Hey folks, welcome to verified investing.com.
My name is Gareth Soloway, chief market strategist here.
Now in today's video, we're going to mainly focus on gold,
silver oil, and a few other of the precious metals,
maybe even looking at copper if we have time.
But before we do that,
we got to look at the stock market, right?
Real quick, because the stock market's closed today,
but the S&P futures are not.
Now, the interesting thing here is if we flip over
to the ES futures chart,
we can see that overnight,
the futures took a big drop, right?
Now this came mysteriously on negotiations
that were supposed to take place in Switzerland
between the US and Iran, they got canceled.
Now, frame this in the proper way.
So on Wednesday of this past week,
we had Kevin Warsh coming out and being more hawkish.
The markets cratered, they absolutely cratered, right?
We were selling off more hawkish, rates were surging up.
We saw the stock market falling sharply.
And then a deal that was supposed to be signed today
got moved up to Wednesday night between Iran and the US
to distract from what Kevin Warsh said.
Oh, we've inked the deal with Iran, the US said,
so we're all good, right?
The market said, oh yes, we actually have an ink deal.
The straight is officially going to be opened.
This is great, stock market rallied yesterday.
All right, now what happens is a day later,
they're like, oh, well,
we're not gonna continue the negotiations
or we're canceling the negotiations.
But the stock market is closed.
You guys see what I'm getting at here?
Essentially, you have a scenario here
where the president is laser focused on the stock market,
laser focused.
And if there's a big down day,
he's gonna do his best to push news out
or get something in there to distract from the negative
all the way to the positive, right?
That's the key.
Now it's even goes further than that.
So the stock market selloff was so jarring on Wednesday,
following Kevin Warsh being more hawkish
in the Federal Reserve, et cetera,
the governor's being more hawkish,
that then news was released that Apple and Intel
signed a deal for Intel to supply Apple with chips.
Now we had heard rumors about this
and it caused a rally multiple times prior,
but that's the MO, right?
If you look at it, it's Iran,
we might have a deal with Iran
and this was like a month ago,
so the stock market rallied.
Then a few days later, the stock market comes down,
oh, but we almost started a deal,
we're very close to deal,
stock market rallies back up, right?
And goes even higher.
So it's using the same news
and that's this Apple and Intel news.
We had heard about this six weeks ago
and then three weeks ago,
and it ultimately was that as soon as they needed,
as soon as the president needed a distraction,
he got this news out.
Now, what makes it even more suspicious
and I'm revealing a lot of stuff,
I'll probably be on the blacklist of something or other,
but it is what it is.
I just wanna be honest with you guys.
I see this firsthand because I'm a trader,
I'm embedded in the market constantly,
but normally news of Intel signing a deal with Apple
would be released in a PR press release
by Intel or Apple or both.
They both say, hey guys, we've inked a deal.
Guess who released the news on Intel?
The president, the government.
So think about that, the government owns Intel,
the stock market sells off,
the government has already had these rumors out there
and pushes that news out about Intel and Apple
to essentially be a second distraction.
So now you have the Iran deal signed
on Wednesday evening instead of Friday.
So that's number one.
Then the Intel Apple news, which is AI specific related.
And before you know it, you have a great rally on Friday
or on Thursday, I should say,
markets closed today on Friday.
And then what happens as soon as we get the markets closed
for three days, oh yeah, we're canceling those things.
I mean, you just can't make this stuff up.
Futures, listen, futures have bounced back a little bit,
but we're still down pretty sharply.
This is where we closed on Friday,
right up here on the S&P.
And this is where we're trading.
So, I mean, we are down about half a percent.
It's not a huge sell off,
but you can't help but wonder what's gonna come out
on Sunday night or Monday morning.
That's gonna be like, oh no, but wait,
we're gonna have negotiations this week
with Iran and Switzerland.
I mean, this is getting silly.
This is getting silly.
The manipulation's getting silly.
But listen, it is what it is.
You can build a bubble as big as you want.
Eventually it collapses and the collapse is much worse.
And that's the crazy part about it.
Let's get into gold, guys.
Gold here, folks, incredible stuff.
We are seeing downside in gold continuing.
So, here's your daily gold chart.
Beautiful sell off here over the last couple days.
Remember, we tested the 4100,
we pierced it and we got a bounce.
Now, I have a couple new trend lines I'm monitoring.
So, we have this one here, which is a great one, right?
This one really gives us a near term trend point
to watch for a breakout on gold.
On the other side, this is a trend line
that I've now started to watch very, very closely.
Check that, it's not from that point,
it is from this point here,
from this high pivot right through these lows.
Look at that, look at how that works out perfectly.
I mean, this is what I love about the charts, right?
