Constructed within two hackberries and a water oak, the structure features a distinctive \"nest\" theme to honor the client's family mascot, the egret. The home blends luxury and functionality, offering multiple levels of living space designed to harmonize with the surrounding lakeside environment.
Hi, Pete Nelson here with Treehouse Masters. Friday nights, Animal Planet. You won't believe
the new treehouse that we have created here. We're in Arkansas. We're on Horseshoe Lake.
Fabulous place. There's fish all over the place. Pelicans fly around, egrets, osprey. I mean,
it's a beautiful place. And cypress trees. Well, we didn't build in cypress trees. We built in
two hackberries and a water oak. And here she is. You see the nest? The client wanted to have
as kind of a symbol. They have a mascot, an egret for the family mascot. So we built this
human-sized nest. It kind of looks like a tornado when you think about it. And we are in Tornado
Alley. Anyway, what a beautiful place. Look at that. Wait until you go up inside it. It's really
cool. Okay, well, let's go up the stairs anyway. Welcome to paradise. This is the hangout. This is
cypress wood milled right locally. In we go. This is another hackberry tree. This is the centerpiece
tree. This and this all come down into a little fork. And here, Roderick Romero's nest. This
worked so hard on this little nest part inside. It's a screen porch. See? Screen.
So there's some bugs around here, as there are many places. So this is the little screen
porch hangout. Out here, obviously not a screen porch, but if you need to take refuge,
you've got it right there. Okay, I got to take you inside. Look at this. Here we are. Wow.
This that I will sit on is a hide-a-bed. They make these very nicely these days, by the way.
No more of those torture racks. You know that thing that hits you right here? This is the real
deal. It's a very comfortable bed that will sleep two. Well, if there's a bunch of kids,
you could probably put six kids on this. You never know. Very, very comfortable. Lots of windows.
Now, let's keep moving, because there's a lot to see. Oh, a bathroom. Full-on bathroom. Plenty of
space. And, you know, I just can't get over Tori. She does it all. It's amazing. Okay,
we're going to go upstairs, because upstairs was the original bedroom. Okay, so follow me. We've
got this cute little place up here. Look at this cute little bedroom. I mean, queen-size bed,
more windows for cross ventilation, but the piece I love the most. This is called a belvedere. You
step out here, and you're covered, you know, by this little eyebrow roof. In case it's raining,
you can just hang back here. Look out over your beautiful lake. The place I want to show you next
is really, I think, the focal point of the whole treehouse. Let's go see it. Okay, so here we are.
This is the pièce de résistance. It's probably the only human nest that I know of anyway. I mean,
it is. This is this lovely place. Come on out. It's screened in. Tori just hit it out of the
park again with her little accoutrements. It's very comfortable, really comfortable.
Thank you for joining me on this Behind the Build series. It's awfully fun to do these,
show off what we build, and it really is what it looks like. A lot of fun. Thanks for coming by.
