Hey Spooky! Hey Spooky! Hey everyone, I hope you're having a beautiful day. I wanted to give you an
update on a few of our farm animals. This is Spooky. He's a good boy. That's my good Spooky
boy. That's my good Spooky boy. He gets a little bit jealous with the other pigs. Spooky came to
us from an owner's surrender. He was quite shut down really and I have never cried from
a pig rescue and it was so sad. He was crying and crying and then all of a sudden I started
giving him a bunch of rubs and belly rubs and scratches and his tail started wagging and he
actually knows some tricks. He can sit. I don't have a tomato so I need a tomato. Spooky sit.
That's pretty much a sit. I mean if you ask me that's a huge success.
I am just so in love with him and he is available for adoption. We have had some emails surprisingly
from people upset that Spooky is available for adoption and just so you all know we would only
adopt out our animals to a home where they would be just as happy. Spooky is chewing on Ian's
he's chewing on Ian's shoes so I can't stop laughing. We would only adopt out our animals
to a home where we know for sure they would be just as happy or even happier than they are here
which is hard to find which is why Spooky hasn't been adopted yet but the reason why Spooky one of
the pigs is available for adoption is because he really really loves human interaction. I want him
to be able to get to continue his training and oh my goodness I want him to be
I want him to be able to continue his training and get all the belly rubs all the time. He wants
to be an only pig but he really really likes this guy so he's a happy boy. But yeah man when he first
got here it was so sad. Anyways let's go see the alpacas quick alpaca update. One of the big
differences between alpacas and llamas people often confuse them is the size. Llamas are significantly
bigger and alpacas and llamas are great protectors. They're great livestock guardians and are really
really good at alerting the dogs at alerting the homeowners when there's coyotes when they feel a
threat. They have a very loud scream and they could even do a lot of kicking but as far as
biting not so much. They kind of do a lot of spitting which every now and then they'll spit on
me. I love spending time with the farm animals. I mean I really really love hanging out with the
pigs the cows of course the horses but man I have so much fun hanging out with the alpacas. Come on
go to daddy come to daddy oh yes oh yes this is Salem. Salem used to live in our bathroom
with me and Sarah. He lived in our bathroom until he was old enough to join the herd
and now he's the leader of the herd. He's the youngest one and he's not biting you.
He went like this to smell Ian and he got scared. Once again I'm a child he's not going to bite you
I'm laughing too hard. Anyways the alpacas are doing awesome. This is their field they have a
couple of acres three acres to just be able to eat and graze and run around and play all day
and hanging out with them is one of my favorite things to do here at the sanctuary.
Come on guys leave Ian alone. While we're passing the llamas I wanted to give you a quick update on
Onyx. That right there is Onyx. He is a huge beautiful llama and that was the day I don't know
if you know the story but Onyx's rescue day is the day that I knew I was going to marry
Sarah the love of my life because we were chasing Onyx all over this field and then all of a sudden
he jumped the fence into a neighborhood and without even thinking about it Sarah just
jumps the fence right after him and I was dying laughing and I said that is the woman I'm gonna
marry and then next thing you know long story short after six hours of chasing him and having
the whole neighborhood help us he was cornered behind a house and he ran straight at me and I
jumped on him and we got him we got him into the trailer and back to the sanctuary so now he doesn't
jump any fences he's very happy and very safe and that's the Onyx update. These are our two biggest
pigs here at the sanctuary this is Sal he's over 500 pounds and this is Kitty she's around 450
pounds. Sal came in from California he was we thought he was blind he was very sick and hanging
on by a thread and he's probably my favorite pig here he's my baby I raised him and he wasn't blind
he was just really sick and his eyes were covered in mucus and now he's a big healthy boy. Kitty her
name is Kitty and this is Sal's best friend her name is Kitty because our veterinarian Dr. Thompson
who has a cat rescue was brought in a few piggies a few piglets were brought into her they were not
in good health not in good shape and they all passed away except for Kitty here and she brought
us Kitty to see if we would help take care of her and raise her and of course we did. We have a ton
of goats here at the sanctuary many many owners a lot of owners surrenders when it comes to goats
we have so many goats and people are always asking us to take more and we're literally goat full we
have so many goats probably because we are the goat of all animal sanctuaries and rescues you
