered up. Distant cliffs. All right. Now
let's take this blue color that's already here. We'll add a little bit of white to it. Add a
little bit of turquoise to it. That's our magic color today. A little bit more white. It's going
be far away. We're going to do the the water right on the horizon here. Right along this edge.
There. And we can bring that down just a little bit. Sideways. Big sideways strokes. See that?
It's all about getting the right color. Bringing it this way. Bringing it down.
Bringing it closer. And now some more turquoise. Let's add that to it. See what happens.
As it gets closer I think that be more expressed. Let's put some more blue into it.
A little bit darker here and there. Maybe some things are happening like that.
We're getting a little bit darker as we come towards us. And let the paint break on the layer
below it. What I mean by that is it kind of has this dry feel. And you do that by being very very
soft with it. Like that. Oh that's glorious. How fun. And some more of this turquoise. And
let's put in a few a little bit of burnt umber. There we go. A little bit more white.
A little bit more. Hmm. Just some more marks through here by this rock. Back and forth.
Little waves. I think what I want to do is kind of go through this area here.
Put down some more water. And then put a little bit of white like the sun is hitting it here and
there from behind it. I think that'll look good. Okay so I want to grab this white. Just put it
here. Doesn't need to be pure white. Just really bright. Brighter than everything else. And we
just hit it. A few little spots. There. Making sure we're pretty straight.
Oh and right back here. Let's bring it all the way. Like that. Okay. And I can even peek through
here and there a little bit so we can keep track of it. Working forward here. I think I want to
have some waves on this side of this rock. Just hitting. Kind of coming out.
Coming that way. We can have a bunch of water hitting this rock too. Front. Behind it. Don't
need to do too much here. Just minimum. I want to express some of that purple again. Let's
add some fun purple colors. Oh that's pretty. There we go. Oh some through here.
Shadowy parts where the sun isn't hitting the wave. Oh glorious fun. Okay let's grab some of
this. Oh you know what we need? Burnt sienna. I keep adding all these colors. Darn it. It's because
I keep seeing these pretty colors. All right burnt sienna. Let's add it to this. Bright burnt
sienna. But not too bright. The sun's hitting part of this rock. Like that. And a little bit of this
alizarin crimson and some yellow. Just playful fun colors. Let's make this rock a little bit bigger.
Sun's hitting parts. This one too. Little parts it's hitting. Sculpting. Making rocks and stuff.
It's so fun. And we can put a few little guys out here a little bit. Oh let's grab some blue.
Right over here. Deep blue. Let's put in some shadowy blues on these rocks to sort of
bring that blue color in. Dark parts where the sun is not hitting. See how easy that is to make
rocks and stuff? Oh glorious. A few little dark marks through there. That's a very fun little
area. Let's play with these rocks now and then we'll keep moving down. Let's grab. Well let's
let's look at these for a second. Think about them. Hmm what could happen here? Hmm well let's
put some some dark. Let's get some black and mix it with this blue. Get some dark blue stuff going
on back here. But not too dark. Let's add a little bit of this to it. Bring it up a little bit.
There we go. And I think what I want to do with this is is make it look farther away
by putting in some dark colors here. Let's do this. Let's put in all these dark colors.
What the heck? Very dark. But then let's uh let's scrape it away. I'll show you what I mean.
I'm going to grab this scraper. Go like this. Makes it farther away. Okay now just have some
rocks stand out. We could kind of do that here and there. You know little things. Okay now let's
uh let's make the sun hit parts of it. So let's grab this through here. Let the sun just hit some
of these parts. And where the sun hits where it's bright this can show up just fine. Oh make make
some parts really bright. That's fun. Just too bright. Up here. Let's have this really be bright.
What's fun here is this relationship between that purple and this right next to each other standing
out. That's just glorious. Let's have the sun be hitting all this back here. Let's first put in a
little bit of blue and wipe it away. Let that color come through here and there. Now we'll hit this
with this bright stuff. Cliffs really far away that are just really getting hit with this sun.
Marks. That's nice. Simple. And we can kind of make it look farther away by
swiping it away. Pushes it back a little bit. Puts more of these colors through. That's nice.
Kind of make uh let's make it so you can kind of see the ocean here.
A little teeny bit. Pretty bright where the sun could be kind of sneaking through.
