Demonology 101. Praying and fasting get rid of some demons to a certain level. But to get rid of all demons of all level, you need something stronger and the Bible shows you exactly how. Turn your pages to Matthew chapter 17 verse 14 through 21 and I'm going to read it for you. Now, if you have the NLT version, the ESV, the NIV version, verse 21 has been taken out. So if you want to see that verse, you're going to have to go to the King James version, okay? At the foot of the mountain, a large crowd was waiting for them. A man came and knelt before Jesus and said, Lord, have mercy on my son. He has seizures and is suffering terribly. He often falls into the fire or into water. So I brought him to your disciples, but they couldn't heal him. Jesus said, you faithless and corrupt people. How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy here. Then Jesus rebuked the demon in the boy and it left him. From that moment, the boy was well. Afterwards, the disciples asked Jesus privately, why couldn't we cast out that demon? You don't have enough faith. Jesus told them, I tell you the truth. If you had even, if you had faith, even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, move from here to there and it would move. Nothing will be impossible for you. So that's up to verse 30, sorry, 20. Now verse 21 says, and this is the most important piece. Why they took it out of the Bible? Do not know, but this is what it says. Hubit, which means but or for, this kind goeth not out by prayer and fasting. So what Jesus is basically saying, that ranking of demon that was in the boy, prayer and fasting is not enough to get that demon to leave, which means something stronger has to be used. Now the answer for this is in Matthew chapter four, verse one through 11. Notice in that chapter, Jesus fasted and prayed for 40 days and 40 nights, and he still could not get Satan off his back. So what did Jesus use to get him to go away? The word, it is written, it is written, it is written, it is written. This is why Satan fights so hard to keep you out of scripture, because the only thing that can truly get rid of all demons, including high ranking demons, is the word of God. This is why the Bible says, does my word not smash like a hammer? Does it not burn like fire? That's what truly gets high ranking demons to leave. This is why you see a lot of people, they're praying and they're fasting for deliverance and it's not working, because that demon is too strong. You need to use the word of God. Depending on your situation, because even I have done this, simply agreeing with the word of God gets rid of them. I was in a situation one time where a demon was whispering foolishness to me and I declared the word of God and agreed with what God said and I felt it lift. You don't even have to say get away from me, you just simply have to agree with what scripture says and they'll go. So yeah, if you're in a situation where you are fasting and praying for a spiritual breakthrough and you think you're not getting it, it's not that you're fasting or praying incorrectly, it's just that fasting and praying is not strong enough to get rid of that kind of demon, that specific demon, that rank of demon. So yeah, you need to get into the word and apply the word to your life and declare the word over your life and they will leave. That's how you get rid of all demons, not some of them.