know just kidding you got to stay humble but we really have a lot of goats they're just like dogs
they're very funny the difference is between them is the goats pee on their chin and then
and then I pet them and when I come back home I tell Sarah I love you so much oh you're a hand
you've been petting the goats again you smell like goat like goat pee hey everyone I hope you're
having a beautiful day with how hard I work how many hours I spend standing up every single day
taking care of all these animals I'm always looking for ways to improve my morning routine
so that I could have more energy and just feel better throughout the day recently I started
taking colostrum specifically cowboy colostrum and it has helped me in way more ways than I thought
it would instead of just energy I'm just feeling all around better I really love cowboy colostrum
because it is the surplus colostrum that is given after after the calves the baby cows
get all of the colostrum they need it's only the surplus which which is honestly very important to
me for a limited time our listeners get up to 25 off their entire order just head to cowboy
colostrum.com slash asher and use code asher in all caps at checkout okay the next amazing
update that I want to share with you is one that's very dear to my heart and at this point
probably very dear to many of your hearts and this is the update for our memorial brick sidewalk
your memorial brick garden and this wow really beautiful this is going eventually going to lead
all the way to the wolf hybrids and it really shows you progress is just one brick at a time
because the last time we did this update I wouldn't still be walking on this trail you know
it stopped way back there and every day we get a little bit further along and each brick
is a donation and it's a memory of someone's lost loved one and they place a brick here in their
name and it is donated to the sanctuary and their memory of their loved one lives here forever
this includes their dogs there's parrots there's cats even people there's children's names here
and parents and people who very much loved the asher house and in their honor and their memory
they have their name and their brick laid to rest here and their energy will be here and support
this place with positive energy forever so there's a lot of love here and this memorial garden
really means so much to me and over the years it's just gonna keep getting further along and
eventually all the way to the wolves so this is really coming along beautifully and if you want to
donate a brick in honor of someone that you love and someone that is no longer with us whether it
you could do so on the asherhouse.com you'll see donate a brick okay let's go see the cows
last follow-up and last update for today on the farm side certainly not least because sarah's
favorite animal is a cow besides dogs we've had many cows actually live in the house with us
until they were old enough to live outside and be on their own and everything so here are three of
our cows and let's go see if they're willing to come say hi to us okay come on you know i think
people really underestimate how expensive farm animals are and so often people are
surrendering their farm animals because of the expense you know and a lot of times unfortunately
when they don't find right homes for them they don't have as much of a connection with the farm
animals and they go to slaughter so we really try to help out as many as we can but of course you
don't want to have too many because they're very expensive and they need a pretty good amount of
land to be able to graze so that they're getting everything they need to truly thrive most of the
cows that we have are actually cows from other rescues and other sanctuaries that were no longer
able to care for them or actually even ended up shutting down and we were able to help them out
and take them so we try to spend as much time with our cows as possible some of them not all of them
really never had any human interaction so it's kind of like one day at a time just like with
the dogs we build our trust with them but with all of these ones here i'm able to just go up and pet
them now and feed them carrots and some of them in the 30 which i'll show you soon also are really
friendly but some of them were pretty sketchy when i first met them and it really took some time for
me to be able to build that bond more importantly build that trust so all of our cows are doing
great and i'm just so excited to continue to grow every part of this operation from our dog side to
our farm side our cats don't forget we've only been here since august of 2022 and this is everything
we've been able to accomplish in such a short amount of time and we've only been able to do
that because we have this amazing committed team of animal lovers who work as hard as they can
every day to give these animals literally the best life possible and of course we're able to do it
because of you so thank you all so much i love you and we'll do more updates soon
check back and i love you and have a beautiful rest of your day bye