Just hitting some things. Makes these rocks stand out a little bit better.
That's great. A little bit of purple might push this back too. Let's let's mix some of this purple
together. There we go. Some purple stuff going on. It's really far away though so you know we don't
need to really think about every little part. Just give it the idea that something back here
is happening. And now let's grab some deeper burnt, just straight burnt sienna. I love burnt sienna.
Look. Some darker parts here and there. Rocks. Let's make this part stand out more.
Important rock. And we can put some red into these areas there. Good.
All that is fun. I want some deep deep blue now. Sort of way back. I don't know that's with
burnt umber to it. Extra blue. I want some dark parts back here too. And we'll scrape
that color away. But I want some dark colors. And the reason why I want some more darks through
here is because our wave is right here. And I would really want the wave to stand out. So I
want to put very dark colors next to it. That's good. And a few other really dark marks through
here just to really get some some more depth. Good. And a little bits back here. Yeah.
Little shadows from things. All right. Let's continue. Let's work on the water through here.
This is going to be a lot of fun. Let's get a deep turquoise going. Really deep.
Kind of rub it through here. All through here. Let's just get this in here first. In fact,
check this out. We can just use this paper towel. Rub it in. Grab the paint. Rub it in.
Don't need to wait for a brush. Get this darker. I want this turquoise color through here.
And through here. Oh no. This is a whole new level of laziness. Don't even want to use a
brush anymore. Just get it down quicker. I do love working quick. I love that. All right.
Hey, that works. Gorgeous color. Oh, that's pretty. You know what? While we're at it,
let's put some through here. I think it'll come in handy later.
There. Bunch of that turquoise color. Glorious. Okay. Let's grab this kind of bluish color
and just go to town. I want a bunch of bunch of waves. So look at this. Hold your brush like this.
Just sort of think wave. Back and forth. And our hands will make mistakes and we'll just make
random stuff happen. And then we can use that later and build on it and improve on it. Because
nature's random. So we can kind of use, like I said, we are nature. You are nature. So remember
that when you're painting. Utilize yourself. Yourself is the most important part of this
equation. It's not the painting. It's your attitude. It's your confidence. It's your
desire to paint what you're painting and to enjoy it. So let this color behind here
show through. We want that. Plus this lighter color. See what's happening here so quickly?
It doesn't have to take a long time. Just all these little waves. Now we can go through with
white. Not pure white though. Don't just grab pure white. Just really bright blue. Now we can
make the sun hit some parts. Wow. Through here at the base of this. Let's get that really bright.
Around these rocks the water will break. So let's make these waves. Add some yellow to this white.
Yellow it up. Why not? Oh that's better. Warm it up. As it comes towards us, more of that yellow
can come through. That's fun. I keep making all these sound effects. I can't help it. The ocean's
loud. It's moving. Things are happening. You can do that too. Make the sound effects.
Okay. Isn't that just delightful? Just keep going here. And now let's grab some
of this turquoise. Phthalo turquoise. Mix it with some white. And we can put in a few more
little parts. Make it more complicated. Right off. A little bit brighter of areas. Pretty.
I'm sure I'll come over here and do more work. But let's get in some purple stuff through here.
Because that's green. I want some purple. So let's grab some purple. Mix it right here. Why not?
Purple, purple, purple. Add some white to it. Hmm. I like that. Let's add some more purple.
Some more white. Use the colors that are already on your palette that you've used. So you can
kind of desaturate colors. Make them a little bit different. Less out of the tube.
Let's try that. Oh, that's pretty.
Maybe a little bit darker. Add some more purple. A little bit of burnt umber.
That sure is fun. That's lively, isn't it? So now think wave. And by the way,
we're just using one brush for this whole painting. One freaking brush. That's it.
No need to use more than that. Man, that's a fun purple color. That is just alive and happening.
So this is the shadow side of our wave that's breaking. Let's get in all those good little
motions. Churning. Turning on itself. Let that show through with your brushwork.
It's easy. Just think about it and it happens. Painting's easy. It really is.
And it gets easier the more you do it. So do it a lot. If you like it, just do it a lot.
A lot of people make excuses. They don't actually paint a lot. They just do it once in a while.
