The video discusses the U.S. affordability crisis, arguing that rising prices are a symptom of currency devaluation caused by an expanding M2 money supply. The speaker highlights a trend of central banks reducing their U.S. dollar reserves in favor of gold to hedge against geopolitical risk and systemic instability, urging individuals to hold physical assets to protect their wealth.
Okay, so we need to talk about the rapidly growing
affordability crisis in the United States.
Because most people, when I talk to them about this,
tell me about how they can't afford things
because prices keep going up.
The cost of living, the cost of groceries,
the cost of your bills, which are all true,
prices are going up.
But rising prices are merely the symptom.
What's really going on is that your money,
or I should say your currency, is being devalued, diluted.
Meaning that every single dollar in your wallet
buys less than it did yesterday,
and the day before, and the day before that.
Meaning that tomorrow, and the day after,
and the day after that, it's going to buy even less.
And today, I just saw something
that stopped me dead in my tracks.
Again, none of this really surprises me,
having studied this day in and day out.
But at the same time, too many people I talk to
have no idea what's really coming next.
And you have to understand what's happening now
in order to know how to prepare for what's coming next.
So today, the U.S. M2 money supply
hits record 23.1 trillion in May, okay?
So this is the highest amount.
We're talking about the total money supply
in the economy here.
So this would be checking, savings, money market funds,
right, everything like that.
As far as what we're looking at here,
you can see that, of course,
there's been big upticks when certain things have happened.
2008, great financial crisis, right?
The money printing went wild.
What happened here?
We saw an expansion all the way up to 2020.
That's when everything shot straight up.
Now, in 2022, right, we were told
that they were going to tighten things.
They were gonna reel back, right,
put the genie back in the bottle
of what they had done in 2020.
Well, obviously, that did not last long.
Look at that right there.
Didn't last long, maybe a year, two years,
and then, whoop, we're right back at it.
Now, how does this impact you?
You can think of it like this.
Let's say you have a glass of orange juice filled halfway
and you start pouring water into it.
Well, the amount, the volume of liquid
is gonna keep going up.
That's the money supply.
But what happens to your orange juice?
Every sip is going to taste more and more
and more water down.
That's like when you try and spend your dollars
as the money supply continues to grow.
And it's not just the size that should concern you.
It's the speed at which it's happening.
The largest monthly increase in five years,
a one-month change, came right now,
which is insane because all we keep hearing about, right,
is that they're tightening things,
that we're gonna have inflation risks lowered.
In fact, Kevin Warsham came out today
and said that inflation risks are disappearing,
which I don't know.
I mean, I guess I could go out
and say that the sky is green.
Doesn't make it true.
But ultimately, if you have a GDP,
so here we have the real GDP for the United States
growing at a slower pace
than you do the money supply, right,
the velocity of money that's moving around,
that's when we're going to see more inflation
and again, a weakening of your dollar.
Now, for anyone out there who thinks
that this is going to somehow solve itself,
think again.
In fact, I saw another article just come out today.
For the first time, more central banks
are set to shrink dollar holding survey fines.
Now, this article is referring to a survey
done of about 75 central banks that was just completed
saying that they are going to shrink
their dollar reserve holdings.
Now, I have a lot of faults with this article title,
which is why I don't trust everything you read in the news,
right, for the first time,
more central banks are set to shrink dollar holdings.
This is not new news.
I'm sorry, but this is not new news.
This is not the first time.
This is a proven fact that this has been going on.
In fact, I'll show you right here.
This is a chart of USD assets
as a percent share of foreign exchange reserves.
So we're talking about globally, right?
The dollar is dominant.
US treasuries are the primary foreign exchange reserves
that nations hold.
Well, what's happened over the last 25 years?
They went from accounting for roughly 72%
of total foreign exchange reserves
to last year hitting 56%.
Now, I haven't found any updated data with 2026 yet,
but I can bet you that this number
is going to continue to decline, okay?
So nations are moving away from the dollar.
That puts even more pressure on the dollar system
here at home, here in the United States.
And again, this survey that this article is referring to,
I have it pulled up here,
it shows us dollar decrease over the longterm
central banks here.
We have USD, okay, right here.
24% said that they're going to decrease
their dollar holdings, right?
Maybe some decrease of the Euro, right?
A little bit, but it's the dollar we're talking about.
Japan, 2% decrease, but the dollar, 24%
said they're going to decrease their dollar holdings.
That's significant.
And not only that, 60% said they're gonna maintain
compared to 16% increase.
Well, I can tell you one thing.
