Video Summary
AI GeneratedA travelogue documenting a journey through Northern Italy, starting from Milan and Lake Como, then moving through Lake Garda, the Dolomites, and ending in Verona. The narrator, a plant enthusiast, focuses heavily on the region's diverse flora, medieval architecture, and local gardening practices while exploring the scenic landscapes.
Crazy! Good for your hair! I have ever get away.
Hello everyone! In this video I am going to take everybody here with me to travel
northern Italy with me. So we just flew from New Jersey to Milan and then we visited the biggest
cathedral in the world, Duomo di Milan. So beautiful! And then we went to Lake Como,
the most beautiful lake in the world. Again, in the world. But we have separate video for that.
You can go and check out that video. And now we have left Lake Como and we're here at Lake Gorda,
the biggest lake in Italy, which has such a beautiful, amazing lake, beautiful mountain.
And also this castle, which is the, I'm not sure the oldest castle, but it is one of the medieval
castles in Italy that we want to take you to. And then we're going to Delamais later. So please
enjoy this video. Okay. What makes this castle so special is there is a, like a man-made marina
where you can dock boats. And we were just saying like, can you imagine when this castle was active,
what kind of boats sailed into this little marina? In comparison to Lake Como, this place is more
like a vacation getaway kind of place for people around here. And the lake is so much bigger.
Look at this view. Come on, come on. You have no idea how much I am obsessed with terracotta.
I wish we can have this roof in our house in New Jersey, but I don't think we can. Those Italian
cypress are so cool. Look at all of them. Wow. Look at this.
It gets diseased. The disease is called disease, like what they have in Dallas. They get like
So they are saying that these walls and these pillars have been standing here for at least
2000 years. So those are olive trees. Do you know what kind of plant this is? The hedge here.
This is rosemary. I have such a hard time trying to keep them alive in New Jersey,
but right here, they're growing like crazy and they have to trim them to be a hedge like this.
It smells just so good. That's the baby rosemary. And they do an irrigation line
because they just plant them. And eventually they're going to be like this.
This is a grocery store in the Michael Gordon and Lidl.
Yeah, we bought this drink, which is very popular in Italy. It's like a mocktail.
This one for Christmas tree. Yogurt. Jason's grandfather's last name. Salad for tonight.
I don't know what this thing is, but I saw people grow them on the road,
so I just want to try. Pasta spikes for cooking. Here's what we're gonna cook tonight. The pasta
and seafood. And with this. And here's what I'm excited the most. Italian watering can.
My life goal is to travel around the world and collect all the watering cans from different
countries. This is what we eat almost every morning. I mean every morning, actually. Granola.
Yogurt. Yogurt. And protein bar. It's like a plum or pear or something. It's a plum.
But so much smaller than the one that they grow in New Jersey. We are very simple in terms of
eating because we want to focus more on seeing things. This is our first time in the Alps. It's
just so crazy. This is Mount Aselia. Alpine flowers everywhere. These are so cute.
We risked life and limb to see these flowers. So cute. I just learned that dandelion is alpine
flowers. We have that at home. We have that at home.
It is so amazing that flowers can grow anywhere, including on the top of the mountain right here.
So we parked our car right there and then we
come, come, come, come, come, come, come, come up to the top of that mountain right there.
Smells good. Buona sera. Buona sera.
Gotcha. Make everything spicy.
This is so good. It's called Gingerino or something. I hope they sell in America.
And here is our house that we stay in the first two or three days in Dalmatia.
Look at the wheels. And wildflowers meadow. Look at that. Wildflowers meadow and look at the wheels.
We wish we could stay here a few more days, but we going to the next location, which is
very exciting. Look at this. We should do this to our front yard. That'd be awesome. This one.
What is this flowers? That would be great in my flower bouquet. Bladder Campion. It's called
either Cowbell or Bladder Campion. So when I booked that Airbnb house, I saw in the map
that this place is like close to everything. Also close to Verona, which is the last city
or village that we going to visit, you know, by the end of the trip. But I didn't realize that
this place is in the Hidden Valley. In order to get to our place, this place that we just left,
you have to drive off the main road. Main road means just like regular main road,
not even highway for like one and a half hour. So we decided to
change our location in the last two days so we can get to the, you know, famous places.
The road is like this going out of a mallet.
This is actually not bad. Be careful. Be careful.
And here's the Airbnb that we moved to. New one. That's our views.
It's a farmhouse that they also turned into Airbnb. A little bit like a homestay kind of thing.
And this is our host. My first language is German, then Italy, and then English. I'm going
stringbees. In German we say Buschbohnen. In Italy we say Fragoli. And in English, yes, it's
stringbees. The buds, it's the potatoes. Potatoes, but at the moment we don't see it.
