INTRODUCING Our New GEESE to The GOATS Did NOT Go As PLANNED!

Good morning guys. Welcome to today's video. It's Father's Day. That means that I'm going down to the barn solo. When it's Mother's Day, I always want everybody to come and be with me and help me and do everything with me. When it's Father's Day, Sam just wants the day off. He just wants to do his own thing and be not having to do any work. Different strokes for different folks, that's for sure. It's another cool day. We had like a week, maybe two weeks of like really hot and summery weather and now it's back to spring-like weather but I'm here for it. I like it. I like not being too hot, especially it's going to allow me to get a lot of stuff done on the farm. Alright you guys, I really think Sam should have came down with me because we have not, yesterday you guys saw we got two new geese and Sylvie and I love them. We spent so much time with them yesterday. We brought them outside at night after we put the goats away. Like they're so lovely and every time we've had birds, they've never lasted in these barns, no matter what we've done. And last night we did, yesterday we did a lot to make sure that these birds live forever but still walking into the barn gives me so much anxiety. Sam says that it always takes raccoons a while to figure out that they're here so today should be okay. But let's do it. Let's look. Yep, I see movement. I see movement! Although we have this place put up like Fort Knox. Like you cannot even get in there. Hopefully there's no birds-ness in there. You can't even see in there. I hear them. And the piggies are up too. Oh hi babes! Oh look it, they're like come and let us out. I love you! Alright, it's all blurry, you guys can't see. Sam says it's only like it takes the raccoons a while to figure out that they're here. I just don't get it. Like we have re-homed more than our fair share of raccoons that have been on our property. We re-homed the last two that killed all of our chickens. You're only allowed to take them like a kilometer away from their home though to re-put them away. And we've been doing it since we moved here. And it's not like we're so overrun with raccoons. They're not here all the time. Randomly, one day they just show up, destroy all of our fowl and then they're gone again for like a year. We have all these things on our stalls. Let me show you. All these bars. This thing and it's making it hard for me to feed the pigs because Sam has to take it off. But it's Father's Day so maybe I don't have to try and take it off. I found a screwdriver. I might try and take it off myself. Honest to God, goats are so dumb. So dumb. So this is going in this stall over here. Look at this. How long do you guys think she's been stuck in there? Because there's no way she can get out. It was full of hay yesterday that thing last night. All right, let's see. Come on little princess. Show me you can get out. Come on. Come on. Yeah, just what we thought. Oh, she got out. Come on. Good girl. I don't know why they like to sleep in there. Come on, get out there and eat. Go out and eat. Go out and eat. I let all the babies out first. And then I let the yearlings out. Lola is screaming because she's in heat and she needs to get to the boys. Taffy just wants her babies. But I leave these guys until everybody eats. We're trying to dry them up now. We're trying to dry these three mamas up. These two mamas up. What are you doing biting my finger? This goat who's never had a baby is just chubby, chubby, chubby. And I don't know if she's pregnant or not. I don't think she is because I did not see her get bred. And she appeared to not be interested in the boy. But she just, I don't know, she just keeps getting fatter. Come on out. These are the fat, that's the fat camp. Although she's a nice size, really nice size. And she's, she's a nice size too. The babies don't get a chance when the big goats are up there. They don't get a chance to eat. See, now they're all knocked down. So we put the littles out first or the underdogs out first. Look at that milk bag though. Holy moly. First drink of the morning. How old is that goat? I think she gave birth in March. Yeah, so she's only 12 weeks. But honestly for the first time it feels since we got goats three years ago, four years ago, for the first time it actually feels like we have the goat herd that I always dreamed of, that I always wanted. Wow, she is drinking a lot of milk. Usually they drink for like five seconds and she already drank the whole other side. Holy moly. Look at that utter drain as we, as we watch. Holy heck. She just lets her drink. Usually mamas are weaning at this point. They're starting to wean at this girl. To be fair that baby's only eight weeks old though. But she never, they never get to drink that much. No wonder our babies are so big. There she goes. She's like milk drunk. She's like oh. Oh she's so full. Lola's out there screaming for the boys. So I better do that. Let the piggies out first. Out you go Mr. Man. All that work I did to make his bed so nice for him, for them and they messed it all up. Come on out you go. All right Nico. Get out there to your girl. She's screaming for you. There he goes. I'm coming he says. Yeah he loves Lola. They all love Lola. Don't drink from the pool, from the, from the pig pool. So Sophie and I tried the geese outside last night. We took all the goats in for bedtime. Hi Mr. Hi Winston. I love you. Um so we took all the goats in last night and we let the geese out and all they do, they're like puppies. They follow Sophie everywhere. So when she walked back into the barn they just followed along behind her and walked. They want us to sit with them constantly. So we thought we were going to leave them in their stall for a couple of days so they get used to where they live. But we're definitely going to take them outside today and leave them with the goats. But we're going to sit and play with them. They are so much fun. Geese are so much fun. They have such a bad rap. Same with pigs have a bad rap. Same with turkeys have a bad rap. Like there's so many animals that have a bad rap and are amazing. All right it's a mess and it's not done but it is what it is. Um Sam for Father's Day wants a planter on the porch with some tomatoes in it for himself to take care of. So that's what I'm going to do right now. I'm going to make this little thing. Look I have so