How we all doing out there? Now I have to thank Maxwell for this one and he sent us a picture
of it on farm foods, well I got it from farm foods, no he sent us a picture on Instagram
with a few other little items as well so come and have a look what I got. This is that,
Grant's chicken curry, generous chunks of tender chicken in a spicy curry sauce,
no artificial flavours or preservatives, 100% recyclable packaging, we've got a little traffic
light system, amounts per half can. Grant's, oh I remember, it's quite a good, Grant's is pretty
good. I did, what did I do many moons ago when I first started the channel, I think it was Haggis,
Grant's Haggis for a Burns Night, cool, going back four or five years ago. So the price,
I got it in farm foods like I said, £1.99 or you can get three tins for a fiver. Now they do
different ones, stewed steak comes to mind, chicken in white wine sauce, so yeah pick this
up, not seen it before, so cheers Maxwell. Let's have a look at the packaging, right I'll put my
go-go gadget eyes on, need them for this because the writing looks very small. So we've had a look
at the front, let's go around the side, we've said that spiel haven't we, so we've got some more
spiel there, this tradition of excellence has been handed down through the generations and today,
we pride ourselves on using the finest ingredients to produce premium quality meals
to be enjoyed at home or on the move, got some more spiel there. So what is it, chicken breast
pieces in a curry sauce with onion and coconut, there's the ingredients, we've got allergen of
wheat in there, we've got breast, chicken breast 35%, yeah they look all right them ingredients
don't they, they do yeah, they look quite clean as we say. So serves two, GB sticker 392 grams and
it's got a ring pull, surely that they used to be 400 grams didn't they, and cans, they're getting
smaller and smaller. A little bit of storage information there, any more information, if I
do catch any more information on it I'll put it in the description of the video. Right let's get
this open and give it a shake and see what we've got. Right so I've got a ring pull, yeah so it's
sort of a coconutty type curry and there's a chilli rating on there, didn't see it, oh one, there's a
one chilli rating so it's very mild isn't it, it's a very mild curry, yeah. I have done a chicken
curry comparison many moons ago, so it's about a centimetre off the top. Let's get it,
let's get it on the hob, let's get it warmed up. So I'm doing mine in a pan on the hob, if you want
to do it in the microwave you can do so, let's get it in there, oh big bit of chicken there, oh big
bits of chicken, it is a bit watery but cool, look at them bits of chicken, wow, I don't think I've
seen big bits of chicken like that in a tinned curry before. I'll get it all out and I'll warm
it up, I'll give it a stir and I'll show you. So I'm just stirring it, just stirring it, I don't
want to boil it but there's onion in there as well and the coconut it's giving it sort of the
that colour, big bits of chicken yeah, wow, yeah smelling good as well. Now I know you can make
your own curries if you want to but I'll read this out because I just think it says, it says
since 1885 grants have created premium quality products designed for convenience and I think
convenience is obviously the, is the whole idea of this, it's just convenient and exceptional flavour.
Yeah I mean they all serve a purpose don't they, you know you get home from work and you just can't
be bothered cooking and you just want something quick, quick and easy, perfect over a load of
rice or even half and half rice and chips. It's done so I haven't got rice or chips, I'm just
gonna try this as it is, look at them big bits of chicken like that, goodness me I've never seen a
tinned curry like that before, I know I said that before but wow, chicken breast as well,
I hope it tastes good, right let's have a look, so yeah it's a bit watery but I'll forgive that
because look at that chicken, look at all that chicken, yeah, right see a bit of onion there as
well, a little bit of onion, where was it gone, there it is there, a bit of onion, I do like onion,
right let's try it, oh so I'm looking forward to trying this, yeah wow, that big bit of chicken
I'm gonna get stuck straight into that bit, obviously you know a load of rice like I said,
load of chips, all the bits and bobs to go with it, it's mild, that was a big bit of chicken,
it's very mild, very creamy, coconut, mild tomato, that is proper chicken breast as well,
it's not, you know, it's proper chicken breast, I'm going in again, I've reviewed something very
similar, where was it from, was it from, I don't think it was from Aldi, I've done Aldi's hot
chicken curry before, they'll have to have a look in my comparison playlist or my chicken playlist,
it'll be in one of them, the spices are very subtle, not so overpowering with coconut but
it's creamy, it's not my kind of a curry but it's all right, it's tasty but it's not my kind
of a curry, I like them a lot more, I'm a vindaloo kind of a person when it comes to curries, I do
like a lot of heat, a lot of spice but flavour as well as heat, this is very mild, very very mild,
korma type mild but we are all different of course, we all like different things and if you
like a mild, very lightly spiced, creamy, lots of chicken curry for convenience, I would say that's
you, that's your can, Grant's that is good, very good, very very good, very good, used to get that
at school when I was a kid, used to get, I didn't get very good often mind, all good and I never got
any gold stars neither, they were like bronze, I did try, right I'm going in again, I'll finish
this, I'll finish that, it is, it's very very mild, very very mild but it's good, it's good,
it's, I would be tempted to stick plenty of chilli in it just to give it some heat but
that's my personal preference, that's what I would do but I wouldn't buy it, I wouldn't buy it anyway
because I like them hot, you know, I like my curries hot but there's nothing wrong with that,
nothing wrong with that at all, that score's very very high, I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go nine,
nine and a half, it's yeah, I'm going up there and the ingredients are clean as well, no nasties,
no nasties, I just see rapeseed oil in there but that's depending on how it's
manufactured isn't it, so thanks for watching and thank you very much Maxwell for the recommendation,
I do appreciate it, I will be trying, I've got something else to try as well and I'm going to
get into this now, so take care, all the best and I'll get back to you on the next one.
