Patrick's 1967 Mustang that was built to outrun the modern day 5.0 Coyote Mustang in stock form. We go on a drive and do a test run. Then we go over what all that has been done to the car to make 400 horsepower and weigh only 2980 lbs. Once we both get a tire, we will see if it can outrun a stock s550 10 speed in the quarter mile. Hope you enjoy!

We're about to give it a test run. Yeah. Let us know if it's a coyote killer. Here we go.
The 270 AC. Two windows down, 70 miles an hour. Yeah, that's all we got. It's hot. That's all we
got. The 270. Hard to beat this feeling. Just cruising. There's something about this. Hard
to beat it. Cruise 80 miles an hour. No steering wheel vibration. No, it's a great car. Well built.
But is it a coyote killer? That is the question. Nobody cares unless it's a coyote killer.
We're gonna find out. Then everybody's just gonna say you should have put a coyote in it.
No, you did right. You kept it. Coyotes don't lope though. No, coyotes don't lope. Heck yeah, man.
I like a lot about this. We're about to give it a test run. Yeah.
Here we go. Let us know if it's a coyote killer. Here we go.
It kept pulling now. Yeah. No, I feel the extra. And it's 6100 DA today, by the way.
Right. No, that felt great. Yeah, just imagine if it got some good air. Oh, man.
And could actually launch this thing. Dude, you get some good air and get some traction. Hoosiers
or Mickey's at least. Yeah. Yeah. It might take phase two. This might be a C8 killer.
I might have to go C8 mode to hang with this thing.
The 67 that was built with a purpose. And what was that purpose? The coyote killer. The coyote
killer. We'll see. We'll see. We'll see. But no, the whole goal was build an old car that would
run with a stock 5.0 10 speed Mustang. Not going to compare modded coyote Mustangs. We all know
that'll leave this thing in the dust. But basically just wanting to run with anybody
with a stock coyote platform. And I think we're real close. I think you are too. You got the dyno
numbers. I'll put them up. You got a dyno done recently. Yeah. Wasn't really surprised. Roush
gave me a little more than advertised. So you got to love that. Didn't come back disappointed.
No, you sure didn't. So you're pushing good horsepower. It's super lightweight. That was
part of the point of your build. Yep. No AC, no power steering. What else did I give up?
Quite a bit. No radio. That was the third one. Yeah. No radio. So yeah, this is bare bones,
basic and basically just motor and exhaust. Yeah. Sacrifices were made. Yes. Yes.
But man, what a payoff. This thing's a beauty and runs great. And man, all I can say is, is it
feels a lot faster than the stock 5.0. This thing feels way more radical. Oh yeah. These old cars,
they'll give you a ride for sure. Old suspension just flexes. Yes. Yes. Why don't you go over a
little bit of what all was done to it, Patrick? So let's start with the motor. What kind of motor
did you put in it? Roush 342. Great engine. Holley 750. MSD distributor. Everybody knows that.
And then headers and Magnaflow exhaust. No cats. Didn't have cats back then.
And I know you cut a lot of weight on this car. That was part of the point of your build. So
besides just the AC and the radio, what else did you do to reduce weight on this thing?
Man, it's got wheel wood brakes, so might save a little bit over the drums. And then
these legend wheels are actually quite a bit lighter than the factory ones. That's a big
deal. There's your rotational mass. Yeah. A little bit of rotational mass, but you know,
these cars come really light already. I should have weighed it before we ever started with it,
but I'm guessing 31, 3150. And then we weighed it recently and it's under 3000. 2980. 2980.
Yeah. Barely, barely, but it got it done. Yeah. Yeah. When I got the car, it had radio and
speakers. I'm not sure if the car came that way, but they'd added that and I didn't want them. So
got rid of those. Modern driveline, five speed transmission. It was a three speed auto.
So now it's a manual. Definitely want a manual in these things. Calvert racing suspension,
that probably saves some weight. Definitely transfers it. Definitely. I've watched it.
I've been in it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We haven't draggy'd it. We have no idea what it draggy's.
No. We're saving that for the actual race. We're building the suspense even for ourselves. We have
no idea. This thing may leave me, I may be right with it. We don't know how it's going to go down,
but once I get my wheels and tires, we're going to find out, aren't we? Yep. It feels fast,
but old cars always feel fast. So that's the, that's something we just don't know.
They feel so much faster and they sound so much faster and this one really does run. So no matter
the outcome, this was done right. And man, win or lose, this is a sweet ride. So just a few
things this car still lacks. What else are you going to do to it before we run them?
Needs a true drag pack. These are good for just driving around tires, but
it will not hook on the street in the current form. And to be honest, I'm kind of falling out
of love with the wheels. So maybe some people in the comments can tell me, suggest some wheels for
me. I'm open to it, but definitely wanting to put it on a drag pack. So send me your,
send me your links of what you would like to see. And I'll definitely consider them because I'm in
the market. And then even driving around wheels, yeah, I'm kind of falling out of love. So we'll
see. Sometimes wheels, I just continue to love them and sometimes I'm like, eh, ready for something
different. So. Okay. So time for maybe something different. And maybe once I get mine on and
everything, we can catch a nice day and we're going to run and not at the track either. We're
running on the street, which kind of changes things. On the street. On the street.
