He has all his vegetables
And juicy
Flavor is perfect
So
Don't you just love spending five minutes to make a matcha and then finishing it in 10 seconds
So fun so fun. All right. Anyways, hi guys
Today's what I eat in a day is all about how I eat to feel really strong and confident in my body
You might be wondering Nina. What does that even mean?
I feel like when people talk about food online
Usually it's either focused on eating a certain way for your internal health or it's eating to look a certain way
But honestly, I think most of us think about both sides
Of course, I care about my gut health my heart health my brain health energy levels all of that
But I also do care about my appearance and i'd be lying if I said I didn't and i've never really talked about
Eating a certain way to look a certain way on my channel before because I think we all know there is this very
Toxic trend lately around trying to be as skinny and small as possible
I don't want to motivate anyone to think that way
But I still think there's a balance of eating in a way that's really healthy for you internally
But then also still making sure you feel really good about your body on the outside
Candidly in the past year i've gone through a lot of lifestyle changes one of which is injury recovery
So my activity has changed a lot. I'm not able to do a lot of the more intense
Exercises and movements I used to do so that was definitely something that really got in my head when I was thinking about my appearance
So honestly as I try to do on most days
I'm going to feel myself in a way that helps me feel good on the inside and the outside
That's lots of fiber variety protein all the colors of the rainbow
Let's make some breakfast because i'm freaking hungry
Get a little bit of everything first bite
How do I do it every time there's so much flavor
I will say I added a little too much soy sauce. So it's a little salty other than that though. I have no notes
This is like my fourth time in the past week making a buckwheat bowl. It's become my most recent addiction
It's one of the best vegetarian protein sources. It contains all nine essential amino acids. So it's a complete plant protein
It's also really good for your heart. It's high in fiber the texture when you mix it with some oats
So good. I also made a sweet buckwheat bowl last night for dinner
I was just really craving a sweet one and that was really good, too. I put jujube
goji berries
Some nuts. Oh, it was fire
I also really enjoy just sitting down and filming these and talking to you guys
Because a lot of times when i'm eating i'm working on something i'm multitasking and just scarf my food down so fast
So i'm trying to be better about just sitting and eating and not doing anything while I eat
Which is why is that so hard if you're watching?
I would love to know what you're eating for breakfast or what you did eat for breakfast or what you're about to eat for breakfast
Anyone can answer the question. I've also been obsessed with swiss chard. Gosh
Sauteed swiss chard is so good and it's so simple and so easy to make I got mine at the farmer's market literally a week
ago, and it was still so fresh today
like
It's time for a little snack. It's midday starting to get a lot hungry
So I just want a little nibble just a little nibble just a little nibble i'm gonna have some smoked trout. I
love
Smoked trout. I literally love eating fish, which is so funny because when I was younger
I used to hate seafood. I hated fish now
My favorite food is sushi and I eat tinned fish all the time almost every single day
So i'm always trying to find ways to incorporate tinned or smoked fish into my diet in new forms with new sauces
So if this is your first time on this channel, just know that I love fish and if you follow along
You'll be seeing a lot of it
So
All right, let's try this a little close-up shot
Yum, well these are the little bones the dill is the best part the dill really seals the dill
You get it do you get it seals the dill seals the dill seals the
God
Anytime i'm eating anything that involves a cracker and something that goes on the cracker
I feel like i'm eating lunchables me and my friends did a little charcuterie situation last week
And we were like this is literally adult lunchables like charcuterie is a hundred percent adult lunchables
I loved every single lunchable, but I think my favorite one by a hair is
The cracker one the cracker with the ham and the cheese. Oh if I get a little oreo on the side
Oh my god, I just knew nothing could ruin my day. I think it goes cracker ham cheese situation nachos pizza
Well, there are even other lunchable options
All right time for some dragon fruit. I love dragon fruit. I love dragon fruit
I love dragon fruit, but tell me why an entire dragon fruit is like six dollars
Insane, this better be good and juicy
Oh, yeah
That was very sweet and juicy. Is that worth six dollars?
Um on a good day, maybe
Did you hear that?
It's thunder. I'm in a particularly good mood right now because it is storming outside and that just always makes me so happy
I just feel so cozy whenever it's raining. I just want a hot cup of tea and a little snack
So that's what i'm gonna do before I get into this snack though
I want to talk about something that's helped me feel a lot more confident that i'm eating
In the right way to support my body both on the inside and outside especially dealing with injury recovery and these general lifestyle changes
I mentioned in the beginning of the video
I've been working with a registered dietitian through a platform called nourish if you've been watching my videos for a while
You know
I'm someone that really cares about nutrition and just everything I eat and put into my body and as much as i've educated myself
I am not an expert. I had a lot of questions around if I was actually eating in the right way for my body
Especially because i'm not really able to strength train right now in the gym
Am I still eating in the right way to maintain my muscle mass and support my body through injury recovery?
