I booked this place as a normal guest and I paid for my night here.
I'll let you know how much at the end of the video,
but I'm going to be touring this place and giving you my 100% honest review.
And spoiler, this place absolutely rocks.
But there are some things I didn't like about this tiny house,
and I'll be mentioning that throughout this video as well.
So let's begin.
So we're right off the road and you'll see frequently horse and buggies on the road.
That's because we're in the Amish country,
one of the biggest populations in the United States up here in northern Ohio.
I love this area.
They're so friendly and so fun to watch, but there's just great food,
tons of stuff to do around the area.
It's a very unique space in the country.
So if you haven't been, you should totally come here and check it out.
But this tiny house is right off the road,
and you'll pull up to your parking spot, of course.
We have an outdoor fire pit area, which is very, very beautiful.
Very well landscaped.
I love these huge stones that kind of do some of the landscaping aboard the property.
Then you'll walk up onto your front porch area.
Nice concrete, nice landscaping, of course.
Beautiful views in front of us.
We have an outdoor dining table.
You can come out here, drink your coffee,
wave to the local Amish and Mennonite community, and just enjoy your time.
Taking a closer look at the exterior of the tiny house,
I think this is important to make this place look appealing.
A lot of times, white vinyl windows just don't look good,
but they made them work with this space.
This looks like it's wood exterior, but this is actually metal.
Metal that is painted to look like wood or textured to look like wood.
So we have the wood mixed with the black detailing,
and the white windows work just so well.
Of course, the amount of windows always makes this place look good.
But with the wood, it's also horizontal,
and then we have the board and batten black on the side.
So lots of different dimensions and textures and colors.
It looks awesome, but it's not tacky.
But we're here to check out the inside.
Like I said, this has a really, really high rating on my scale,
but there are some things I did not like.
So let's walk inside.
As I walked inside, I quickly realized this is one of my favorite tiny houses I've been to,
thanks to the layout and just the design of this home.
It is very spacious.
There's a ton of room in here.
It doesn't even feel like I'm in a tiny house, yet I am,
thanks to the tall ceilings, the floor plan in general, and of course, all of the windows.
We'll start with the windows because it's important.
We have a huge window here, we have a huge window behind me,
and of course, the double doors right here behind the camera that are glass.
That allows light to come in from every angle,
and it illuminates every nook and cranny of the space.
That is so important in a home.
You want it to be illuminated, so having windows on all sides is something you need to consider.
A lot of people, whenever they do this style of tiny house,
the shape, it's kind of a pretty normal shape of a tiny house,
they just do the windows on the front side, and that just doesn't illuminate the space enough.
You need windows everywhere, so I love that.
I love the tall ceilings.
The shiplap as well helps, but the texture,
since they just did like an all-white aesthetic in here, that can feel really stale.
You need texture, you need just interest in the home.
Shiplap is one way to do that over drywall, so really cool there.
We have the light wood flooring helps, the pop of green in the kitchen.
It's like a wood aesthetic.
Can't go wrong, but we are here in the kitchen.
The living room and the dining space takes up about half the home.
Here in the living room, we have some seating options.
It can sleep more than two people because this black couch is also a futon,
so somebody could sleep here, three guests.
Whoever wants to take that daring option to see if they'll sleep there all night, I don't know,
but that can be converted into a bed.
We have a nice rocking chair that I personally really like.
I'm just sitting here rocking and relaxing.
Coffee table with the books.
Since we're heavily in the Mennonite and Amish country, a lot of this stuff is Christian,
so the books are Christian, which I personally really like, but just wanted to point that out.
We do have a TV and a spot to hang up your jackets over here,
even a spot to put your shoes.
This TV, I know what you're thinking.
I know you're worried about this.
How is anybody going to watch this?
Well, it swivels out, and I also know what you're thinking.
TV too high.
Yes, the TV is a little bit too high, but what can you do?
It's just a little high.
Hopefully, you're not watching a lot of TV and a lot of movies here you're out exploring.
Anyway, that's one complaint I have.
We'll continue.
The AC and heating unit is right above the living room, and guys, it is 95 degrees today.
I have this thing set to 68, and it is doing it like a champ.
I am nice and comfortable in here.
When I'm outside, I'm sweating, so that's props to the AC and the comfortability of this home.
But continuing, we have this dining table.
I love this dining table.
Right in front of these windows, you can lift up the blinds if you want
and get a really good view of the outside.