Guess what's gonna happen here in the United States?
Nothing is going to change because of this.
You think that this spend is going to slow
because suddenly there aren't buyers for our debt?
No, the US has crossed over into a threshold
where we are needing to borrow more
just to pay the interest,
just to pay the interest on the debt.
That's what we're doing here.
So this number is gonna continue to rise,
but we're going to have less buyers, right?
Not only are we gonna have central banks
decreasing their holdings,
but they're not gonna be adding more.
So where are those buyers going to come from?
Okay, that's the big question.
And ultimately, this is, again,
going to put a lot of pressure on the dollar system.
It already has been.
I mean, in fact, they said the quiet part out loud, right?
Scott Besant, US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant
came out last week and admitted as much
talking about Venezuela and Iran, right?
He wasn't going in there saying,
oh, we needed to prevent a dictatorship.
He was saying that we needed to ensure
that the dollar was back at the center of the system.
And then he caught himself, right, and corrected it.
But ultimately, it was very clear
that the number one concern for the US
is making sure that the dollar stays on top.
That's what's really going on here.
So where are central banks moving instead?
Well, this is not new news.
We've talked about this before.
But in a volatile environment,
central banks are prioritizing safety first.
But they are laying the groundwork
for diversification later.
But safety first, why is that?
Well, it says gold is the defining asset of the moment
with a record share of reserve managers
planning to increase their allocations
driven by geopolitical risk
and growing doubts about the stability
of the international monetary system, okay?
If those in power, if those in control
are telling you that they have doubts
about the stability of the monetary system,
the system that we all exist inside, right,
the system that this and every dollar-denominated asset
exists inside, what does that tell you
about what's gonna happen next, right?
If you look at our purchasing power,
it really all comes back to this, right?
When I say that your dollar is worth less today
than it was yesterday and will be worth more today
than it is tomorrow, I'm not just making that up, right?
We clearly can see what's happening
with the purchasing power of the dollar.
Over the last six years, the dollar has lost
at least 30% of its purchasing power.
That's 5% on average per year.
And that's not a one-time 5%, right?
That's 5% year over year over year.
It's no wonder that so many Americans
feel like they're running as fast as they can
and they can't outrun this affordability crisis
that's coming for them, right?
Again, I started this video talking about prices going up
and how that's a symptom.
The underlying disease, right, is right here.
Ultimately, you are unable, if you're storing your wealth
in dollar-denominated assets,
you are unable to truly save, okay?
It's going to be more and more hard
to get ahead in this system.
That's the bottom line.
That's why central banks are moving into gold.
They're moving into gold.
It's the number one asset, safety first, okay?
There was even another thing I saw in here.
Let me see if I can find it.
Why do you invest in gold?
Number one, diversification.
They're getting out of the dollar.
Protect against geopolitical risk, inflation hedge, right?
The reasons go on and on.
And central banks remain bullish on gold prices.
I know you guys are gonna be out there going,
okay, okay, we hear you,
we understand this is happening with the dollar,
so then why, why, why is gold going down?
Here's the thing, you guys.
Look at this, look at the money supply, right?
Look at what's happening right now in the United States.
I personally, of course, own physical gold and silver.
And I'm not sweating it
because I know where it's going next, right?
History shows us.
Yeah, okay, so gold's 4,000 today.
That doesn't mean that it's going to stay 4,000
or go down forever, right?
It will continue to go up.
We will see it go back up because the thesis has not changed.
In fact, it's only gotten stronger.
It has only gotten stronger.
So yeah, there's a ton of different things
going on right now.
When you look at gold's spot price, right?
The spot price, that's that 4,000.
That's because it's determined
by a ton of different factors,
whether we're talking about paper markets, right?
Sell-off there,
whether we're talking about liquidity crisis,
it's happening because of private credit
and everything else going on in the system
and forced sell-offs and this and that and whatever.
But the thesis for where gold is going next has not changed.
And ultimately, with confidence,
I can promise you that anything stored inside the system,
that is not where you wanna be,
which again is why for me personally,
I make sure I'm protected outside of the system
with physical, physical gold and silver.
If you personally are watching this
and you're scared about the growing affordability crisis,
if you're scared because maybe it hasn't caught you yet,
but you can feel it knocking on your door,
you know where things are going next
because this doesn't just impact one section, right?
Of the United States,
this impacts everyone who holds dollars, right?
From the haves to the have-nots.
It's going to be assets, right?
True assets without counterparty risk
that are going to protect you from what's coming next.
