Liam Lawson: Post-race interview | 2026 Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix

Hi Liam, sorry to see your FP2 session cut short there. Can you just explain what happened in the cockpit, how it all unfolded from your side? Yeah we just had a small issue and yeah it's something that we can easily fix for tomorrow but yeah it meant that we couldn't obviously do the middle part of the session so it's frustrating but it's yeah obviously better that it happens today and not tomorrow and it's obviously good So nothing too serious then and what else did you learn today out in the car? Honestly we've had quite a quick car like from the start of P1, start of P2 as well, the first set was good so yeah overall I think honestly we're in a good place which is nice so we just need to take the learnings from today. Obviously we'll look at the other car in P2 and what they learnt and try and take that into tomorrow. You mentioned Armie there up there in the top 10 again so does that give you confidence with a smoother run tomorrow that something good is on the cards for Qualy? We hope so, we weren't sure too much what to expect here, obviously we had a package that we bought to Canada and we haven't really been able to test it in high speed anywhere and this was the first time so it's performing well which is great and yeah but obviously we expect everybody else to keep improving and I'm sure it'll be close tomorrow.
