This video discusses how to stop letting money control your emotions and life by replacing fear and financial illiteracy with strategic knowledge. The speaker emphasizes the importance of compartmentalizing money from emotions and relationships, urging viewers to move away from traditional \"mass market\" financial advice toward wealth-building strategies.
How to not let money control you. In this video, we're going to talk about that whole principle.
Is money controlling you emotionally or how do you compartmentalize and get strategic? We're
going to talk about that. More importantly, I'm going to share with you how do you own
nothing but control it all. Then you have conquered this entire conversation. Let's begin.
So there's four things I'm going to talk about. I'm going to talk about the emotion
that people put around money and I'm going to actually expand that to how couples have money
and love all tied up. The whole thing's a disaster. Number two, I'm going to talk about this whole
principle and strategy. How do you own nothing and control it all? Number three, what do you
do with asset management? How do you manage assets so they don't control you or you get a
little odd about that? And number four, what are the tax strategies of doing this exact technique
that I'm going to teach you? So get a pen and paper. This one's a big one. So let's talk about
the emotion behind it. So first of all, there's no emotion with money. Money is just money. It's
a way to transact, right? You buy and sell things with it. The only reason that's emotional is
because you made it emotional. In the book, Think and Grow Rich, they talk about desire.
I mean, if you haven't read Think and Grow Rich, you've got to go get it. It's world-class.
But inside of there, it gets tangled up because a lot of you think that the get-rich-quick is what
we're talking about. That isn't what we're talking about. The other part of the emotion that I want
to talk about desire and knowledge is another concept that Think and Grow Rich talks a lot
about is a lot of you have an emotion around money and you have a fear around money or you
think what I say is risky around money. The truth is you just don't know. This has nothing to do
with emotion, fear, any of those things. If you're a married couple, like money and love,
they don't even go together. Money's money, love's love. Why are they in the same conversation?
So what I want you to do is start compartmentalizing and separating that.
And really, the truth is you're financially illiterate. So what causes that fear and
trepidation or that hesitation when I say, let's go make money is you don't know how.
And when I say go invest, you don't know how. So instead of saying, I need to lean in and learn
something about money because it's in my life every day, you back out and put some emotional,
oh, I have a bad mindset with money. No, you don't have any mindset with money.
You don't know a thing that have enough mindset with money. So I need to put knowledge is the
thing that you get hungry for. I want you to want to be here. To that point, I want you to be here.
I want a year of your time, minimum. I really want you for the rest of your life, but I want
one year, five days a week, 10 to 12 minutes a day, which means subscribe to my channel,
click on the notifications, everyone in your life that you want to start talking about money with,
which by the way, you should talk about money. I mean, here's a little homework assignment,
just do in the next three days. I want you to take a list and you put it on your phone,
however you want to do it. Take a picture of how many transactions you do a day
that involves money. How many things do you buy? Do you go get coffee? Do you get lunch?
Is your mortgage being taken out today? Your rent being taken out today? Is your car payments being
taken out today? Do you have a credit card bill due today? Are you paying for your phone bill?
All day long, you transact with money. I would bet there's not one day in 30 days that you do
not transact with money. So isn't it odd that no one teaches it? And so here's the news.
The system's not broke. It was built this way. It was built that you say a sheep,
that you follow along and you have a job and you're so busy in your job that between your
job and your kids and your household, you have nothing else to do. So you never invest.
You never think about what am I going to do for me? What do I want for financial literacy? You
just let money control you. It's ridiculous. So cut the umbilical cord and say, no, I'm not
going to let it emotionally control me. I'm going to learn and I'm going to follow my channel. I
also have a really cool podcast. You can watch that every Friday if you want more, but you've
got to stay in this lane. You cannot listen to Susie Orman and Dave Ramsey. They're going to
teach you very different principles. They do not teach you to get rich, nor do they claim to.
They're the best at what they do in their category. And I'm the best in this category.
I'm also in the lane of rich dad, poor dad, and those conversations, think and grow rich,
pick a philosophy and pick a lane and don't waver. You'll get really confused.
So number one is your emotion. We're going to stop that. And I want you to lean in
and create knowledge. You're going to learn. You're going to get really smart with money
because then it gets fun. Like you hear wealthier people say, I love the art of the deal. I love
cutting deals. And I do. That is totally me. I love the creativity of deal. I love the cutting
of the structure of the deal. I love putting partners together that can survive a partnership
and do it right. Love all those things. So that brings me to my next point, which is asset
management. As you make money, you have to learn to invest it. And you say, well, no,
I'm just going to park it with a financial planner. I call that park and pray because
you're praying to God. Somebody who's probably not a millionaire. They're probably not even
a hundred thousandaire is going to manage your money in the stock market. I mean, God help you.
That's all I got to say. Like it's not what wealthy people do. Some wealthy people trade
the market. A lot of my wealthy clients, we use an app called iFlip, and I'm going to give that
to you in the link below. So you'll be able to get a free app and start investing that way.
But you got to start learning how investing works, how debt works, how structures work,
how taxes work. And you say, well, that's all boring to me. I know, but you engage in it every
day unconsciously. So until you decide this is important for you, you're going to stay broke,
emotional and whining and crying about money and then fighting with your significant other,
whatever flavor that is, because you have money issues, right? Money and love don't even go
together. My husband and I met late, late, late in life. My money and my kids are my thing,
how he does his money and his kids are his thing. And we just have a lot of fun together.
How about that for love? That's a totally different way to do it. And you don't fight
about mine. I do it my way. He does it his way. It's totally cool. So you're going to find your
path. I'm going to help you find your path. Let's go to the third, which is the tax strategies.
A lot of you, you overpay tax because you're emotional. You don't manage your spending.
You don't manage your corporate structure, or you don't even have a company. See, here's the
thing about taxes is if you don't have a corporation, an LLC, an S-corp, C-corp,
limited partnership or trust, you really don't access anything more than a schedule C. And I
think a schedule C has maybe 20, 30 little deductions on it. And if you're like using
TurboTax or H&R Block, again, those are for the masses, not for those learning to be a wealth
builder and a millionaire. Like we file tax in September. That's when our companies file tax.
And personally, we file in October. I haven't filed tax in April for, I don't even know,
20 years. I mean, you don't need to. My son won't ever pay taxes in April. Why would you?
And those of you who can't wait for your tax return, why'd you overpay in the first place?
Again, the system's not broke. It was built this way. You have to decide that I want to learn,
and I'm going to control my money in a smart way, not an emotional way.
So again, stay on this channel five days a week. What I want you to do next is go take my financial
personality quiz, and that'll put you into one of four of my profiles. It's going to be followed by
an application to talk to one of our strategists. And let's begin to redesign your life, get you out
of make and spend. Like I said, in The Secret, if you haven't watched The Secret for a while,
it's out on Netflix. I'm in The Secret. I have the red jacket on, and I'm the one who says money
comes easily and frequently. Now, a farm girl from Nebraska, that took a long time to make that the
truth because it was a lie for a long time. But money can come easily, and it can come frequently
to you. So let's begin. I'll talk to you tomorrow.
