Simple Workday Makeup - Grwm ! | Makeup Tutorial For Mature Women

Hey friends, welcome into my channel. My name is Jackie Alves and today it's going to be a simple get ready with me type of makeup. I'm here at my makeup studio, The Beauty Bar, in Arizona where I live and I have lots of clients to serve today. So I just want to look nice. I want to look polished and refreshed but I still need to have a pop of color on my eyes and make sure that I've got those lips that are signature lips of mine. So I'm going to be doing an overline trick for you, a little bit of an ombre or sunset blush and again we're going to make those eyes pop. So get ready for a little bit of fun. Okay, I feel like I look a little clinical in this mock today but that's because I'm going to be helping clients with the Balancer Pro. It's this new lymphatic drainage system that we got here at The Beauty Bar and it's actually one of these suits that does this full body compression lymphatic drainage massage. It's really incredible but you know I have to be dressed appropriately. It can't be my high heels, my long dangly earrings, you know. I've got to help people get suited up in this thing so but I still need to have a nice makeup look of course. So I've already got a little bit of skincare done of course before I left the house so now I can just go straight into primer and I'm using my spray primer today. I like that one. It's by Limelife of course. That's the one that's got a little bit of cornstarch in it. It's got a good grip to it. It helps cream foundations stay on longer and look beautiful but it's a clean formula and you guys know I've been pretty big on that kind of stuff lately. I didn't used to be. I didn't realize it was that important but you know it's part of that taking care of myself and you know honestly I wasn't going to share this with you but I feel like I just want to mention it. So remember I just talked about I have the Balancer Pro here. This big suit. As a matter of fact let me show you. So that's me in the suit. So it's really wonderful for lymphatic drainage, reducing swelling, it's good for post-op, all these things but I had never used it before. I'm going to go ahead and start on my foundation and I saw one of my best friends who I trust. I love her. She's my sister in Christ. I saw that she had, I'll start with the lightest shade first, I saw that she had started using this Balancer Pro and carries it in her med spa and I was really interested in it because I had been wanting to provide a new service here at the Beauty Bar. So fast forward we had prayed about it quite a bit. I went ahead and invested in it and brought it to the Beauty Bar. So I tried it for the first time day before yesterday and I tried the full body for 40 minutes and then I tried the upper body for 20 minutes. I got my foundation here warming it up on the back of my hand and you guys it felt amazing. I was relaxed of course by the time I got home I felt like a useless blob. I was so relaxed but what really shocked me was the next day. Yes it felt great at the time and I peed about a thousand times all night long. Well realistically four but it felt like a thousand because it really releases a lot of that water retention and gets the lymph moving out of your body and so I peed a lot but I woke up the next morning and you guys for the first time in a decade I was pain free. I sat there it took me a minute because I was tired I woke up I made my coffee like I always do and sat down with my Bible and my devotional. So I sat there for a little while once I got woke up I was like wait a minute I'm not in a bunch of pain like my back usually hurts just sitting. I have severe scoliosis and a couple other things going on and for the first time I wasn't sitting there in pain I was just drinking coffee and reading my Bible and I started crying I was so excited and I called my friend Kat immediately and I was crying on the phone to her telling her like I might cry right now. It was amazing the first time in so long to not be in pain just from sitting. So anyway even you know if you're not near me and you can't come do the Balancer Pro if there's not one near you or it's not affordable for you I just want to say that my self-care kind of journey you know taking care of the body God has given me second color you guys I'm going to the deeper shade you know I like to use two but trying to take care of the body that God has given me has really become serious business for my husband and I lately. So see I'm going with my darker shade around the outer perimeters because I like to do that lighter shade in the middle and even when I'm in a hurry and just getting ready quickly for the beauty bar I still like to do two shades it doesn't take extra time because I'm covering my whole face with a foundation right so two shades or one shade takes the same amount of time and you got to figure too it costs the same because you're getting twice the amount of product so don't feel like I got to spend double for two foundations because it's going to last twice as long but anyway I just want to encourage you even if the Balancer Pro lymphatic drainage maybe that's not something you do maybe that's not something you're interested in but I just want to tell you like don't just accept you know feeling horrible um I just know that God has a lot more for me to do in this world and do it effectively and not in just constantly just feeling like crap like I had been for so long and I know that's the case for a lot of us but I just I want to encourage you I really want to encourage you to not feel like it's too late little choices little changes little things like we talked about one of my last videos just getting up and getting showered and getting your makeup on sometimes is all we can do to make ourselves feel better but sometimes that's that's all we need and if that's