♥ ECREW What is Ecrew? When I had to uproot and move to Indiana, there was a car community called Bcrew (B for Bloomington, Indiana). These guys became my family. Instead of partying on the weekends, I was working on cars- and I loved it. Since starting youtube, I have started what I call Ecrew. It's a community where you get to take 10min out of your day and be involved in a build, but more importantly it's a family.
The narrator restores a 1969 Camaro purchased from Sergio, a man who had dreamed of finishing the car but had to sell it. After a high-end performance build, the narrator returns the car to Sergio and his family for a celebratory drive, fulfilling a promise to let the original owner experience the completed vision of his \"baby.\"
Six months ago I bought this Camaro from Sergio and it was always his dream to finish this car
but ultimately he ended up needing to sell. I don't want to sell it for my baby. Yeah. I know
I'm not gonna get one again. Parting ways was a little bit emotional because he had wanted to
save it for his grandkids but I promised to bring this Camaro back to him when I was finished so
that he could live out his dream.
Restoration. We have a new Detroit Speed front subframe, quadrilink rear end, and mini tubs.
Fully built, thousand horsepower, Texas speed, twin turbo, 408 stroker, tuned on E with a Holley.
Custom Forgeline wheels, Crafton Michelin tires, six piston front and rear calipers,
two-piece rolled and slotted rotors, five bare brakes, six-speed manual, and yes,
has power steering and AC. And for those who don't know,
I named the Camaro after Sergio's granddaughter, Sofia.
I'm around the corner from his house and I am so excited. I'm a little nervous
because I remember when I let Dean drive my cars. Dean used to race bikes and
I didn't know that. I don't know Sergio well enough to know what he's gonna do when I put
him behind the driver's seat so I'm a little nervous but at the same time I'm really excited
because I love to be able to share cars with people. I feel like it's such a special thing
that we all have in connection and can relate together with. So I'm around the corner from
his house and we're gonna pull up right now. Oh he's outside. What? He's outside.
I wouldn't have heard me pulling up. We just made it here.
He's filming us. I got the whole family and kids and everything. Oh my gosh.
I wasn't expecting so many people. This is our family. Hi, good to see you. Good. Oh my gosh.
Yeah, I wanted to bring the stack of your building in and like show it to you guys.
Some of your videos. Oh yeah. They're just amazing. Oh thank you. It's done such a great job.
Thank you. So then you know I've named her Sophia. Yes and this is Sophia. Hi Sophia.
I named my car after you. Yeah, you guys want to get it? Yeah. Oh what do you think? That's
beautiful. I like it. Thank you. You did a good job. Oh thank you. I'm so happy. I want you to
know you can drive it anytime you want. Really? Yeah. Well I'm gonna have you drive it today.
You know that, right? Yeah. Okay. That's why I'm nervous. Here, I'll pop this for you so you can
take a look at it. Before we go any further, I would love to take a moment to thank today's
sponsor Ipsos ISAY. Yes, Ipsos is one of the largest research companies in the world. It has
been around since the 70s and Ipsos ISAY is the go-to community website dedicated to making sure
your opinion is valued and makes a difference for societies, citizens, and brands. You create
an account, let them know your interests, and then share your opinions through online research
surveys and in return you earn points towards gift cards, cash transfers, charitable donations,
and even merchandise. Take part in research and answer some simple questions to earn gift cards
and rewards. In my opinion, it's an easy side hustle or possibly even a main hustle. We all
have downtime at some part of the day. This is a great way to earn rewards or cash transfers
anytime, anywhere. They do have an app so you can take surveys from your phone. Ipsos ISAY offers
so many different gift cards to choose from, but my favorite is that they offer the option
to donate to charities, including Alive and Well Foundation, which is the non-profit organization
that I recently joined and am on the board of. That's not all. Ipsos ISAY also gives you the
opportunity to try new products, participate in online discussion boards, and do research while
shopping all from the comfort of your phone or computer. Click the link below to start earning
rewards with Ipsos ISAY today. Thank you Ipsos ISAY for sponsoring today's video. Now let's get
back to it. Here I'll pop this for you so you can take a look at it. Oh my gosh. Yeah. I would have
never done this to my car, this car. No? To my car. He still calls it my car. I love it. What
would you have done? Save money and probably put a LS on it. Yeah, well, yeah, same thing. Just
a couple turbos. This is like 1200, right? Yeah, a thousand. Whenever you're ready, let's go. You're
ready? Let's do this? Do you want to drive first or should I drive first? You drive first. Okay.
