Hello, my name is Edo. I'm an educator, entrepreneur, and online instructor.
What I do best is making education simpler. I would investigate a topic for at least eight
months before I create material that is easy to learn from. For example, I will take 20,000
boring pages from different sources and experiments and convert everything into a
I have an interesting background as an educator. I was working in the field of conflict
transformation, peace building, and human rights. In the last five years, I worked in the field of
entrepreneurship and language learning. I have visited 36 countries and met some of the best
educators and trainers who taught me how to process information and teach. My courses are a
will understand how I learned Spanish and Portuguese so you can use the exact same
method with other languages. This course has been developed with a co-instructor,
Maria Rodriguez. What are you going to learn in this course? You will learn to read. You will
memorize the most frequent words that represent 80% of daily communications. Important grammar.
I will teach you how to compose your own sentences. You will be able to express any
idea in a new language in a few weeks. There are 27 simple quizzes to help you learn and practice.
This course is designed for individuals or group learning. It means that you can learn together
with roommates and or family. Good luck. Welcome and let's start. In this lesson,
we will introduce the first pack of words that will provide you a learning base.
All the words from this lesson should be written on the post-its or stickers
and posted where indicated. For example, on one post-it, we can write down the word door
and it means that this post-it should be posted on the door you use the most in your home.
Now my colleague will tell you how to pronounce these words correctly. You can repeat each lesson
as often as you want in order to learn how to pronounce it. Each word comes with an icon
and translation.
puerta cama sábanas lámpara almohada armario estantería luz ventana alfombra
mesa silla cuadro pared camiseta pantalones bañador gafas móvil libro periódico bolígrafo
llave vela cielo flor blanco black arriba abajo izquierda derecha encima de debajo de
enfrente de detrás de You will notice that there are many mini quizzes in this course.
Every 15 days, we tend to add a new one. Practicing and repeating is crucial for
language learning. Each quiz is designed so you can practice and repeat vocabulary
and so that you can understand how to compose sentences. Most of the words are ones that we
are learning during the course. When you find a new word that is not yet presented in the course,
just open Google Translate and translate it. That is another important part of your learning process.
I have tried to put everything together in one place, but there will always be some words that
you use more than others. And if you cannot find them in this course, just Google and insert your
word in these constructions. By investigating by yourself, you'll be even more engaged to learn
better. This course narrows down the most frequently used words converted into daily
sentences. I have designed two approaches so you can choose the one that fits your learning needs.
So, how does it work? We will be reading carefully designed sentences so you can learn
pronunciation. You will practice with the same sentences in order to learn how to read and how
to construct them. At the same time, you will learn important vocabulary. I have designed two
learning approaches here, and you can either choose one or combine them. First approach.
After each exercise, you should download the prepared packages with sentences.
All sentences should be cut from our material or written on post-its and posted on the objects in
your house. For example, in the shower, you can post translation of the following sentences.
I am taking a shower. And, can you pass me the towel, please? And, or, where is the shower gel?
Each time you take a shower, you'll be looking at these phrases and eventually memorize them.
Not just that, you will even be very comfortable using them.
Next step. By memorizing one construction, you will be able to change just one word in order
to express another thought. So, instead of saying, can you pass me the towel, please?
You can replace the word towel with any other word. For example, with salt or dress. And,
you will be able to say, can you pass me the salt, please? Or, can you pass me the dress, please?
When you post all the words and sentences around the house, you will just need to walk around,
live your daily life, and you will be able to memorize them bit by bit. This is exactly how
I learned to be fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. Second approach. In case you don't want to put
post-its all around your house, I have another solution. You may download and print PDF files
and memorize words and phrases by using YourWay. Each downloadable PDF comes with a translation.
You will see that we designed a line ready to be cut once you know how to use this word.
I recommend that you leave the translation in for at least two weeks, and after, just remove them.
I will also teach some other techniques to memorize words, and you can choose the ones
that fit you best. Este vaso está sucio o limpio. Siempre bebo agua de este vaso.

constructions and only 50 verbs. If we memorize only four constructions expressed in red letters
plus important verbs colored in blue, we will be able to express hundreds of actions.
Now we only need to change a blue verb with another one to express a totally different idea
or action. One tip for future tense. Just memorize I am going to and you are going to plus blue verb
to express your idea in the future tense. We encourage you to use all 50 plus important verbs,
but for a start, choose 25 that you use the most and start with those. All that you need to do is
remember four simple sentences, red letters, and add one of these verbs, the blue letters.
My colleague will read them so you know how to pronounce them.

This formula transformed the way I travel. It helps me speak a new language almost immediately.
