Video Summary
AI GeneratedA vlog documenting the first-ever \"Moo Retreat,\" a hiking and yoga experience for women in Olden, Norway. The video follows the preparation, the activities shared with a global group of women, and the emotional reflection of the organizers on creating a space for slowing down and connecting with nature.
Everybody loves somebody, somebody.
Let's go for this again. Thanks for the awesome.
Okay, so now we're in Olden and this is a vlog takeover.
I'm taking over the vlog as Helene is doing this retreat and she's a little bit stressed and nervous.
So this is going to be kind of special.
All women retreats?
All women retreats.
From a boy's perspective, a man's perspective.
We're going to go and do a hike because we're going to check because we're going to do the hike with the group.
We just need to double check the trail and make sure that the hike is good and safe.
Imagine coming to a retreat and it looks like this.
Do you get very like shocked when you're seeing this?
But at the same time you have to worry about rocks coming down from the mountain.
And cars.
And cars coming down from the mountain.
A friend.
Are we allowed to pass your farm?
Good day, sir. Are we allowed?
Are we allowed?
Let me see.
Hey.
You know what they say?
There's no bad weather.
Only...
Oh, bad clothing.
Bad cladder.
Cladder? No.
Isn't that the thing?
Cladder?
It has to rhyme.
If not, it's not a saying.
But okay, we did one hike in the fjord.
And then we didn't really like the trail.
And it's not like...
It's more like a workout trail instead of like a group of 20 people hiking together.
So we did half of it.
Went down.
Joe here.
And now we're doing another hike that we're checking out for the group.
So this one is much nicer.
Look at this.
This is only at 200 meters.
And the water is so blue.
And now it's raining, but we don't mind because we brought a rain jacket.
Brought a cluttering.
Cluttering.
And we have vanilla buns waiting for us.
You look like a kid.
We have vanilla buns.
The owner at the hotel we're staying, they came this morning with sourdough bread and vanilla buns.
And I'm so, so excited to come back and eat.
Lovely day.
No people.
No tourists.
Only us.
The nature.
And peace.
Look at this stick that I found.
Helene.
It's like a walking rotating.
It is just a few hours until the retreat starts.
And I feel so nervous, but I'm trying to stay calm.
I'm going to go now to the grocery store to buy some things because I'm going to make some cookies.
The baker at Singelheimen, the hotel we're staying at, are baking vanilla buns.
But we have a few vegans, so I'm going to make some vegan cookies.
So we have something for everyone.
And then today we're going to have a garden taco dinner.
You're roasting the spice?
Yeah.
That's the trail mix?
Yeah.
Oh my god.
I thought it was some crumble thing.
Wow.
Get your friends.
Girls are crazy.
Boys are clean coconut.
And the government took us.
So little hope has ever helped anyone.
And the world doesn't have any money on us.
I get jealous, and the world doesn't.
But the world is full of eyes.
Everyone tries to escape, but there is no logic.
It's all just actors, and no one remembers the lines.
And we can kiss more.
Whatever, just not you.
We are the only real ones.
Me and you, just that we are not for us.
It's the only thing the numbers stop with.
And let's not go out and look for stars.
But the whole world's room is full.
Hello.
Where are we right now?
We're in Olden.
Okay.
But mentally we're in the World Cup.
No, no, no, no.
It's Andreas and all the girls.
Nice.
A bunch.
Two boys.
And one more boy.
Two dudes here.
I just saw you guys walking.
Can we follow you guys?
I'm just creeping around.
Okay, so I bought lottery tickets for everyone.
So I can become a Norwegian millionaire.
Perfect.
Floki is having the day of his life.
He's so happy.
Hi.
We are halfway, and for the first time since the guests arrived
we have a two-hour break.
And Andreas drove me to the city to get Pepsi Max,
mozzarella sticks, watermelon gums.
If you found one.
If I found some.
I retreated because maybe he wanted to try.
So I got them some.
Maybe they don't want to try, but still.
We got us tomatoes.
We have a break from hiking today.
We went to a really, really cool, sick yoga shala up in the valley.
And then we went sauna afterwards.
And then we had a break.
Before we're going back up to Olden Valley.
At this really, really cool cave.
Where we're going to eat kebab.
Vegetarian kebab.
Made of seitan.
Homemade seitan.
But it's a slow day.
But our guests are really nice.
So we're having a good time.
14 new friends.
That are coming to visit us in Lofoten, we hope.
At the same time, Floki got lots of new friends.
Sheep, cows, horses, dogs.
Yesterday we were outside the whole day.
He smiles a lot.
Yeah, he's smiling a lot.
See you guys in the next one.
This is not the don.
This is not the don?
This is not the don of the video.
This is not the don.
So Andreas will report back from the cave.
What is this?
This is red lime soup and toasted almond dip.
Kind of a bit like mahamara.
We're sensitive about that, aren't we?
No, and this is...
She lives here and this is her kitchen.
I am the cave woman.
No, but we found this is funny.
I think I actually vlogged that.
That we went to your food truck in Lofoten last summer.
Oh yeah.
Last July.
And then we randomly went to this food truck.
Tried Rebecca's food.
Did not know who she was.
And then we tried it.
And then it was so good.
So colorful.
And she really cares about local ingredients.
Like it's organic.