Is that you have pivot point, pivot point,
pivot point, and pivot point.
And then on the other side,
and this is what I love to see, you have that.
So, high pivot to, it broke out, support,
came in, support, went up, support, support, et cetera.
So, essentially on both sides, if we put these in,
you can clearly see here, here, all along here.
I mean, this is just multiple hits,
and then right in here, okay?
So, this is what we would call a wedge pattern.
Now, the wedge pattern's important
because number one, it gives us support down here,
this would be at 4000 on gold,
and it also gives us resistance.
It also tells us if price breaks out,
or if price breaks this line,
does it break down?
If it breaks down, 3900, this pivot low
is my first technical support,
followed by, if that breaks, 36 to 30,
basically 3500, right, right down here.
And you can see, I mean, this is one of my favorite levels
because it was, notice how many times it hammered,
one, two, three, four, and almost five,
and then it broke out.
And there's a tendency,
and remember this from technical analysis, guys,
as I always try to teach,
when you have a trend line, right,
and you hammer on it multiple times,
it's obviously very important,
which this was very important, right?
Up, down, up, down, up, down, et cetera,
down here, and then we broke out.
When you do finally break out,
there's this tendency to wanna go back
to what we call the scene of the crime,
and then it can go even farther to the other side.
But it's almost like, you know,
your kid goes away to college or the university,
and then they come back for Thanksgiving,
or they come back for Christmas,
or they come back for a holiday,
and once they come back,
then they're like, all right, I got my home time,
now I'm going out on my own again kind of thing, right?
And that's kind of the same sort of thought process here.
And we've never retraced to the scene of the crime,
and that's part of, in technical analysis,
that's one of the reasons why I think we do need,
at some point, to go back there.
We just don't know when, right?
We obviously have support here,
then support here, all the way down to get there.
But let's be fair, the stock market was up on Thursday,
and gold sold off.
Now, a lot of that had to do with the dollar.
The dollar obviously popped the last couple days.
Now, what's interesting is the dollar's
actually slightly down today,
as the DXY is open today, right?
So the dollar's down a little bit after being up high,
but the problem is, too,
is that we're not seeing gold back to the flatline or green.
So there's this disparity of weakness in gold right now,
which makes sense, right?
We've had high, lower high, lower highs all the way down,
low, lower low, lower low,
so we are in a downtrend on gold.
There's no denying that.
The question that, as a technician, I'm looking for
is does it break out or does it break down?
Which way does it ultimately go, all right?
So these are the different factors that, as a technician,
as a chief market strategist, I'm watching,
which I always love to give to you.
These are essentially tactics and knowledge
that institutions use, but I'm a big believer that,
listen, I was a beginner and I got smoked in the markets.
Listen, I still get smoked in the markets on occasion.
I don't think there's anyone that doesn't,
but it's about win rate, right?
It's about can I win seven out of every 10 times?
If I can, okay, then the math can work out.
Essentially, I wanna be the casino, not the gambler.
The gambler, you go in there, the odds are against you.
At least the casino is going to win more than they lose,
even though sometimes they do lose, right?
The gambler occasionally wins.
All right, so before we get into silver,
and I wanna get into silver,
I do wanna just mention, guys, that Rumble,
you guys know Rumble sponsors these videos.
They are rock stars, and again, I love them over there.
They have the Rumble Wallet, and the Rumble Wallet,
they're actually giving $10 away for free
just for downloading it.
Verify 10, but yeah, I have it here on my phone.
Literally, you can click,
you can scan this little QR code right here,
or you can click the link in the description,
but the point is, is you can buy and sell crypto,
you can buy and sell gold.
All right, well, I'm in, right?
Plus, they're giving free $10.
Use Verify 10 to just grab that, right?
So essentially, you download it,
and I always look at it like time, right?
So for me, if it takes me 30 seconds to make 10 bucks,
the math, if it took me 20 minutes to make $10,
I'm like, eh, not so great, right?
But 30 seconds for 10 bucks, Verify 10 in,
they'll send you the, I think it comes in USDC
or something like that, right in there, no-brainer.
So anyways, just the point is it's useful
because it allows me to trade crypto and gold
in the same portfolio,
and then it also enables free 10 bucks.
Okay, I'm in.
All right, let's get back to the charts, guys,
but thank you to Rumble.
Next up, guys, let's go to silver here.
What do we have on silver?
Silver, again, this is called
what I call the bouncy ball pattern, okay?
What is the bouncy ball pattern?
The bouncy ball pattern is a big drop with a big bounce.
A smaller drop, because it's closer to the ground,
this is the ground, with a smaller bounce.
Another drop with a tiny bounce.
