A Boeing 737 freighter operated by Pakistan's K2 Airways has vanished off the country's
southernmost coast, with it believed the aircraft came crashing down into the sea. With search and
rescue underway, the time this video is going live, the operation to locate those aboard the plane,
the black boxes, and other key parts of the 737 involved in the accident is taking place.
K2 Airways Boeing 737-400 freighter was operating what was meant to be a routine flight when it
lost contact with air traffic controllers over the Arabian sea just southwest of Karachi
late Tuesday local time and this obviously prompted concerns. Early reporting thanks
to available flight data from the service provider of flight radar 24 shows the aircraft cruising as
normal before it lost contact with controllers who were unable to re-establish communication with
the jet which also failed to arrive at its intended destination. The flight operating as KTA 1732
was last seen 300 kilometers west of Karachi with a dramatic loss of altitude before the
plane's disappearance, this being flagged the 737 operating to Karachi and the disappearance
tracked to 421 pm UTC. Flight radar 24 data further showing that the latest signal placed
the aircraft at an altitude of 1,100 feet and dropping at a vertical speed of 22,400 feet per
minute. At the moment we're simply relying on data that is provided to the public through flight
tracking systems naturally finding those black boxes and going through the evidence will be
critical to understanding what took place and getting the actual specifics on what happened.
Aboard were a crew of five who naturally all are missing following the loss of communication
and the reported preliminary data showing the most obvious case being the plane down in the ocean.
AP-BOI is the K2 Airways aircraft that has been involved in the incident it's a 27 year old Boeing
737 and it is the sole aircraft operated by K2 Airways the jet equipped with CFM engines it
started life in 1999 with Aeroflot where it was then converted into a freighter 13 years later in
2012 for use with TNT Airways however in the period between it being a passenger plane and a freighter
it went to the likes of Garuda Indonesia it then was on a lease before it ended up at TNT Airways
and TNT Express it was even at ASL Airlines Belgium we then saw FedEx Express but it was
also at this point still operated by ASL in 2024 it would fall under Aerocaps registration of VP-CFG
and then in late 2024 it would be deployed to K2 Airways on a very lease entering into service in
December of 2024 like I said this the only aircraft operated by K2 a very tragic incident
and one that now needs to see a full investigation take place but before that we need to locate the
crucial parts that are going to be so important to this investigation taking shape to find a cause
and naturally bring closure to those that were aboard the flight and their families I appreciate
you watching given the circumstances I hope you're doing well and I'll see you back here
no doubt soon for hopefully some more positive news