And it's vegan.
So when we thought about the check for this retreat.
That was the first option.
And she said yes.
And we're really, really blessed to be here.
So we're so happy to have her.
This wild woman, she deserves to be in a cave.
Look at the Argentina master chef.
This is not an asado.
Wow, that looks amazing.
Oh no, it's gonna...
Oh no.
Oh, the Norwegian national treasure.
Yeah, what do you think?
It's so good.
Be honest, that's the best thing.
What's the color?
It's a really moody, rainy day today.
Clouds are low.
A lot of fog in the mountains.
We are supposed to go on this hike.
But we have to see if it clears out.
Because it's not safe to walk in all of these clouds.
It looks like it's gonna be a bit better.
We just had yoga.
And now we're gonna go for breakfast.
I can feel my body is so sore from yoga.
Because we've been opening so much this week.
But it feels really good.
Together with the hikes.
I actually don't mind the rain.
It feels good.
Are you mad at me?
No, we love you.
Sorry.
Hi.
Someone is tired?
No, no.
They are in my snack corner.
Don't look at the mess.
We've been...
This little guy.
You can see where we hiked from here.
You should have joined.
You wanna see?
Super, super nice.
Super scenic.
Usually a really popular hike.
But not many people there.
We should have been with them.
And not been sleeping here.
Norwegian strawberries are in store.
$10 for one pack of strawberries.
Cheap.
Small box.
Crazy.
But yummy.
It's what?
Yummy.
Medjool dates.
With butter and chocolate and salt in the middle.
Holistic.
We're on the hike.
We had burrito made by Rebecca.
With taco leftovers.
She's feeding us so well.
I'm so excited.
Now free time.
Two hours.
Everyone has free time.
That's why I'm here.
Resting.
Nice sticker.
Narcissist.
Good night.
See you later.
Go team!
It's a video.
That was such an incredible week.
I was supposed to place myself somewhere pretty.
In nature.
Or somewhere.
But I am just so tired.
That I'm just laying here.
On the couch.
Soaking it all in.
Reflecting.
And just.
That was crazy.
I guess from what you've seen.
It may just look like a fun week in Norway.
With some girls in the mountains.
Hiking and doing fun stuff.
But I did not expect it to mean so much.
And have such big impact on me.
Meeting all these girls from all over the world.
Coming to Norway.
Most of them for the first time.
One girl came from Argentina.
One from Singapore.
Two from the US.
And then all over Europe.
And it was just so special.
Being all together.
Doing things we like.
That we have in common.
And also what affected me the most.
Was hearing all the girls different stories.
And why they decided to book.
And how the whole group changed.
Within just five days.
And how much we opened up to each other.
Told each other our stories.
And where we are in life right now.
And what kind of choices and decisions we are making.
In this season of our lives.
So I'm so touched.
And it was so difficult saying goodbye to the group.
Because when you spend five days straight with someone.
You really get to know each other.
And doing all the things we did.
With yoga, meditation and the hiking.
And all the cozy group meals we had at Singerheimen.
Made it so special.
And sorry for this angle.
I just need to rest.
I just feel like I needed to end this in a better way.
I struggle to find the words.
If this does not make sense to you.
I started Moo Retreats this year.
With two of my friends Jenny and Kasper.
And this was the first retreat that we ever had.
So it was a hiking and yoga retreat.
In the Western Fjords in Norway.
And we had Rebecca as our chef.
And we had Maria as our yoga teacher.
And we did everything ourselves.
And it was really really fun.
But it was definitely more work.
Than we thought and planned on.
So Andreas was really nice and helped out.
And the girls at Singerheimen also helped out a lot.
So we became a good team.
And we're doing this all again in Lofoten in August.
I think next year we're going to try to have more.
And then we will give you more time to book.
Because now we only launched it like two months ahead.
So I know it's short notice.
But that was just because it was new.
And we just really wanted to get a couple of retreats this year.
Before we got too late.
So yeah it's a trial summer for this project.
For so many years I've been a digital travel guide.
For so many people on the internet.
On Instagram and making guides and stuff.
But bringing you along with me.
On the most beautiful places.
The places I love so deeply.
And on such nice hikes.
And just be outdoors.
Leave our phones.
Because we spend so much time on screens and our phones.
And we have so many distractions every day.
So I just want this project to be a way of slowing down.
And getting more in touch and tune yourself.
Back to the roots.
Walking barefoot outside.
Moving in a comfortable way.
Challenge yourselves.
Eating whole foods.
Local ingredients.
Yeah it is truly a project close to my heart.
And I'm so excited to see how this can grow.
In a good and fun way.
And hopefully that we can host so so many retreats.
And give this experience to as many people as possible.
Because it was truly special.
It was a really beautiful week.
And it's been a dream of mine to do something like this for so long.
And now it's finally here.
The time is here and the timing feels so right.
And the team that I'm doing it with feels so right.
It's a good way of tired you know.
You know you can have positive stress.
And you can also have negative stress.
But this is a positive stress.
Thank you for being here.
Maybe I'll see you one day at my retreats.
That would be fun.
And if not I'll see you here on YouTube in another vlog.
And I hope you have a really beautiful summer.
Soaking in the sun.
Go outdoors.
Be barefoot.
Smile.
See you soon.
