100,000$ Boat in Dangerous River

All right guys we have a Pretty exciting one for me today. We are on a small little local river. You can see it's not very wide. You can see the ripples Currents ripping right now. I don't think I have ever in my entire life been here at daylight I don't think I ever have so We're gonna see if we can catch them. We got a little bit of current running. It's already went off So the water should be dropping Falling we don't really have great conditions, but Still pretty excited to get out here and try to catch them. We're gonna Try to catch them a fun way today Got me a raffle of claptail out Hopefully we get a bite or two on that thing if we got to if I throw a wacky rig around a drop shot, we never really know but Man, it's a cool place to fish. I love fishing down here. So without further ado See if we can't find us a daggum big All right guys That is the starting plug right there I was in there doing some digging had to get me a frog out also but This is a really really fun bite When they get on it one crazy thing The first fish I ever caught in a tournament on this claptail Was almost an eight pounder Actually in an elite series of tournament Caught one almost eight. I can't remember exactly what it weighed, but it was like 7.13 or something like that Either way, that's a dang big Be pretty fun to catch one like that today It's almost Mesmerizing To just listen this thing come back to you. You know, the cool thing about this is It actually has a rotating hook hanger right there on the front that is a big deal For all treble hook baits And I definitely believe it helps You ever tell I quit talking when I threw that sucker right there I thought the good shot Of getting nipped on right there I would have thought Still believe it was a good shot I really don't know how these fish even act in the morning I've only ever fished over here in the evenings And you can throw this bait a mile And then just hear the jingling and jangling coming back to you I I got a suspicion We're gonna hear Kaboosh at some point in the near future Time to get out the big guns Got the old pig stick This right here is actually the new hook i'm using For a wacky rig that is the gamakatsu What is this thing called Gosh super tuned drop shot hook super tuned That's what i've been throwing For a little while now i've been i've always thrown the drop shot split shot two alt on a wacky rig And then this super tuned one came out and it's got a little bit different bend to it You can see it's actually got a Comes around kind of bends down and then the hook point actually kind of kicks up so It kicks up so it catches catches a little bit of meat And then whenever you get it in there, it kind of locks it down right there at the barb There's a new outsider treble also That's pretty similar And i'm telling you I got to test those outsider trebles and You're not getting them out without a pair of pliers. It's not not going to happen It hooks them so good Using the treble made me super excited for this hook Because I know how that treble hooks them and I know how this is going to hook them so what are this I knew how this was going to hook them. I've been fishing this for a while now, but that's what I like a lot of guys like the stinger stinger is a great hook. I like the stinger too, but I just I got a lot of confidence throwing a little bit smaller hook. The cool thing about these hooks are They're small But they're made of a termite grade wire. So You can actually put a lot of force on these hooks And they don't bend you can't you I mean Very very very difficult to bend them out like very difficult It's basically not going to happen Let me just post up right here for a second See if we can't get us one to carry this thing pig stick off Catching the grass That's what I was throwing the uh top water over Just a lot of grass right here a lot of hydrilla Fish fish use it some They don't use it a ton But there's definitely some fish here Just couldn't get them to Come up on that On that dang top water. I don't know what the deal was with that Just couldn't get them to come up on it I think it's because The water temp here usually ruins I mean A good bit cooler than the lakes around here. So Lakes around here probably low 80s right now So i'd imagine The water here is probably Gosh 70. I don't have a graph on but I bet the water here is 70 or lower I made a Instagram video about this pig stick, but man when you pull it you can feel it Like you can really feel that sucker Me and wheeler was calling it zipping them was in south africa, but You can feel this sucker moving when you pull it Come on fish Ain't no reason to be this way Turn my graph on see what the water temp is anyways The heck do I got? I got a dang turtle Odds are I would catch a turtle. That's all there is over here Literally, that's all there is a hundred a million of these I've only caught like three turtles in my entire life, but I got one right now You're going the wrong way fella, where are you headed big dog? What are you trying to get out? You can't Get me a little turtle I knew I had something but I didn't know what it was Don't put it on that piece of wood Unbelievable, I mean Unbelievable Been a long time since I caught a turtle First one ever caught I caught on jerkbait Right there That ought to be a solid cast What is that? Dang bluegill It's actually a shell cracker pretty one We've caught everything on the pig stick but a pig Everything but a pig so far pigs next There we go There we go, there's a bass nice one too That's what i'm talking about Get down there and grab it Come here fella Look at that hook Right where you want it Telling you them that little bend On that hook it makes them so hard to get out Unbelievable That's a pretty one. God these fish over here are so pretty. I mean, he's probably only a One pounder but He is pretty Just oh Show my rookie status nice little one pounder Or three pounder Somewhere in there That's what I had to do. I just had to start Going so slow I mean, I just started back there kind of fan casting this sucker. It is hard for me to fish this way I am not a fan Of fishing that slow like that But I started fan casting back there. I did it for about 10 minutes Then I had a bite I didn't catch it. It just took my worm But I had a bite Oh, I thought I had one tricking me this place can be so tough But right now it is It's very very tough And it's dangerous nothing but rocks Everywhere we're on a little flat right now But for the most part, it's just straight rocks out in the middle of this sucker everybody's always Everybody that knows I fish over here. Sometimes they're like man. How do you put that big boat in there and not tear it to pieces? and I may tear it up on the way back today, but I know where most of the rocks are not all But I definitely know where most of the rocks are a sketchy place You can get a little squirrely. We'll get a little western sometimes They start generating some current some heavy current Have your boat coming down through here in circles trying to fish And I used to love that I don't hardly come over here no more when they're generating I just about only fish over here when they're not now which right now they They were this morning. They're not now It's about as bad a condition as you can get You won't know the truth of the matter going painfully slow this is a exercise to my patience Which I don't have a lot of Got me a little All right. We are In my wife's office right now editing this video and I realized I did not make an outro But the river got me it got me really really good I only caught like two bass a turtle and a shell cracker, but that place has them had some phenomenal days over there I filmed over there before but The water was on it ran all night and it went off that morning And then I got there as it was going off and the water fell That is not good condition. That's some of the worst conditions you can have in a river, but I appreciate y'all watching still fun to get out over there at daylight for the first time ever and fun to catch one good one on a pig stick and The anticipation of the claptail.