all you can do friend then that's okay but yeah it was it was quite an experience for me so quite a journey I'm on here all right I like my foundation it's looking good I've just been grabbing it off the back of my hand super quick and especially if you're not telling a big long emotional story like I just was sorry guys I'm breakdown queen today geez it's just it's very exciting so anyway I'm gonna go ahead and do a little powder and head into some bronzer all right I just have my powder here not a whole lot just to dry down that foundation because I'll hop into some powder bronzer now sometimes I will sculpt in the bronzer you guys know that but today I'm just going to use my same powder brush just to do a soft sculpt because you know I got to get ready I'm in a little bit of a hurry and it's not a full glam kind of day you know I just I really wanted to do a simple get ready with me video for you so that you could see some of my favorite quick techniques I like to do when I've got to look good but not a full glam good all right so just taking my bronzer and this is actually something you could use as a contour powder as well but just sculpting the outer perimeters of my face a little bit and adding a shadow on my turkey gobbler neck oh my gosh one of my best friends just went and got a facelift and she went to Mexico because I am on the border of California and Mexico here where I live in Arizona so she crossed over to Mex because we all know it's a little bit more affordable over there and she's only like a week in so she's still pretty swollen so needless to say she came in to use the balancer pro as well because she's post-op and so far so good she really loved it she's feeling amazing I'm gonna bronze up the sides of my nose a little bit and I'm really excited to see her get some good results and apparently it promotes some healing as well like post-op stuff it just will help kick your cells into gear I guess I don't know all the technical terms yet I'm kind of like that with my business I just jump in right I just I start before I'm ready that's kind of the way I roll all right now guys I want to show you something in my palette I've been using look at that blush I know it's crazy but you may have seen me use it a couple of other times I've used it on Instagram I think a few times but if you just give it a slight tap so you could barely even see the difference on the brush it's really pretty you guys should try a red blush it actually actually looks like you're blushing and it's actually can be very subtle and look I'm still putting on with that fat powder brush you can use a blush brush of course just you know when I'm saving time and kind of you know in my own groove I tend to use the brush this one brush for all three of these steps because why not right a little bit more back here towards my hairline I always like my blush darker at the hairline and fade toward the nose god do you remember the 80s when the blush was right here like and oh like punk rock yeah buddy they would put those stinking stripes of blush right here I remember one time taking a lipstick and just going and having a stripe of lipstick and then I didn't blend it in and that was my look it was yeah I was ready to go roller skating I know I talk about roller skating a lot on this channel but god I can feel it like being on the rink can you feel it with me and I can hear look out weekend cause here I come because weekends were made for fun and there I am roller skating and also looking like a maniac you guys know there's windows over there can you imagine if you walked by and saw me doing this in the studio hilarious all right let's get to some eyeshadow we got to get this lip cracking all right I've got a good neutral eyeshadow palette which especially with the red blush I do like to do a neutral eye so I will hop in with the cream shade right on the bottom now remember I said I was gonna pop the eyes and I'm actually gonna show you a way to make your eyes look bigger and especially if you're like me and you've got hooded lids which is hilarious because you can see I have a hooded lid not severe I'm not saying my lids are hanging down to my kneecaps but I got a little bit of a hooded lid here enough that you know I care and I'm going to show you a trick for hooded lids whether I have hooded lids or not I could show you something but so many people will say in the comments Jackie you don't have a hooded lid I should know what a hooded lid is and I'm just like okay but I do it's funny all right now I'm going to use that acorn color it's a really neutral brown I'm going to use it right in my crease it's kind of a gray brown actually but again I just wanted to stay kind of neutral bringing it up towards my brow now for a hooded lid I am stamping a little bit more right here see how I'm bringing it up towards the brow all right I'm bringing it out too far but that's okay because we're going to clean it up with some concealer and bring it up and out okay bring it up higher than you think because it will disappear in your little tiny crease if you don't bring it up and then transition it out don't leave like this defined sort of like line right here get it to transition really nice and smoky and this is way far out of you know that's out of control it's not you're out of control but you know it's okay like I said we're going to clean it up this full courtroom's out of order I don't even know what movie that's from do you guys know I feel like Jack Nicholson was yelling it for some reason I see Tom Cruise there too but I could be totally wrong I have swapped over to the darker shade of brown and I am still using the same brush check me out so far I have just used three brushes foundation that powder brush and this eyeshadow brush but I've used it for all these steps now I'm taking that dark brown eyeshadow and I am plopping it right