The instructor demonstrates how to utilize scrap greenery and leftover floral bushes to build a visually balanced design, emphasizing the use of a triangular composition and the repurposing of materials.
Hello everybody! Welcome! Today we are going to be making a small little floral arrangement.
I have been obsessed with making these little arrangements lately. One we're moving and most
of my wreath supplies are packed up, but I do have some of these little wooden dough bowls
left that I haven't packed yet, and the small arrangements are just really good fillers. They're
going to make another floral arrangement today, and again I'm using an 8-inch wooden dough bowl.
I am so in love with these little dough bowls that I am super excited to announce that we're
going to be selling them in our shop very soon. Hopefully within the next week or so,
we're going to have some of these dough bowls available. So I have just taken and added some
scrap foam. I've mossed it, and I just stuck this little twiggy branch in here. I thought that can
kind of be our starting point for our little arrangement. Okay, so the first thing we're going
to do is we're going to add, actually no, let's do a little bit of greenery work before we add our
florals. So I want to put a little greenery piece right in the center by our little stick,
our little twig, and let's just intertwine these. Now this arrangement is just going to be using
scrap greenery that I have in my pocket, so save those pieces because they will get used.
So now I'm going to go sort of to the right and give it a little bit of a bend,
and what goes on the right, we'll do on the left. Again, there's no really, you know, there's no
real rule. You're the artist of your design. You create it how you like. However,
it is kind of recommended in order for it to be more visually appealing
to, you know, what goes on the right goes on the left. What goes up goes down,
and I'm just going to go down right here in the front. Okay, so I just put a little
load this down just a little bit. Okay, so we've got enough greenery to get us started.
Let's add some of our florals. I have these pretty little bushes,
so these are some I have left in the shop, and I wanted to use them up so I didn't have to pack
them because I only have four left. So let's work on creating a design. I didn't pick these,
but I might need to pick them. Okay, so that one just kind of naturally is bending that way,
so we're just going to leave it, and just a tip. If you don't want this outer coating because it's
so thick, you can just cut the plastic. I'll show you. You can cut the plastic off. It takes a
minute to do, but then you have a little, you just have a little stem in there that you can work with.
Okay, so I think I'm going to go, I did right, let's go left. I'm going to keep that one low.
Okay, now let's take another one.
See, that one actually just pulled off, so it made it easy. I'm going to go
close to the stem, oops, close to,
there we go, right back there, so almost the, just about the same height, just a little cluster of
them, and I'm going to go in the center, close to our little stem there, our little twiggy.
Okay, so we have a little cluster of those pretty flowers. Let's go in and break it up with a little
bit of white. I'm just going to have to kind of stick it down in the foam. It's got a thick stem,
but I don't want to try to get that plastic off, so we're just going to pop it up like that. It's
going to be our taller piece. I'm just kind of splitting these two and popping it right in there.
Okay, so we've brought in a little bit of the white fold. Now let's go in with some of these
big three. See if I can get in there without using a pick. Okay, so similar color to these, but just
a little bit different. I have three of these. Let's break up these two over here a little bit.
Okay, see? Just pop them in there. Now I want to keep with our triangle, so I think I'm going to
take this one and make it glow, but with this one, but we've kept our sort of our triangle.
Let's add this little bud in here. I think I want to put it kind of right up,
kind of right up beside our little white
peony. I think that's a peony. All right, now let's start filling it in with some greenery
and some berries. These are so easy. I love making these little arrangements,
so I'm going to go in with this little piece. I'm going to kind of go right in
here with that piece right in there, the bud in. Let's go in with another little leafy piece,
and I like how it has that little bend right there. We're going to keep that,
and we're going to blend those in there,
and just put it right in there. I feel like we need to have something coming from the bottom
underneath this flower since we have it really low. Now, these were the stems from those flowers.
I cut them off, so we're just going to use them. We're just going to tuck them underneath,
and I'll show you here in just a second. Because I had to cut the stem low, I was not able to keep
the leaves, so I just saved the leaves, put them on this, and now we have them right down there
under our flower. Let's add, we have a couple more, three more leaves. I'm going to add one
more, and now we're going to start working on filling in some of these. You can see some of
the holes that we have in here. I'm going to take some of my longer pieces of greenery because I
need some height. I'm going to go right in here next to our little white flower, and again, I put
these on picks. If you don't have a pick machine, you can use the wooden picks, the wooden floral
picks. I'm just going to give that one a little bit of a bend. Okay, let's go. I'm going to add
some greenery kind of low underneath our flower. I just added that piece kind of low. I'm going to
start kind of filling in a little bit low. Go in with, break up some of that and add a little bit
of yellow. Okay, so I'm popping a little bit of yellow in here, and they're short little pieces,
so I'm going to go closer to the bottom. Okay, now let's add, I think I want to add some little
berries. Give it a little bit of wispiness. This is completely optional. You could stop if you don't
like the, you don't like the berries in here. I think just a pop of these little wispy berries
just going to give it that little extra, a little extra that we want.
See if I have any more of those little grassy bits.
Just like you. I'm going to pull it off of this because I don't want the whole bush. I just want
the little, I think I want to add some over here. I hope you guys enjoy, and if you haven't subscribed,
