[Review] Escaping the Deep Cave and Meeting the Jungle Girl - Part 8

Wading through the cold water of the narrow gorge, her hands tightly grip the stone spear. All around the vertical walls, hairless, pale figures cling motionlessly to the rock. Dozens of bodies hang upside down from the high crevice. As she spins around, the swarm simultaneously drops from the cliffs, plunging heavily into the water. Forced underwater, she kicks her legs forcefully to propel forward. Dozens of pale limbs are thrashing through the dark water, tracking right at her heels. Bursting through the surface, the narrow dark walls are gone, replaced by a wide, sunlit lake. She drags her heavy steps onto the shore. Sitting down on the rocky bank, her chest heaving with deep, rapid breaths. Leaving the water behind, she navigates through the foggy jungle. Her wet clothes cling tight to her skin as she uses the stone spear to push through the dense foliage. A massive cliff edge reveals a deep valley, where a thick column of smoke rises straight up from the dense forest canopy. She breaks into a sudden sprint. Her boots pound heavily against the muddy ground. The tiger cub bounding close behind as they tear through the dark trees. A small fire is lit on the damp earth. The cub sits closely by the crackling flames, shaking off the cold. Her grip tightens on the spear. She leans forward, her pupils dilating as her eyes lock onto a movement behind the trees. Stepping out from behind the trunk is a feral girl, her body completely wrapped in green leaves. The hand reaches out. The leaf girl suddenly darts into the dense bushes. Gripping the spear tightly, she sprints immediately after her. Her black boots skid to a halt. Her eyes scan the thick, wet jungle, but the green figure has completely vanished. Squatting by the new flames, she rubs her hands over the fire to catch the heat. The heavy rain has stopped. From behind a dark trunk, the leaf girl emerges once more. Her hand reaches out, holding a bright red fruit. The leaf girl turns her back and walks deeper into the woods. The girl with the spear immediately steps forward, following her trail. Stopping at the base of a massive ancient tree, the leaf girl scales the vertical bark, using only her bare hands and feet. Standing on a high branch, she plucks round red fruits and drops them to the ground below. Grabbing a hanging vine, her body swings through the air, clinging back onto the massive trunk. The colossal bark pierces through the fog, towering high above the entire jungle canopy. Climbing higher, she pulls herself over the edge of a colossal nest, woven from thick branches. Deep inside, she wraps her arms completely around a giant white egg. Bound by thick vines, the enormous shell is slowly lowered. On the ground, the girl raises both arms, catching its heavy weight. Balancing on the edge of the void, the raw force of the high wind fiercely whips against her skin. The endless jungle stretches out right beneath her bare toes. Without warning, she leans back into a free fall. Her body plummets, bare skin sliding fiercely against the rough, vertical bark. Climbing deep into the twisting branches, her fingers lock onto a bizarre black figure hanging tightly from a thick vine. Gripping a long vine, she launches her body through the damp air. Dropping straight down to the forest floor, she lands heavily on her hands and feet, crushing the dry leaves beneath her. Dragging the colossal white egg through the thick underbrush, her arms tremble under the sheer weight. She drops it heavily onto the dirt, right beside the roaring campfire. Sitting by the flames, the leaf girl cracks open the bizarre black fruit. Its top perfectly resembles a dancing figure, rooted tightly in a base of corn-like kernels. She hands half of the strange fruit over. Biting into the pale flesh, the rigid tension in the girl's jaw slowly loosens with every chew. Breaking off a small piece, she feeds it to the cub. As its rough tongue licks her fingers, a wide smile finally breaks across her face. Tilting the heavy red gourd, a stream of cold water cascades over her face, washing away the thick grime of the dark jungle. The leaf girl steps onto the mossy rock edge. She cups her hands over her mouth. Her cheeks puff out, releasing a sharp whistle. Giant black bats burst through the fog. Their wide wings beat the air heavily as they descend toward the cliff. The massive beasts lie flat on the wet dirt. Sunlight hits their dark fur. She leaps onto a bat's back. Her bare feet plant firmly against its thick muscle. The tiger cub bounds through the wet mud. It leaps onto the giant bat. Muddy water splashes across the dark fur. The giant bat rests on the ground. She raises one arm high into the air. The massive bat fully extends its wings. It launches forward, diving into the deep forest. A bat flies past a giant hanging nest. A swarm of black insects erupts, chasing closely behind. Heavy rain begins to pound the wings. Piercing through the storm, the bat emerges above a sea of white clouds, gliding straight ahead. The bat flies past a massive tree. Giant red crabs hang tightly from the branches. Strong wind whips the leaf girl's hair back. The corners of her mouth curl up, her teeth exposed. The girl in the white shirt glides past the crabs. Her hands maintain a tight grip on the spear. The cub leaps from the flying bat. Its claws dig deep into a hanging red crab. The cub slides down the thick vine. It hangs perfectly upside down, its paws clutching the hard red shell. Its grip releases. The cub plummets, landing on all fours in the underbrush. The crab rests directly in front of it. It steps forward. Its pink tongue continuously licks the red surface. A giant bat glides above the clouds, then dives straight down toward the deep canopy. It spreads its massive wings flat against the mossy roots. Heavy rain falls. The tiger cub steps forward and climbs onto the dark back. The beast pushes itself upward. It stands perfectly still under the pouring rain. It takes off through the dark trees. The cub clutches the black fur. The leaf girl rides her bat above the clouds. Sunlight hits her face. She stands upright on the moving back. A vast green valley stretches out below. Gliding directly toward a massive waterfall, she extends one arm toward the splashing water. The giant bat glides directly toward the massive waterfall. She stands upright on its back, extending her arm. Her open palm pushes straight through the falling white water. The giant bat wades through the surface water. The girl in the white shirt leans down, plunging her bare hand into the river. She pulls up a struggling silverfish. Her jaw opens wide, teeth fully exposed. Leaving the waterfall behind, the giant bat carries the girl straight up into the sky. The leaf girl rides her bat, gliding over the forest. And right before her now is a flat grassland.
