In this video, I partner with DESLOC to check out the V150 Plus, the world's first self-charging solar smart lock that completely eliminates the everyday hassle of constantly swapping out dead batteries. What genuinely surprised me about this device is its use of flush, built-in perovskite solar cells that can pull a charge from just 300 lux of ambient light an absolute game-changer for shaded entryways like my north-facing front door under the balcony. Through the app's real-time energy dashboard, I could actually watch the proprietary Battery Management System (BMS) actively optimizing the charge while the lock was just sitting on my desk. Installation was a total breeze, taking under 15 minutes with a single screwdriver, and the everyday access tech is just as impressive as the power system. Whether I'm coming back inside from walking the dogs with a hat and sunglasses on which the Face Vision 3D biometrics recognize instantly before I even touch the door or using the lightning-fast, adaptive GPT Fingerprint 2.0 reader, this lock is incredibly responsive, requires no additional Wi-Fi hubs, and is backed by a massive 10,000 mAh removable battery, making it the ultimate maintenance-free upgrade for your home security.

What's up guys, Shane Sarnes here, and today I want to talk about something that genuinely
surprised me. In this video I'll be partnering with Deslock to take a look at the V150 Plus.
This isn't just another piece of smart home tech, this is the world's first self-charging
solar smart lock. It's like the Tesla of smart locks, and I'm going to show you guys exactly why.
Let's go ahead and get started. Before we dive in, I definitely wanted to take a look at the
presentation box. They actually sent out a press gift box, which immediately made it feel like I
was dealing with a high-end device. The Deslock V150 Plus has received recognition from PCMag,
Tom's Guide, CNET, and TechRadar, as well as receiving the Muse Design Gold Award.
The box claims the Perovsky solar panels up to 659% more efficient than traditional solar panels
in low-light conditions. The story of this lock really starts with the ultimate everyday pain
point, constantly replacing batteries. I've got a lock in my back door that I've already had to
replace the batteries in three times this year so far. Battery swapping is totally a thing of the
past with the V150 Plus. What really blows me away is the low-light charging capability. Standard
silicon solar panels need intense direct sunlight to actually charge, like 100,000 lux. Most of us
don't have front doors sitting in direct, unobstructed sunlight for the entire day.
My front door faces north, so I know exactly what the problem feels like. And specifically for me,
the front door sits underneath the balcony, so there's never direct sunlight at my front door.
But the V150 Plus kicks on at just 300 lux. That's regular indoor ambient light. You can think about
a hallway, a covered porch, an overcast day, or even a porch light at night. It's still pulling
a charge. Now how does it do this in real-world conditions? It's because the V150 Plus uses
perovskite solar cells built right into the lock body, not slapped on top, built right into the
body of the lock. The panel is 4.8 inches, which is the largest ever built directly into a lock,
and it sits perfectly flush with the aluminum housing. You wouldn't even know that it's there.
Harvesting light is one thing. Managing that energy intelligently is something totally different.
Standard solar locks just passively charge with no logic behind them, so they overheat direct sun
and shut down in the shade. The V150 Plus has a proprietary BMS, or battery management system,
that actively manages both situations. If you've got too much light, it detects the overvoltage
and protects the circuit. If you've got low light, it optimizes for precision low voltage charging to
squeeze out every bit of power that it can. And the best part is you can actually see all of this
working inside the Deslock app. They give you a real-time energy dashboard that essentially
visualizes the BMS at work. I want to be specific about what that means because it's not just a
basic battery percentage icon. You get the live solar lux reading, your real-time charge rate in
milliamp hours, exact battery percentage, and a full 24-hour and 7-day charge history. The battery
backing all of this up is a 10,000 milliamp hour removable lithium battery. On battery alone with
no solar at all, you're getting up to eight months of operation. When I say that it's removable,
I mean it's actually removable. You don't need any tools. You can just swap it in and out in seconds.
Now beyond the power system, the access tech is also solid. FaceVision 3D uses structured light
biometrics. This is the same class of technology as smartphone face ID. It's not a 2D camera that
can get tricked by a photo. And what makes this incredibly practical for everyday use is that the
3D face recognition still works perfectly if you're wearing a hat, glasses, or even if you
have facial hair. If I'm coming back inside from walking the dogs for instance with my hat and
sunglasses on, it still recognizes me instantly and unlocks before I even touch the door thanks
to the built-in 24G radar proximity sensor. Infrared fill light handles total darkness.
It just works no matter the lighting conditions. The fingerprint reader is GPT fingerprint 2.0.
It reads in under 0.15 seconds and runs on a local MPU using a transformer-based model,
actually adapting to changes in your fingerprint over time, which isn't typical for a smart lock.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in with no additional hub required. You get real-time access to logs,
guest scheduling, and Alexa and Google Home support right out of the box. And I was able to
install this in under 15 minutes with a single screwdriver. I didn't need to call an electrician
or a contractor. It was simple enough to install that I really think that anyone can do it.
At the end of the day, this lock does things that no other lock does. It's the world's first
self-charging solar smart lock with perovskite cells that charge in a hallway, a battery
management system that thinks for itself, a 10,000 mAh battery with 8 months of standalone backup,
face ID class biometrics that work through hats and sunglasses, and a fingerprint reader
that actually learns your fingerprint over time. All of that in one single smart lock that can be
installed in under 15 minutes. If you're tired of swapping batteries and getting low battery
notifications on your front door, then this is definitely a smart lock that you should check out.
The V150 Plus is live on Kickstarter right now. Super early bird pricing is also available at
launch and I'll be sure to put the link in the description so you can learn more and pick this
up for yourself. That about wraps it up for this video. Thanks guys for watching,
be blessed, and I'll see you in the next one.