One thing I do want to point out is they did the covers and the curtains.
I don't see that too often.
I really like that design option having both.
It really gives it dimension and depth, and it feels like an interior designer did this space.
Anyway, we do have the two-person dining table.
These chairs swivel, which is really nice.
Pretty high quality.
You can sit here.
We have fresh flowers.
I believe these are hydrangeas, and they smell amazing.
I love all the little details in here, and it does continue in the kitchen.
The first thing I noticed were these snack trays they left.
We have this array.
We have this bowl of mints.
I love details like that, and it just knocks the price off a little bit
because this stuff does provide value.
Anyway, we have this perfect kitchenette, is what I'll call it.
I love the Corian countertop because the Corian blends right into the sink,
and it is seamless.
I love that look.
And of course, the brass faucet is a good detail.
The wood floating shelves.
We have all of your plates and your bowls, your sugar, your oils, all of that up here.
And look at the growing vines.
That's a cool little detail.
Are these real?
That's a real vine, and it's going up to the ceiling.
Very cool.
Underneath, we have the mini fridge, which they stock with water.
A lot of places don't do that either, so that's value added in my night stay here.
And of course, underneath, do we have any cooking supplies, actually?
We do.
They have pots and pans.
Here it is.
We have a single hot plate right here, and of course, it would go right here,
and you can cook some meals.
They leave pots and pans.
A microwave.
There's no oven here, so you're not going to be baking that meatloaf, but that's okay,
because since we're in the Amish country, the Mennonite area, there's tons of good food.
They know how to do it.
They even leave a cutting board here, and the cutting board is the Corian countertop,
so you don't have to worry about scratching this.
I like that little detail.
Can't go wrong.
There's also a closet right here.
It's locked, of course, for the hosts.
So this tiny house has several closets you'll find as we continue back through this space,
and then we have the hallway that takes us to the rest of the tiny house.
As we continue down the hallway, we have your coffee station.
I love this.
The coffee.
They leave about 15 different K-Cups for you to choose from.
The creamer, the sugar, everything.
But here's what caught my eye.
They also leave you a free coffee gift card to the Wild Fox Cafe.
Two of them.
You get two free drinks.
Let's go there and see what it's all about.
Wild Fox Cafe.
Oh, a two-minute drive.
You could probably walk here if you wanted to, but really nice.
Here's the front door.
They have a gift card corner.
So if you're a teacher, if you're a veteran, if you're a new parent, even a pastor,
you can take one of these gift cards.
That is awesome.
Anyway, let's walk inside.
Walking inside the coffee shop, it's beautiful.
10 out of 10 interior.
Here's the menu.
They have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and coffee.
I got the panini burrito.
It was fantastic.
And of course, the coffee.
Fantastic.
Everything.
10 out of 10.
Back at the tiny house, we'll continue past the hallway.
The first door on the right is your bathroom space.
This bathroom is just as spacious as every other room in here.
We're on the front half, so we got the taller ceilings and we have the vanity here in front of us.
I love the detail on the wall.
It's not something I would pick.
I would not pick like a gold, floral, modern look.
But for this, it works.
And I just like to see things that aren't just plain Jane.
I like a little bit of taste, a little bit of character.
I would honestly go for more character if it were me, because I just love that.
But floating shelves above the toilets.
Everything you need.
We even have the shower behind us.
It's very comfortable.
It's large.
And of course, it's bright.
That window above us really does help.
And they have more live plants in here.
It's a great option.
So I can't complain about this bathroom.
And lastly, we have the bedroom.
This is the space that surprised me the most, I think.
I really, really like this bedroom.
But this is where my complaints are at, which I'll get to in a minute.
First, we have the queen bed in the middle.
It's not a king.
I think you could have fit a king in here.
But we have a queen.
And it's pretty low to the ground.
You'll see it's very low.
But it's also built on this like four inch riser above the floor.
So that's pretty interesting.
And looking at the floor, you'll notice it's carpet.
I've never seen carpet in tiny houses or really Airbnbs in general.
They get really dirty easily.
They're kind of hard to take care of.
I think that's why people don't do them.
But in a bedroom, carpet makes it cozy.
And a lot of like, you know, homes in the Midwest have carpet in their houses.
So I'm not complaining.
I'm a big carpet fan.
And I like it in this bedroom.
Makes it cozy.
But in here, we have a lot going on, actually, which is what I really like.