many plants. Like too many plants for my space. So there they are. He got two. Last year I grew tomatoes and peppers in this big container here and they did beautifully. And I think I grew something in this too. I can't remember. But anyway I'm going to move them to the porch. It'll be a surprise for him for Father's Day. All right I just gotta water it. Luckily I have this little thing that I can fill with our water containers and use it on the porch. All right so it's a little later and Sophie made me wait to let the geese out. We were going to leave them in for a couple of days but literally we took them outside last night and they loved it. All right let's pick them up. Girl. Oh gosh. They got long necks. Use it. They have long necks. Use it. They actually let us carry them before. Oh my gosh. What is happening? No let's go out to the field. Well they'll follow us. All right. I just don't want to carry them forever. Okay. Can you come get mine? Uh-oh. Oh no. So they're good without the goats. The goats are like Sophie save us. Come on babies. Come on. Don't worry about those dang goats. They follow you. There's like a pile over here of goats and a pile of geese over here. Everybody else is afraid. Somebody just somebody just wiped their face on me. I think it was Cinderella. Ideally we want to be able to let them out every morning. I got to get them a bucket of water though. Like they can go back there to get a bucket of water but I'm going to bring a bucket of water out here for them. They're like wow what is this place? All the grass you can eat Missy. Still my favorite. Are all goats just running to us. Oh the boys are mad. Lola wants to run out here because she thinks that she has to run with the herd to be safe but she wants to be by the boys. We didn't really think this through Sophie. Yesterday we put all the goats away and then we brought the geese out. Oh we didn't realize we didn't think about how the goats are crazy. She wants her mama. Lola's in heat and screaming the whole farm down. She's like come with us buddy. Come with us big boy. I'll introduce you to my daughter. It's your daughter too. They just have to get used to this. At their other house they had dogs. They didn't have any goats. It's just gonna take time. Oh no. Cricket. Oh no. No. Cricket is a fighter. It's okay. Oh gosh we forgot about this. It's gonna be okay. It's gonna be okay. You guys didn't get to see them last night. They're just so friendly now. Like they stopped hissing at us yesterday. They stopped being scared of us. Now they're scared of the goats. I can't believe Cricket has it in her. Maybe she'll lose some weight. Yeah maybe she'll lose some weight. She's fighting the goat. The geese. I can't believe it. There they go. The goats are all leaving because all it takes is one goat to leave. One goat starts running and then like the herd that they are they all just take off. It's like if they're staying out here I'm not staying out here. I think they're gonna make a run for it. I was outside just letting the goats climb on me and this little toffee's little baby is always on my lap and she watches and sees where her baby is. She knows her baby likes to be on my lap so she just waits but she'll come to stand beside me and just wait and then when her baby gets down she calls her baby to her. All right well things have settled other than Lola who's stuck over there because she can't leave a boy. Yeah he looks nice. So Lola is mental when she's in heat. Yeah we never have to worry about guessing if she's in heat unlike Cricket who I can never tell if she's in heat which is why I can't get her bred. I have a plan though this season. I'm gonna do something different. She goes into like super heat. She's like and that's why I think that she has so many babies. She had like three babies, four babies. Who knows what she's gonna have this year. You know what that's good. Yeah I mean I don't want to pass the super heat to her babies. Yeah but I don't and her baby actually had three triplets on her first on her first as a first freshener she had triplets. I think she's gonna have four babies this year. Oh my gosh could you imagine if we had four babies and then Lola had five babies. Don't bite me. These are the two that fight for my attention the most. Her, her and her and the little boy too. I love this little um shelter here. It's nice and shady. Actually there's bugs in here. Whoa there she comes or there she goes. See they're really friendly without the goats. They've gotten really friendly like Sophie's petting them. They just have to get used to the being in the farmyard. Get used to the pig. When we first got them he would, Posy just drops onto her side like a tree. But when we first got them he would vibrate. His neck would vibrate. He'd be like vibrating to be because he was scared and he didn't want Sophie near him. Now he doesn't do that at all. He just, they just let her, they just, they like us. So we're hoping that we can leave some water out here and that they'll find it. I might put it in this little shelter for them and then they will stay out here and eat grass all day. But I have a feeling when we leave they'll leave. I missed the funniest thing ever. Oh my gosh a car went by and where the geese used to live there were no cars. They were back far far from the road. So a car went by and the boy screamed honk but a really crazy honk. Because he was scared and all the goats freaked out and it came running to look at the geese. Oh there's Posy over there. Oh my gosh. It's like once he screams they all go bonkers. I think it's oh my gosh it's so funny. They love Sophie though. Like absolutely love her. The little girl Rosie she she keeps just getting closer and closer to Sophie until she's touching Sophie and then expects Sophie to pet her. But even the little boy is really sweet. He's a little more nervous but so lovely. Are they eating the grass yet? The goats are over it now. The goats are like okay well when they make that crazy sound nothing bad happens. So they didn't run this time. All right it's Father's Day and we got dad a present. Oh I can't catch. Oh another box. Oh lights. 200 feet. I know where this is gonna end up. In my barn. Thanks for the lights. That's a lot of lights. That should be enough. Show them. Wow that's a lot of lights. So these are party lights for our party barn. Hang them up in the go in our party barn.