in my crease and I am bringing it out pretty far and see how it's a pretty gray brown as well you know it's very neutral do the same over here and then I will pop a little bit of shimmer on the inner corner if I will okay the shimmer is coming in right in the middle just with my ring finger I really like this shimmer because it pops nice it's a really smooth texture to it it's not like the gritty chunky glitter it just catches light really pretty and this palette I just put together I chose these colors myself I love it and this is a limelight palette I will go ahead and put a bag with this particular quad in it so the link will be in the description so if you love these four shades together and you've been looking for a good neutral brown instead of a real like warm orangey brown these will definitely be your friend and a good clean formula too you guys remember that's pretty important to me so you can trust that these aren't going to have a bunch of toxins in them I'm going to take my little Real Techniques smudger and grab that dark brown and put it right underneath now I know this month limelife has put together a couple more quads and one has a really weird like red raspberry eyeshadow in it I have not tried it and I have not been a fan of the red eyeshadow trend it makes me feel like you look like you're in the 80s and maybe you're on drugs and awake for days it's not a good look but I saw a couple of my friends use it and they looked really cute so I went ahead and ordered it and when it gets here I'm gonna try it for y'all and we can decide together if we like it or if we don't need that kind of flashback to the 80s in our life all right I'm taking some of that dark brown I'm just gonna make sure it's on my upper lid at the lash line it makes eyeliner application much better or easier I should say all right and I feel like this one needs to be blended out a little bit better than that one and of course I don't have my my favorite magnifying mirror today but that's okay I think I'm doing all right and you know what I'm just using a regular mirror today not magnified but I feel like I'm looking good so I'm not gonna ruin it by judging myself in a magnifying mirror you know how I feel about that all right I'm gonna take a brown eyeliner and this one's just really soft and very forgiving I almost tried to look in my eyeshadow palette forgetting there's not a mirror this one's just a really soft formula so I don't have to fight with it too much and just drag it right across my lash line I'm not trying to do a wing today there's no sense in the wing today oh my gosh you guys I'm going to a convention soon a beauty convention in Scottsdale Arizona I'm taking my daughter we're gonna have a lot of fun but it's already on like the trying to find the outfits and worrying about my weight and all those dumb things we do so just trying to be gentle with myself because you know I think that we are way too judgy on ourselves well sometimes even on each other just too judgy all right I'm gonna take this eyeshadow right here in that neutral that like grayish brown and I'm gonna use it on my brows but yeah so started trying to find outfits it's difficult though I mean I know you guys probably feel like that too just you feel like nothing looks right and you don't like anything like when I shop I'm like anything I do like I know is made for a skinny like 35 year old I'm like no it's hard to shop huh all right I'm gonna finish up my eyebrows I'll be right back all right brows done lift and lengthen Lenny for the win today I've been obsessed with this mascara for a while and you know I swap around a lot I have several that are my favorites but this is good at separating and lengthening I guess you know like the name would suggest um this is a great smudge proof one too if you want to give it a try I am going to put the link in the description for you so you'll see it below all you have to do is click and grab it but this one's really good check it out I'm going all the way to the root and now hitting the tip okay quick tip with mascara swirling it around and I try to get like every last bit on this wand and this is that silicone one that I really like because you can really get some good lift so I go all the way to the root and pull to the tip then I'll go ahead and get some more on the tip and then start at the roots again just working that product around you can feel it's still kind of wet and then once you feel it drying a little bit you know you can feel it start pulling a little on the silicone wand then you can begin really concentrating on the lift part right now just trying to pile a bunch of product on there there we go oh you guys you know something else that's coming is um hair um hairline touch-up powder I just got some and I tried a little bit today I don't know if you guys have ever noticed I have a weird cyst right here on my head it's been there forever it's no big deal um but it bothers me since my hair has started thinning so bad it bothers me if it's like poking out when I wear my hair up so I tried some hair powder just on that today I didn't have time to like do a full review so I didn't want to get into it but I mean so far it's a lot less obvious so that's exciting so I'll be sharing that with you in the next video I got several shades of it so I'll be doing like a full review so I hope you catch that video if you're interested in some hair powder all right now I've got a good amount on both so I'm going to go in for the lift and I do put mascara on bottom as well sometimes that requires the craziest face ever right all right I like it a lot I do look at those lashes this is a really good mascara this is worth having you guys definitely and you know like I said I swap around a lot it's okay to not have a favorite that you use every single day but man I really when I pop back to that one I'm