First off, behind me, we have the small desk.
You can sit here and just do whatever you need to do at a desk.
We have this beautiful window in front of me.
And then over here is where a lot of the action is at.
So we walk past the TV and you can be watching your movies in here instead of the living room,
because it's a much better height.
The TV is bigger.
Anyway, I love this wood slat detail behind the bed.
Adds character.
And of course, the matching lights in the picture above us.
We even have a ceiling fan in here that helps with the airflow.
But over here, we have a ton of closet space.
First off, right here, you'll notice there is a washer and dryer.
So we have that.
There's no carpet in there, in case you're wondering.
It goes back to the concrete.
Anyway, washer and dryer.
And then we have closet space in here.
And then below, we have the games.
So you don't have to worry about being bored while you're here.
Over on my other side, though, we have an open closet space.
They leave some robes as well for you, which is nice.
An ironing board.
And they leave slippers.
They leave it all.
And I love the amount of closet space and just spots to hang up your clothes are at.
Of course, we have the chair here in the middle, which is pretty cool.
So we do have a window above us that can be shut.
That helps with the lighting.
So we have two windows in here and the nice wallpaper.
I wouldn't have chose that, but that's what they have in here.
What are the things I'm complaining about, though?
Here's the number one issue.
The AC is on the other side of the home.
I like to sleep with this door closed.
The cool air struggles to get to this room.
So I arrived really late last night, like midnight.
I got in here.
The space is cool.
I come in here.
I shut the door.
It starts to get hot.
You know, that's one thing I'm complaining about.
The fan was on, but they do have one thing.
They had this fan in the living room.
I actually don't know if it's a fan or a filter, but I can really make the air come out fast on this.
So I put this right next to my bed.
That actually helped a ton.
So I would suggest a cooling fan in here to help out.
But that's one of my complaints.
The other one is the bed.
It's a little hard.
I'm a plush, soft bed.
I want to sink into it like it's swallowing me.
This bed was a little hard.
Those are my two complaints, plus the TV in the living room being a little high.
That's not bad.
We do have one more space to check out, and that's the backyard.
Off the living room, the door leads you to your back patio space.
I love the rocks.
I love the retaining wall rock that continues here.
It's very beautiful.
And out here we have the grill.
The path continues behind me, and that takes you to the hot tub.
This hot tub is enclosed in this fence with the string lights.
It's a very cute setup.
The unique thing about this is we have a curtain you can close, and you can be totally private back here.
That's for the sole reason to block the neighbor that's on the other side of us in front of me.
That could be the neighbor.
It could be the owner's home.
I'm not too sure.
That is the sole reason for this hot tub space, because we're not really close to any house.
But you can do that, or you can walk up this path and into the woods.
We have a swinging chair that you can enjoy and being in the woods and just private space.
There's string lights back there as well.
So overall, this outdoor space, very well manicured, very well done.
It's fun.
And one thing that makes this space so incredible is the checkout time.
A lot of places have a 10 a.m. checkout time and 11 a.m. checkout time.
Well, here you don't check out until 12 noon.
That is so rare.
I love that.
I despise places that are 4 p.m. check in, 10 a.m. checkout.
Whenever you have the competition doing 3 to 12.
Whenever I open my Airbnb, it's going to be really nice for you guys.
So now it's time to tell you exactly how much I paid for one night.
$257.91 on a Thursday night.
If you stayed multiple nights, it might be a little bit cheaper per night because of the cleaning fee.
But that's how much I'll let you decide if that's worth it or not.
Now, where can you get a house just like this one?
Well, I'll let you know.
Here's a website that sells a kit that's 14 foot wide and 24 feet long.
That would be very similar to this.
I have no idea what the dimensions of this one even are.
I imagine it's very similar.
But that kit is $13,000 and they come in a different variety of options.
You should check it out.
So you can have this tiny house starting at around $13,000.
If you want to buy the shell and finish off the interior yourself.
Of course, I'm sure there's a ton of shed builders around the country
that do something very, very similar to this.
The design isn't that sophisticated.
Now my rating.
Out of 10, I give this truly a 9.3.
I loved it that much.
There's a couple complaints I mentioned.
But this area is fantastic.
The tiny house was fantastic and the hosts were pretty communicative and kind to me.
And this was really easy to find as well.
The booking link is down in the description below.
Thank you guys for watching this video.
I'll see you in the next one.