And what ends up happening here,
and let me just draw this in, right?
So here we have a trend line.
We have the big fall.
If you drop a ball from a high level, it bounces big.
Then it comes back down, hits smaller bounce,
smaller bounce, and then it breaks.
And that's exactly, I mean, look at this.
Big down, up, smaller down, et cetera,
and now we've got the little bounce.
And what this is telling me,
and I know there's a lot of bulls out there on silver,
and listen, I wanna be clear on this, just a reminder,
because people always get so bent out of shape
when I'm near-term bearish.
I'm hugely long-term bullish, right?
So like, how do you, when I,
all I have to do is literally look at
the balance sheet of the US government.
All right, well, social security's going bust,
doesn't have enough money.
Government is at almost 40 trillion in debt.
They're not cutting back on spending.
If anything, they're spending more
because of wars and et cetera.
So obviously, long-term, I wanna be in metals,
and I have long-term holdings in metals,
but where do I buy more?
Do I buy more at 64?
Well, maybe, I mean, you know, it's okay,
but I'm more of a technician,
and I'm gonna look for lower.
So here we have this support level here.
If this breaks, and we almost broke it here,
we never confirmed, but if we break this,
you're headed down to this pivot high right here at 54.
I might nibble a little bit there,
but really, the $50 Pierce and 40 Sid,
I mean, this area here.
Now, a lot of you guys will say,
well, you know, 1980, it was at 50 bucks,
2011, and obviously, there's still been some,
I mean, if you do inflation adjusted,
why would it ever go back to $50?
Great point.
Problem is, markets don't act rationally.
Markets are driven short-term on emotion,
long-term on fundamentals.
Remember that, short-term on emotion,
long-term on fundamentals.
So yes, you're correct when you say that.
So long-term, we should be at $100 on silver,
eventually 150, eventually 200,
but in the near term, fear is fear and greed is greed,
and we just have to remember that.
It just is par for the course.
All right, so that's your silver chart.
I'm just gonna quickly go through Palladium real quick here.
Palladium's coming back in here as well.
I am looking at, this is my next buy price.
We bought it here in Smart Money Commodities and Miners.
I sold it up here for about a 13% gain, awesome.
Then I'm waiting for it to come down
to this next level here.
Again, this is my next viable level,
somewhere right in this,
I would say really right about here,
high pivot, and you can see it kind of got under here.
So it actually could go a little lower,
but right around 1150, I'll start to inch in again.
If you're part of Smart Money Commodities, you'll see that.
Speaking of which, I bought oil the other day
when it was below 75,
and that was a good buy in Smart Money Commodities as well.
And that's a service that I give out
of my exact entries and exits at Verified Investing.
Platinum, platinum, I haven't been able to get an entry yet.
I have all convergence right down here of support.
This is between 1585 and 1500-ish.
So that's what I'm waiting for,
this convergence right down here.
One more good flush on platinum.
And then copper, we look at copper.
I remain bearish on copper.
In fact, I'm short the COPX
with Smart Money Commodities members.
And again, you can see broke support, retraced,
and now it should come down and go even lower on copper.
Now, oil real quick, guys.
We talked about oil just briefly.
Oil's getting a little bit of a bounce today.
Again, makes sense, right?
Because again, all of a sudden,
things aren't so smooth sailing with that.
This is your max downside.
So I only nibbled here at around $74 and change.
We're up already on that trade.
I'm not gonna look for a huge score on this.
I would look for about the 80 to 82 level,
maybe best case, 84.
I don't think it's going back up in this range, honestly.
I don't.
But I do think you're gonna get a bounce
to the low 80s, most likely.
And then if it dumps out again,
there's a gap filled down here on the charts.
All right, listen, you guys are amazing.
Don't forget, guys, Saturday,
I'm gonna be dropping a members-only video on YouTube.
Don't forget to join my channel here on YouTube.
I'll put the link in the description as well.
But basically, it is $9.99 a month.
It's a way to support the channel.
I gotta, you know, just, I wanna keep my quality up.
I always, honestly, if I'm at a point
where I'm trying to do one video a day on YouTube
to just really flush it out, you know,
we'll look at every little nuance.
And really, you get other perks.
I'm gonna be giving discounts in here for services
as well as different things.
The first discount on a service should be coming out
maybe next week, if you're a member.
It's either next week or the week after,
but it'll be a discount, so that'll be awesome,
as well as member-only videos
with more in-depth knowledge and education and analysis.
All right, you guys have a good rest of your day.
Have a great weekend if I don't talk to you until,
well, I'll talk to you this weekend.
Let's be fair, I'll do a video this weekend.
Have a great one, guys.
Take care.
