Hey guys, Wout here on the Jefferson Memorial in Washington DC.
Today we've got various aircraft from the U.S. military
practicing for the 4th of July Salute to America flyover.
It's going to be taking place on Saturday, that's tomorrow.
There's a Dash 8 making its way over. They've deployed markers.
This will be for a parachute display. That is the
U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute display team just making their way
into National Mall.
Right in front of the White House. Here comes the rest of the power troops
just jumping out of the back right now.
Two of them joined at the flag.
Part of the schedule is going to be both the Golden Knights
and the Leaf and Fogs from the Navy. So that's the Prisoner of War
slash Missing in Action flag. Here come the Army choppers.
Looks like it's going to be Chinooks and Blackhawks. Oh and Apache back there as well.
Now we have MV-22 Ospreys inbound from the United States Marine Corps.
There's a second Osprey right now. We have two fast jets approaching from the right.
Yeah they're F-35s. Yeah they're right there. I see them, they're coming.
B variant, so unique, the ability to hover.
Five Bs with the U.S. Marine Corps.
F-35C. F-35C variant in service with the U.S. Navy.
They have longer wings that can be folded up on aircraft carriers.
Now approaching from the left we have the Boeing VC-25A.
This is the classic aircraft that has taken the callsign of Air Force One.
Transporting the U.S. President for the past 30 to 40 odd years.
Looks like we've got a motorcade going down Independence Avenue.
We have an F-22 Raptor, U.S. Air Force.
There we have an F-22 air superiority fighter.
All right approaching from the left we have the Huge One formation of aircraft.
It's going to be led by the Boeing VC-25.
So it looks like it might actually be the blank VC-25,
the one without the patriotic livery. This one's used as a training aircraft.
So that was the Huge One formation making its way over DC.
We'll add each type in the description along with the times.
Of course on the 4th of July there'll be a lot more of that,
a lot more aircraft making their way over.
Here come the Thunderbirds.
And here comes the Tri-Bomber formation.
Looks like one B-2 South Bomber and two B-1 Lancers.
So we were reportedly meant to be getting F-5s from NASA
but they've not shown up so I think that's going to be it for today's rehearsal.
That was about three hours of flying.
Tomorrow is seven hours of flying for the main Salute to America event
taking place on the National Wall right in front of us.
That is the keystone event of Independence Day here in DC.
We're going to be heading over to New York City nice and early tomorrow morning.
We're going to be getting a parade of ships and a massive international aerial parade.
So do stay tuned for that.
Thanks for watching and see you on the next one.
All right folks I'm just going to leave you with this shot of the Jefferson Memorial
and that is going to be all for today's video.
Thanks for watching.
See you on the next one.