What I really like about nourish particularly is how easy they make it to connect you to the right registered dietitian
Based off of your needs and your goals
It took me personally less than five minutes to find someone and to make sure that they were covered by my insurance
And my initial consultation with the dietitian. I already learned so much. We talked about my current diet and my lifestyle
Goals I have my health history all of that and I got a lot of work done after that
Which I really appreciated because it made me feel like I was actually getting real
Personalized advice and one of the biggest things i've been working on with my dietitian
Is making sure i'm eating at better times throughout the day that i'm spacing my meals out properly because I like to eat in bigger
Meals, usually I especially if I get really really busy and I get heads down focused on work
I will go hours without eating like i'll have breakfast and I might go like six seven hours
And then i'll eat lunch
Even though i'm eating really healthy throughout the day
I'm eating everything I need to the way it's spaced out isn't the best and it's not really great for my sleep or my digestion
So even just working with someone to understand how to better listen to my hunger cues and be more proactive
About having smaller snacks throughout the day rather than relying on big meals to fuel me has been a small shift i've made
So that's been huge and it's helped me just build a better relationship between me and my body because when i'm able to actually
Listen to my hunger cues eat when i'm hungry rather than continue to push it off
My body starts to trust me more because it's like okay
She's got me like if I tell her something she will listen to me, you know
She's not going to fight me
so if you've also been in a weird season of life like me
And you're just looking to get some more support on your diet making sure you're eating in the right way to
Support your routine your goals, whatever it is. I really recommend nourish
I'll have them linked in the description so you can start looking you can start there to find a registered dietitian
And check out your insurance coverage as well. All right without further ado. Let's get snacking
Cheers
In fact, I actually forced myself to like olives through exposure therapy
I decided a couple years ago that I was gonna start to like olives
I was just like i'm just gonna start eating them and my body's just gonna like it at one point and it did
Going back really quickly to working with a registered dietitian something else I learned from her which was so interesting to me
Is that your bladder actually will adjust itself based off of how much water you drink because I was like
I know I don't drink enough water
I just don't like drinking that much water because I have to pee so much and she was like
Actually when she started to drink more water and your bladder starts to get used to it
You won't feel like you have to constantly pee anymore because your bladder will adapt
Isn't it so cool fun fact for you dehydrated ladies like me that just hate going to the bathroom. There's hope
So it is time for dinner. It's so awkward
All right, it's time for dinner I have a sous chef with me today sous chef
Would you like to introduce yourself i'm kevin nice to meet you guys kevin likes jazz I like jazz you like jazz
I love jazz. So kevin, this is already making today
A chinese inspired spicy coconut shrimp curry. Let's go
I got my shrimp thawing. Thanks to my sous chef and rice is already in the instant pot
Look at my cute little instant pot. It's pink. Did you know they make pink ones? No
They're mushrooms she talks. Oh and a pepper and a jalapeno
You got the box as in bok choy. He has all his vegetables. I'm a big full name person
Hi, nice to meet you. I am kevin
My favorite color is blue
So
It's time to taste it!
No no no no no no no no no no no no.
Cheers.
Mmm that's fast.
Really good.
Is it good?
It's really good.
Spicy.
I honestly think it could have been even spicier.
I give it a solid 8.1 out of 10.
Out of 9.
Give me some feedback.
Don't be bashful.
This is a safe space here.
I'm always trying to improve my cooking, you know?
Well since you asked.
It actually sucks.
Well how would you rate my sous-chef ability?
You were a great sous-chef.
You were there every time I needed you.
On time.
He was on time.
He brought his A-game, his energy, moral support, his strength.
That pan is freaking heavy.
Thank you.
And I couldn't have done that without him.
Yeah you could.
Don't.
Don't sell yourself.
You're right.
I totally could.
I'm just trying to hype you up here.
Alright.
Shockingly, I am not in the mood for a sweet treat.
I know.
I genuinely felt really satisfied throughout the whole day.
Of course I got hungry and then that's when I would eat, but I never got to a point where
I was ravenous.
And I think just keeping my energy levels up and my hunger pretty well managed is part
of why I just don't really want anything sweet right now.
I've noticed that in general.
Could be eating the same amount of food, but if I just do a better job at spacing out the
food and just like listening to myself when I do get hungry, I'm less likely to get into
a state where I just start craving sugar.
I'm genuinely in a place where I feel really good about how I'm eating for myself inside
and out.
I genuinely do just feel physically really good and really strong.
Your diet is one of the things that you have so much control over and having confidence
in that very, very important aspect of my health is huge because health is wealth and
you especially realize that when you don't have all of your health, when your health
is not feeling like wealth.
So thank you so much for watching.
I hope you enjoyed.
As always, let me know if you enjoy videos like this or if there's any other kind of
content that you'd want to see and I will see you next time.
Bye!
