Video Summary
AI GeneratedThis video features an interview with Keanu Reeves, Cameron Diaz, and Matt Bomer regarding their new film, *Outcome*. Directed and co-written by Jonah Hill, the movie is a \"cautionary comedy\" that explores the pressures of Hollywood fame, the cost of celebrity, and the chaos of crisis management when a movie star's reputation is threatened by an extortion video.
Bobby and Tyra, we got a big problem.
There's a video.
What's on it?
I have no idea.
I need to know everyone who hates you.
You need to go and apologize to them.
And without them realizing it,
feel out if they're the ones behind the video.
Who hates me?
That's a look at Outcome,
a new movie that pulls back the curtain on Hollywood fame,
revealing a story of regret, secrets, and consequences.
And when an extortion video threatens movie star Reef Hawk,
he's forced to confront his past.
And joining us now is Keanu Reeves, Cameron Diaz, and Matt Bomer.
Hey, everyone.
Well, let's dive right into this movie
because I had so much fun watching it.
Keanu, let's start with you first.
I thought it was funny when I read that Jonah Hill,
who co-wrote and directed this,
had you in mind for this character
because he thought of the one actor
that he never wanted to see canceled in Hollywood.
So when you're playing a character
who's a big movie star like you are in real life,
dealing with his brand and potential bad press
and all of his fans,
how much could you channel your real life into this?
Yeah, I mean, I think the world that Jonah put together
of what I guess Hollywood or the experience of it,
you know, like a person with an artistic dream,
the idea of a crisis lawyer,
you know, energy and resources coming to protect him
from, you know, whatever harm felt pretty accurate.
I think the team of people
who are trying to spin everything for this actor
is something that I haven't really experienced before,
but, you know, I've, but I have seen people like,
you know, well, we should do this or not do that
and we should, you know, address these kinds of things.
And the talk shows and, you know,
just kind of that world felt pretty authentic.
Oh, I can only imagine.
I felt that way watching it.
Cameron, I guess it kind of goes along the same question,
but when it comes to the entertainment industry,
when you first read this script,
how honest do you feel this movie is?
Because I just kept thinking
there's gotta be some truth here.
Yeah, I mean, you know, this,
the insight of this film about celebrity,
I think is just, you know, bit cautionary, you know,
it's like, it's a cautionary tale
or cautionary comedy, as we say.
And I think it, you know,
in the society we live in now with all the social media,
a lot of people can sort of, you know,
a lot of people can be seen and, you know,
and they put a lot of value to that, you know,
and they want people to watch them.
But there is a cost to that.
And we're witnessing Reef, you know,
who started as a child actor all the way through,
sort of really, you get to see
how much it costs him in his life.
All three of you play friends.
So Matt, you know, when you're playing friends
who've known each other for decades,
how much fun did you have
kind of creating this chemistry with these two?
I mean, this is when you're grateful
that you're working with these two icons
because these are folks who have inspired me,
uplifted me, broken my heart on screen,
and yet they're such good actors
that they just jump right in
and you forget all that iconography
and you're just present in the scene with them
in these relationships.
And I think the writing that Jonah and Ezra put together,
Jonah Hill and Ezra Woods, the writers,
the voices they had for these characters
were so lived in and the dynamics were so unique
to their world that it was pretty easy
just to kind of, you know,
jump right into the process with them.
I love hearing that.
You know, when you look at this entire cast,
you have so many amazing people.
You have Martin Scorsese, Susan Lucci, David Spade,
and of course, Drew Barrymore, Cameron.
I know, Drew, and you didn't get to share
scenes together in this movie,
but with talks of a new Charlie's Angels film going on,
how pumped would you be to reunite with Drew and Lucy?
I mean, that would be a dream come true.
They're my girls.
Okay, see, that's all I need to hear.
I hope that happens.
Well, thank you so much, everyone.
I really had a good time watching this movie.
Awesome, thank you.
Good to see you.
And you can stream Outcome this Friday on Apple TV.