All right, let's do this. Beautiful. Oh my gosh. I'm gonna do this carbon fiber. Nice. And then
little touch-ups here and there, and then the badge. You know the motor blew on me the first
day driving it. I know, I saw that. I mean, what happened? I had oil, so I don't know. So what
happened there? None. There's, um, I didn't pull it apart, but there was metal in the oil. It just
started misfiring and then. I think it was a bearing or something. Yeah. Everything happens for a reason
though, so I was like, all right, it's time to do this. You need a new engine, so there it is. Yeah. I think you did it on purpose.
Do I need a seat belt? Uh, probably.
The car I used several months ago. I didn't think it would take so long.
Every Sunday, I used to drive it like this. This is it? Yeah, all the way. It's beautiful here.
Thank you so much. Of course. Thanks for selling me the car. I love this. People just buy cars and
just forget about the other person, you know? Yeah. You guys said you bought this in 93.
So you had this, how many years ago? 20 years? 30 years. Almost 30 years. Wow. I'm next. You ready
to drive it? Scared? Nah. I'd be more scared in that seat than that seat. Really? Yeah. At least you're in
control. Can I step on it? Yeah. Step on it all you want. We'll do the first drive. I feel like you two should
drive together afterwards. It's okay. She's like, I'm good. I'm okay. I'm okay. I wouldn't map the throttle.
I think you always wanted to do this car. This is what I, how I want. I always picture it, you know.
Everything, everything. I was scared. I wasn't sure whether or not I should bring it because I didn't
want it to feel like I was rubbing it in your face. But I, okay, I'm glad you don't take it that way
because this car means so much to me now. And I know how much it means to you that I wanted to
share this with you. I really wanted you to, to like get to drive it when I was done, you know.
Beautiful. Thank you so much.
Finding my first car and the thing ended up getting crushed, I guess.
It was stolen three times, was in an accident, like crushed it. And I wish I could find that
car today. What was it? It was an Infiniti, a Nissan.
Yeah, that's exactly what it was. It was a T30.
Beautiful.
I feel like, it's still mine. Well, we're gonna do a payment plan, so.
He was like, I didn't think you'd actually come back to let me drive it.
I mean, the build did take a little longer than four days, so I get it.
You have a little heart on the 69 Camaro. Thank you so much. This is perfect.
He was saying bye to his baby before you arrived. You were gonna buy the car.
Bye!
It means so much to me, I'm sure Sergio, to be able to share this with him and bring the car
back to him to drive. The car last week, and then the day I bring it, it starts breaking up on me.
I was tuning it on the drive, you guys saw I broke up this morning, I reset the TPS, I was doing
everything I could, and unfortunately it's still breaking up. I'm gonna take this again, an actual
professional tune instead of my half-assed tune, and then I'm gonna bring the car back
on his driveway. He just asked me to do a burnout in his driveway. This is what it's like having E85.
I am in a city right now that doesn't have it, and I'm 40 miles from the closest city that does
have it, and my light is on. There's a liquor store right there, I bet you they have Everclear.
Just put some Everclear in the car, I bet you it'll work. While I panic about not having a
gas station nearby, we pulled off at this incredible little burger joint, and the order
number for the food, check this out, is 69. Just like the Camaro. Nice. Couldn't find the E85
station, found regular pump gas, and I'm just gonna be adjusting the Holley as I go. I've already
changed timing and fuel parameters, so I'm just gonna be basically having it learn itself as I
drive back, and I'm just not gonna mad on it. That's the great thing about the Holley,
and the great thing about carrying a laptop with you whenever you drive. Today was so fun,
and that family is honestly so sweet. I am so thankful to have them in my life now,
and I'm so thankful to share this with you guys as well. So it was a cool moment being able to
bring the Camaro back to Sergio, but I'm really happy that he got to experience it,
and also know that he's welcome to drive this car whenever he wants.
Thank you, eCrew, for watching. We out here.
He just asked me to do a burnout in his driveway.