like look at my eyes popping too that's pretty cool but now we're going to do some concealer and clean up all this crazy jazz remember I got a little out of control over there let me grab a concealer okay I see a lot of makeup artists and young women using brushes like this for concealer because they want to make like this big thing and they really cut the concealer in and they do the brows and all this stuff I like fluffy concealer brushes you guys you know that I use big stuff for big stuff I use big ones for concealer like I think this is even an eyeshadow brush from Real Techniques but I like how fluffy it is for under the eyes this one this is a complexion brush by Limelife it's huge you could put foundation and bronzer on or contour but I like it under the eyes because I like a good diffused look to my concealer so that's why I say like don't use those tiny flat brushes all right I'm gonna use my Limelife concealer I'm gonna use a little bit more than I normally do did you see me really get in there the second round I was like never mind let's get it um I want a good amount because I do need to do a little bit of cleanup on the outer corner where I got a little crazy yeah there we go so some days it calls for a little more concealer than maybe you would have expected but don't be afraid of it with this Limelife concealer you guys know I've been using it for like five months you guys know you can trust it it's a good one and you know in reality I don't think I put that much my favorite part of concealer and now I'm just softening up that eyeshadow underneath making sure it's nice and diffused and smoky all the things can you believe that red blush is just there like living its best life not being intrusive or scary like you would have thought if you saw it in the palette but one of my favorite things about it is that I can deepen it up if I've got a client who has really deep rich skin tone um it works on everyone but even on my daughter who's so dang sometimes I tell her she's she's see-through let's get to lips all right you guys I have to have my glasses on because I do not have the right magnifying mirror so please excuse the glare oh I still look good I thought maybe when I got my glasses on I'd be like that was a little much but no I look all right okay I've got my mauve lip liner start in the middle and I do the cupid's bow oh my gosh you guys there was a lady on Instagram who tore me up she was all kinds of mad at me because I said I was doing the cupid's bow there was a clip of my long video on Instagram and I said I'm right now I'm doing my cupid's bow and she said cupid's bow is not rounded it's pointed I didn't say you should make it round I just said I'm doing my cupid's bow and I said okay thanks for the tip like I didn't know what else to say right and I thought well maybe she's not being rude I don't want to take it that way I said thanks for the tip and then she commented back and said it's not a tip it's a fact and I should know I've had a cupid's bow for 82 years I was like okay I didn't even know I was like all right and she said it like in caps with four exclamation points at that point I was like okay we're gonna move along all right now I'm doing the mauve and remember I told you this is the one that my daughter does not like on me she says it's too light but I really like it on busy days you know because it's very low maintenance if I have a like a red or something it's really high maintenance and this one the red aspen liners that I love you guys and some of the lime life ones too they don't move like they are just so stay put so I know I'm not going to have to touch that up so I'm pretty happy with that one but I do want to use a nude lipstick let me find the perfect lipstick just like that I changed my mind and I went for pink now this one is called pink the perfect fit it's by Jaffa Cosmetics and I have used Jaffa for a long time my grandma used to use it when I was little but I really love that matte pink lipstick not because it's matte though I like the color of pink that it is but I'm going to gloss it I'm not a fan of a matte lip on myself and so that's just a nice pinky sort of clear lip gloss I'm going to go back to my lip liner and I just bring it all together and now I feel like just because of the weather and just a lot of stuff going on lately I feel like my skin is just a little dull not any big deal but it is going to dictate the setting spray that I use and I'm going to use the milk setting spray I've used quite a few times lately because don't forget to shake it either because man does it give a really beautiful dewy finish I could definitely probably put a little highlighter on my cheeks and nose too but I think this is a good look this is a great like oh I upscaled the eyes a little bit remember I told you I really wanted to pop my eye color and I feel like it looks you know like I'm a makeup artist maybe maybe I know something about makeup but also not overdone where you know I'm kind of might look out of place if I was wearing like this kind of scrub ish top and doing the balancer pro instead of makeup today I'm not quite sure what to do about this hair though it has gotten so soft I started using a hair serum on my scalp and on my roots and it really makes like my hair at my roots really soft and so it just doesn't stick out like it used to and I grabbed a little bit of hairspray probably will just style with my fingers I did have to put a little bit of dry shampoo in too just to get some stinking volume and body in my hair it was just there like living its best soft life we don't have time for this all right teeth check oh my lord I love this look and I don't feel like it was really difficult so I hope you guys enjoyed it I hope you give some of these shades and tips a try try that neutral brown and um you know try using your big fat brush to do some
