The video demonstrates the markers' performance through sketchbook doodles of garden plants and a creative project painting a ceramic plant pot.
The lovely people at Ohuhu sent me more markers to try, so today I'm gonna be trying these Kahuhu
120 colour brush markers, acrylic markers. So yeah, you get this massive package. Ta-da! Wow,
there's so many of them. I'm so excited to try these because the colours look really, really
good. Here are the swatches. So fun! And here is the rest of them. You get so many markers in this
set, it's actually kind of ridiculous. 120 markers is a lot. They also sent me this Nalu colouring
set. It's such a cute little pouch and you get 12 little markers. They are alcohol markers,
but they're so cute and sweet, tiny. You get these little pockets. I'm guessing you can put,
I don't know, like a card or a business card or something in there. And then you also get this
little colouring book, which also has just blank pages at the end as well.
Oh, look at this. So sweet. So let's try these markers out. Okay, so here I'm gonna be going
ahead with the swatches and these markers feature the highest opacity on direct ink acrylic markers
with the Ohuhu advanced ink formula. And supposedly these are the highest quality
and the most resilient out of possibly the Ohuhu marker range. And basically, yeah,
they feature a brush nib like previous sets as well. This direct ink system ensures consistent
ink flow and stays vibrant from start to finish. I mean, what more would you want? And also,
I'll be working with these markers on something interesting, as you've probably seen in the title.
But yeah, I wanted to test these out because these are supposedly the highest quality for
materials like ceramic. I also decided to do some swatches for these alcohol markers and they're so
nice and smooth. So I'm so excited to try these out, especially with the colouring books. I feel
like I don't really do anything like that. But I feel like it could be really nice to just chill
or just take on the go, especially like if you travel and things like that. And you like,
recently, I haven't really been that motivated. So maybe this could be something I can just keep
in my pocket and take on the go. So today I'm going to be doing something that I've done before.
So I'm going to be drawing something from my garden. And right now I'm going to use this
reference. It is a fox glove that I got a couple weeks ago. So I'm just going to doodle it in my
sketchbook and see how it looks. So to talk more about these acrylic markers, which are definitely
the star of the show. This is the 120 set, which is a lot of pens. I didn't actually like, when you
look at the case, you don't expect there to be so many, but they do also come in 72 colours and 48
as well. So you can definitely find these if you are looking for some in Amazon or the Ohuhu page.
So these markers also are claimed to be waterproof, sun resistant and quick drying. I do believe that
they're very quick drying because most acrylic markers are. I've never really had an issue with
acrylic markers drying slowly. I feel like it would be nice if they dried a little bit slower,
because I feel like acrylic markers really do dry very fast, but it's not really an issue for me.
The way that I use my acrylic markers, they, you know, I kind of do it really fast paced,
very scribbly, not very like, you know, thought out or anything like that. So it's never an issue
for me. But I'll keep you guys updated on the sun resistance as well as waterproofness.
I didn't do the test here because I couldn't really do it. But maybe in the future I'll update
you on how my plant pot is doing. And maybe also in another video, I'll show you me repotting a
pothos into it. So these were kind of more like just easy doodles that I wanted to do from my
feel like diving into the plant pot is was really stressful. I didn't know what to do. So I just
wanted to get the feel of these markers before I do anything like any actual thing with them. So
I just doodled a couple pictures from my own garden that I've taken. And like I mentioned,
the first one was the fox gloves. And then this one is actually a potato flower, which is really
interesting because they're so delicate and like nice and the purple tones are just so beautiful.
So I had to take the opportunity to draw a potato flower. I don't think I've ever drawn
a potato flower before. So this was a nice first. But the overall feeling of the markers is really
nice. I mean, it's kind of hard to judge like acrylic markers on your first use on your first
go. I feel like the real answers come like after months of use where you can actually judge
the nib flexibility and things like that. So yeah, I'll keep you guys updated.
Okay, so I also wanted to try painting the pot. I haven't really used acrylic markers on anything
other than paper pretty much. There's like other things that I've definitely done. I can't remember
now at the top of my head, but there's definitely something that I've used acrylic markers for
that wasn't paper. But I wanted to try painting something on the pot. I actually got inspired by
Chantelle. I'll leave her channel here. And basically she painted a plant pot. And because
everything that I do pretty much lately has been all about my garden, I thought what better
opportunity than to do something gardening. So I'm gonna prime this pot with some acrylic
gouache just to seal it so that I can draw some stuff over the top. So I'll come back when that's
done. Okay, so I've very roughly painted the plant pot with acrylic gouache. And I think it looks
pretty good, even though it's super, super, super rough. But I didn't want to spend so much time
painting and also I didn't want to use up all of my gouache because I don't have a lot left of my
acrylic gouache. So I am going to leave it at this. And I actually want to paint on like, you know,
like a checkered design, like a sideways checkered design with a color that I don't know yet.
But like a singular color. I was thinking red, but I kind of don't want to do red because I think it
might be too much. But I'm thinking maybe something like this where it stands out a little bit. So I
think that Y04. So funnily enough, that clip of me saying the color is actually cut short, because
in that moment, as I was saying the color name, I dropped a glass on the floor because the case
slipped on the table and just pushed the glass off the edge. And it smashed. So I sat there for a
minute and I was just thinking, contemplating what just happened. So yeah, sorry about that.
But anyway, back to the plant part. As you saw, I first layered some acrylic gouache and then I went
ahead and started painting with these markers. And this was the, I think, the first time I've
done something like this. So it was actually really fun. And it was, it's actually really
convenient to use acrylic markers for projects like this because you don't have to mess around
with like a watering thing and then taking it outside like I did. I wanted to do it outside
because I can directly copy the references. And I feel like this whole video is kind of garden
themed. And yeah, I just, it was so much fun. And now I forever hold memories from my garden and
this year, maybe I'll put a date on the bottom so that I remember when I painted it. But yeah,
I'll let you know how resistant and whatever it is in the future if I remember to. But for now,
the markers layered beautifully and it was a whole load of fun. They did kind of up peel a little bit
of the acrylic gouache, but I didn't really expect much because I didn't let it dry long enough. I
just went straight for it as soon as it dried. So yeah, but other than that, the markers layer
nicely. The initial checkered color that I did, I did apply a second coat. But other than that,
it didn't really need much like overlaying or layering, nothing like that. They looked really,
really good and vibrant. And I'm actually really surprised at how vibrant these markers are.
However, they do like dark colors. I must say this. I feel like they, like most marker sets,
I don't know what it is. It might be really difficult to make the pigment just stand out.
I feel like they just like the dark colors. This set kind of, yeah, just wasn't very dark. So
I mean, it can be a benefit and a negative at the same time, I suppose, depending on what you need.
And then to wind down for the evening, after doing some painting outdoors, I decided to do
some doodles of the alcohol markers and try out the paper and see what it's like. And it was so
nice and mindless. And I never realized how much I missed doing just random coloring, where I'm not
really thinking beyond the lines, I'm just filling in the picture. And there's no other thought or
anything brewing through my head. So yeah, this was really fun. I just kept picking up the colors.
I weren't really thinking about the color scheme or anything like that. And it was wonderful. I
also did a little bit of like shading or like blending with different colors to see what happens.
And yeah, they operate just like regular alcohol markers. And the bleed through was very minimal.
And it didn't transfer on to the next page either. So technically, you don't even need the
blending, like silicone sheets between. But with that being said, thank you so much for watching.
Thank you so much for sending me these to try. And I hope to see you in the next video. Please
don't forget to like and subscribe as always. I'd really, really appreciate it. And yeah,
I'll see you in the next one. Bye.