The more you paint, the better you'll get. But that's not why we paint. We paint because
we like it. We paint because it's fun and because it's something that we can do
as a human to appreciate our planet. And that's why we paint. Oh, I want to put some more of this
purple back here just so we can justify it up front. See that? If I put some back there now,
it just all makes sense. Okay, let's add some blue kind of deeper areas too here and there. See that?
Breaks it up. Introducing that color there. Add some more shape to this. More is going on.
There we go. Glorious. Okay, let's have some fun. Let's put some more white on this palette.
A lot of it. And now we're going to think wave. I'm going to add the smallest amount of yellow to
this. Okay. A little bit orange. More white. Let's make it bright. But I want it to feel hot
and not just pure white. See how different this is from that? So not as pure white.
Hitting the canvas. Letting this wave become three-dimensional and break. Happen. There.
That's happening. Just keep hitting that canvas. Make some texture over here. See that? This is
the side of the wave that's getting hit with the light. All of a sudden we're adding all
this three-dimensionality to this wave just by doing this. That's delightful. Coming this way
on top of that purple. Breaking up this way. Some more of it through here. Coming through.
Some back here. All the way on the edge of this. Look at all that white. That might be working.
Let's have a wave breaking right here too. A little bit more. It's kind of coming over.
Hitting something. Hitting a rock underneath there that we can't see. And coming back here,
I want to add, let's add a couple dark rocks here. Kind of like that. You know what? I want
to add just little things. Some dark marks like it's, you can kind of see a rock that it might be
hitting. Or two. There. Okay. Let's take our turquoise again. Mix it with white. Very, very
bright. The sun is hitting this area back here. Turquoise. Water. Things are happening. Hitting
these rocks like that. Very, very bright. And let's work on these rocks just for a minute.
Let's add some bright burnt sienna. Little marks. Not too much. Little things happening. There.
And some more bright marks through here too. That's fun. Let's just make it bright and crazy.
But not too much. Can really overdo that. Oh, that yellow. Oh, that's glorious.
Let's add some more yellow to this. Just warm it up. There we go. Okay. I want to work on the
shadowy side through here where the sun is casting a shadow because of this. Dark, dark stuff. So,
hmm. Let's add, let's get this dark turquoise again. Put some through here. Rub that in.
Rub that into the canvas. Make it dark. That works. There. And all through here. Let's just
make this all dark because little things will show through. And this will really help that
shadow just be really confident and sharp so we can really communicate this type of lighting.
That's what this is all about for me. I love lighting. I'm a cinematographer. I've shot a
lot of commercials. But it's not my first love. My first love is painting. But when you're a
cinematographer, you've got to think about lighting. So, hey, I'm encouraging you now,
just if you haven't been, pay attention to that light. It makes your life better.
It's not a stress. It's not something to complain about. Light isn't something that's physical.
It's a beautiful thing. It puts you in a beautiful headspace when you're thinking
about the lighting of something. Oh, let's do, let's do more of this deep turquoise. And we'll
use this for our, for our color at first. For these shadows coming across. Oh, that's glorious.
Long shadows. That'll be kind of our base there.
I want to bring this out more. I want to make these shadows really long.
Like the sun is really low. So this wave, it's kind of casting this long shadow.
Kind of going through here. Wonderful. Now, look, all we have to do is grab this white,
mix it with this. Let's add some purple to it because it's in the shadows.
A little bit of yellow to offset it. Okay. Now look, we can just have this foam.
Maybe a little bit darker. I want to add this blue to it. Let's add some blue.
Get it down. Some burnt umber. I'm so messy today with these. I like going fast though. You know,
it's fun. Okay. Look at these stringy things that can be happening. This is the foam.
I love painting ocean foam. Ooh, there we go. And through here, it will really just,
because it's farther away from us, we won't see into that turquoise as much. So let's cover that
up as it goes back because there's a lot of foam. And through here, just adding more of that foam
back in. So you can see that deep sea and then that brighter foam. That is just fun. I want to
bring out some crazy colors on this rock. Let's grab some orange and some alizarin crimson. Mix
those together. That'll really make this pop forward a lot closer to us. A little bit of this
turquoise. Ooh, that brought that red down. We'll use it. We'll use it a little bit here and there.
But see how that green brought it down too much? I used too much. Okay. Let's bring in our alizarin
crimson again and some orange to that. There we go. Let's make the front of this just hot
from the sun. There. We don't need to do too much. Just, let's give this guy a little bit of
love. Ooh, let's add some yellow. Bring it up. And some orange. Oh, craziness. Crazy, crazy.