This is lavender. It's very good in the room. You can put lavender in the water and then you
can drink it. It's very good. The garden is good for your health. She has the best lettuce ever.
You can see they use that this steak for the tomatoes. This is not the first time I see in
Europe. It's like a twisting thing that will support a tomato when they grow up. And there's
a lot of ornamental flowers on the perimeter of the vegetable garden. Cosmos coming up.
And they use a chamomile for bouquet and also they eat it too as a herb. On the end of the
garden right there, they grow berries and some flowering shrubs right there on the end of the slope.
Then I show you in the autumn when it's raining, they're falling up.
Fresh walnuts.
This is her barn. And look at the view.
That's her cow. These are apples and that we can eat in September.
Same kind, like same as our house. We have a lot of apples in New Jersey.
You have like over a hundred. These apricots are very good.
Cherries, yes. These are pears.
Once again, we're at a random medieval village. This is the biggest flower basket I've ever seen.
Look at this. It is a real basket. I want to do this at home. Another condo of plant lovers.
Because it's a shaded spot, so there's a lot of like tropical shade loving plants right there.
So people live in the apartment. And then I have the garden in front of the apartment.
Look at that. Instead of lawn, they have gardens. The flowers and also their vegetables.
Look, all the lettuce, tomatoes, kale, zucchini. But guess what? Now I start seeing the new trend
that people in America also grow food, grow vegetables in their front yard. And I just
love that idea. I hope this becomes a big trend in near future in America.
Please, I would love that. Look at this. This is awesome.
So we ended up spend six hours at the botanical garden. If you want to see all the plant
collections, if you are plant lovers, if you are plant hoarders, check on my videos of the garden
tour of the Charles Mandoff garden. Okay. By the way, we are done. We had dinner. We had Thai food
the first time in one week. I'm so happy that finally I got to eat Thai food. But anyway,
we end up here in the city slash town of Marano. This is another random medieval town that we bump
into. But I just want to show you this day lily. It's the biggest day lily I have ever seen in my
life. We're taking a river walk to digest a little bit. Whoa, look at this. I never thought that daisy
would look good in landscape too. Although Marano is in Northern Italy, but because it's surrounded
by mountains, this one, that one, and that one, it has the microclimate. That means they can go like
like this palm trees.
Today we come to UNESCO world heritage place. This mountain, I don't even know its name. I put
the name here. Okay. It's just so peaceful here. Except that Jason yells at me sometimes.
And there's a lot of wildflowers that I want to show you.
Finally I find it. Forget me not. This is the cut flowers. No, the euphoria, right?
The first time I see forget me not in the wild.
And these little buttercups so cute. See the buttercup like water.
Climates.
Honestly don't. I should be the last to know. All in this. I stand alone. Show me where the ending goes.
Honestly don't. I should be the last to know. It wouldn't be us if we don't stop by.
A local garden center. Aquatic plant or the annual flowers. Begonia. Wow. Only 1.3 euro.
The coral bell. Only 3.5 euro. Petunia in five inch pot. Only 4.8 euro. Wow.
This place is tiny but it's awesome. Oh my god. The prettiest begonia ever.
Ever. I wanna buy one of this. Help me. Which one should I pick? I have no idea what this means.
I just look it up and the meanings are we miss you. I miss you forever in heart.
We'll always love you. Something like that. So I feel like that's probably for somebody who
want to mourn. I mean going to mourn or like for somebody who has their friend or family that
so maybe I'll stay away from that. Maybe one of these. This color they are like um.
I wish I can bring this plant home. Never seen this color before. Wow. Check the bowl.
They even have apple trees sold in this little shop.
Yep I like the patina on this. Yeah we're buying this. Let's look at the patina
and just the color. You're not gonna see something like this in America.
I am buying this little heart because I keep seeing this at every store in this region and
I'm planning to put this on our Christmas tree and whenever I see it it's going to remind me of
South Tyrone which is the region around the Dolomites. We just love getting stuff and
from local like really local shops instead of from like a tourist place you know because we
feel like we get to support local people. Also you get the uniqueness from handcraft,
handmade that you wouldn't find anywhere else in the world.
And then once they're done they take the form down because then the weight of the stones hold
each other in place. We go to Barano on our last day in Italy for Jason to see the Roman
Empire ruins, old town, old city, old tower, all the antique ancient stuff. To be honest with you
I hesitated to make this video because I know that a lot of people are here on my channel to
see my advice, my gardening tasks and tips and master classes, not to see my life, not to see
my travel journey. But I made this video anyway because I don't know for some reason I feel more
connected to you guys when I make this kind of videos you know the casual one and I feel like
you probably feel the same too otherwise you wouldn't be watching this video until the end.
I want to thank you so much for spending your time with me that make me feel special and I
will see you again in the next video in my garden of course bye-bye