To truly experience a new place, I like to visit an old barbershop, have a shave,
and hear some good anecdotes. A barbershop is a frequented place with a good old shaving technique
and a space where you can hear well-narrated stories. This exposes me to the daily life
of locals and shows me the joy of travel. Unfortunately, it usually works only if you
speak a local language. This is what you need. While traveling, I am using one simple formula
for learning new languages. This is a highly effective method which brings a lot of fun.
Here comes the formula. Ask plus write plus use 30. Ask. Find a local person who speaks your
language and ask him or her a favor to translate for you a couple of the most important phrases
that you are planning to use that day. This person could be sitting next to you on the plane
or someone that you meet in a coffee shop. Tip. Before approaching the person,
prepare the list of words or phrases that you want to learn on that day.
It will be much faster. Write. Use one sheet of paper per day that can fit as many phrases as
possible. A small piece of paper will give you the psychological advantage of memorizing
everything faster, and it's more practical to carry in your pocket. Use 30. Use at least 30
times per day each phrase or a combination of the words while speaking on various occasions
with the locals. In the shop, on the street, or on the train, for example. Be open to corrections
and feedback. Scratch one line every time you use a certain sentence. Like this, you will create a
gaming effect and you'll enjoy it even more. This is me in Morocco. We spent a day with two
Moroccan friends. Pay attention to the use 30 formula in front of me. I used each moment to
While enjoying the view from this terrace, I use my new skills to order mint tea for everyone.
If you learn just a few words, one set of sentences that will always be used at the shop or bar,
and numbers from 1 to 20, you can order almost anything. Also, you can memorize up to 20 things
that you buy often, and you're good with the shopping vocabulary. My construction looks like
Hello, I would like plus add the number plus add the item, please. This is me again, carrying my
formula and practicing while walking around. Allow your paper to be part of your day. It gives you
the power to approach anyone, so they can see that you are learning, and locals will be willing to
help you out. And, at the end of the travel, this paper becomes a nice souvenir. Thank you.
These are eight language learning tips that should encourage your learning process.
Number one, make mistakes. To say, just throw words out and see what happens. So many times
people say, I cannot travel because I don't know the language. This is so wrong. You should do the
opposite. People should travel in order to practice a new language. During one week, you will get much
motivation to learn just because you have to speak. Write down what you think and plan to say
that day in different situations. For example, write down what you are planning to say in the
shop, in the bar, in the market, in the cinema, or while buying a ticket, etc. Then, translate it and
go practice. By making mistakes, you learn. If you know only 50 words, use them with people on day
one. All babies who are learning a new language are so cute when making mistakes. Also, foreigners
who are coming to your country, when they try to speak, they look kind of cool while trying.
Well, it is cute as well when you are trying to speak a foreign language.
Number two, learn only what is important for you. If you are into cooking, learn about elements you
use in the kitchen, ingredients, tools, appliances, etc. What you do in your daily life, you'll
probably do when you are abroad. So, learn only what is most important for you and where you spend
most of your time. When you master this, then you can start learning all other things.
Number three, be simple. Practice speaking in your native language by using very short phrases.
For example, I like Twitter because it forces me to express myself in only 140 characters.
So, try to speak by tweeting. Use as short as possible phrases to express anything.
Number four, interact with the language. Use every opportunity to practice the new language and to
interact with people. If you like to read the newspaper, then read online and in a language
you are learning. Search for short articles. Translate them. Five, switch the language of your
social media. Change the setting of your apps and social networks to a language you are learning.
For example, if you switch your Facebook, you will learn at least 50 super important words
that are used almost every day. Also, when you watch a movie, watch it with foreign subtitles.
This is super powerful. Six, make a challenge. Make a bet with your friend that you will accomplish
one learning challenge in a certain time frame. For example, in case you are traveling with a
friend in some Iberia or South America, make a challenge that you will learn how to order drinks
and lunch in a restaurant and some shopping at the market in the next three days. If you don't
deliver on time, you buy a dinner. So, create a stake around the challenge and every week
create another one. Another challenge could be to learn 25 important verbs from this course
and to put them in 30 new sentences in the next 10 days. If you do not meet your goal,
you buy a weekend trip for your friend. Number seven, convert learning into a game. When posting
stickers in the house, it is interactive and playful and you can do it with your family and
friends. You may also create a script for 10 conversations on different topics. Find friends
who will practice these 10 situations with you. Number eight, find a foreign friend who will
practice the language with you. You may teach this person your language or any other skill
and they teach you a new language. What's next? We are constantly updating new lessons.
Sometimes new updates are presented as video lessons, interviews, or just as plain text.
Also, we are preparing different travel packages that you can carry with you.
We will deliver them for free to all our students. If you have any questions,
please let us know. I would love to help. Thank you for leaving a review.