Isn't that just pretty? Now we'll bring in some of this deep phthalo blue into the shadow here.
There. Sort of make that feel cooler. Great. All right. Now let's work on this sunny area.
I think I want the shadows to be more blue, a little bit brighter, a little bit more purple,
more fun. Something like that more. There we go. But that darker color underneath helps. See?
Creates all that depth. Do darker colors first. Isn't that nice? Okay. Ooh, that's fun. Let's just
do this. This corner here. Let's put this in here. This blue. Just scrub it in through here.
More of that blue color just happening in more spots. Good. Just here and there. It'll show
through. Ooh, let's grab some of this turquoise. Put it right here. Make some crazy. Ooh, that's
pretty. Let's put this here and there. That's one darn pretty color. Tell you that. Right up
against this rock on the back side of it. Oh, that's pretty. I'm telling you, I love this
turquoise. It's a very pretty color. Right up to that rock. Between there and down there.
All right, all right, all right. Let's take all of our white now. Put it here. Add some yellow to it.
Make a bright yellow. Very, very bright. And now we're talking thick paint here. This is straight
up sea foam up close to us. And look, on the back side of this rock, we can make it just pop and
just make that shadow pop by bringing this white around. See my brush here? The paint gets up.
I always say it's like a kid when they're eating pancakes. They
always get the syrup on their hands, huh? All right. It goes right up the fork, huh?
Look at that pop. It just pops because of everything else we've done in these dark rocks.
So this right here, the ocean's just going to really pop there. Oh, that's pretty.
That's working. That's working. Let's continue our sea foam. See this? This is in the shadows.
But now let's continue that idea. So it's like an immediate transition into the sun.
And these hard transitions really make a painting work, in my opinion.
When everything's mushed together, it's just kind of boring for me. So I like hard darks against
lights. That contrast really works, doesn't it? There. I was going to do a little rock there,
but I decided not to. Covered it right on up. And some more white, some more yellow.
Mix those together. No medium here. Just the paint, especially up front here.
You can just do thick, thick oil paint. It makes it seem closer to us.
Painting waves is so easy. If you've never done a painting before, you could probably do this
painting yourself. It's not that hard. But get some thick oil paints. That is important.
Thick oil paints. Oh, I want to go right up to the front of this rock, too.
There. Really make it stand out. And then, because I kind of went over it there,
we can just sort of just go over this again. Take some more paint, mix up some more,
and then look at this. All of this can be bright, bright from the sun. There.
I really want this on the front side of this, so this can stand out, that rock.
And now, the star of the show here up front. Let's have some fun with some yellows,
a little bit of alizarin crimson, and we can hit this with the bright sunlight.
Hit this guy a little bit. Build up that texture. Hit this again, right on the top of that.
Some darker colors first, and then we'll put in our little brighter ones. I got too excited.
There. And some orange. Let's just do some straight up, pretty much straight orange,
guys. Something's happening. Something quick. And some blue. Just put that in the corner here.
Cold, deep shadows way back here. Right up against these. I just want to make this look darker.
Boom. Oh, that blue is just glorious. Deep color. That's really working. And now up here,
I want to add a little bit of our fun, yellowy color all over through here. Just build this up
a little bit more. Let that be a party through here. And then a little bit brighter through
here. Right up against here. Let's have it be looking like it's coming closer to us.
More stuff. Brighter. There. Whoa. Crazy. And I want this rock to be just a little bit more fun.
So let's grab this white that we have. Let's grab all of our orange, a little bit of red,
a bunch of yellow. Just make something crazy. Oh, that feels right. That feels right.
And thinking about the way these rocks are shaped, trying to make something a little bit
more interesting looking here. Let's get something bright there. And we can make this a little bit
bigger. Nice. I want to take this orangey color and just make sure it's really desaturated.
Just hit like there's rocks way back here. Just things happening right along the edge,
the horizon. That's nice. And with that, folks, we're done. This was a fun, quick little ocean
painting with a lot of drama, beautiful wave, pretty colors. I'm really happy with how this
turned out. And you could do this too. And if you want to be an artist, you can be.
It's not that hard. All you have to do is be a little nuts. See you guys later.
