This video demonstrates how to transform affordable Dollar Tree items into high-end home decor. The creator shares three DIY projects—pedestal bowls, geometric wall art, and a sculptural vase—using simple materials like plastic bowls, shower curtain rings, and spray paint to achieve a designer aesthetic.
There's just something about taking the simplest Dollar Tree items and turning them into something
that feels high-end and intentional. Today, I'm sharing three easy DIYs using bowls and
shower curtain rings. And by the time you see the last one, you'll understand why these are
about to be everywhere. So let's get right into it. I am starting off with these chrome silver
square bowls from Dollar Tree. And when I say these are popular, I mean they are always sold
out at my Dollar Tree. I picked them up in three different sizes, the big, the bigger and the
biggest. And just wait till you see what they turn into. First thing I did was peel off the labels
and give them a quick wipe down to make sure the surface was nice and clean. Alright,
you always want to do this step so your glue and paint actually stick properly. I then took
the smallest bowl and flipped the largest one upside down. And using hot glue, I attached the small
bowl right to the bottom, just like you can see me do. This instantly creates that elevated pedestal
look. Press down and let it bond together and then you can set that aside. I repeated the same exact
same process with the medium size as well. So now we have three different pedestal bases
and already you can start to see the vision coming together. Look at that. What I love about this is
how simple it is but it looks like something you would easily find in a high-end home decor store.
Next, I moved on to painting and this is where everything really comes to life. I spray painted
the inside of two of them in a matte black for that modern high-end feel and then I did one in
gold to give it that luxe contrast. You can also keep it as is. For the inside, I switched things up.
One got a gold interior, one stayed the original chrome silver which is already stunning and the
last one I kept black on the inside to give it that bold dramatic look. And that's it. That mix
of finishes is what really makes this feel designer. It's not all the same but it's also
intentional. Alright, so once everything was dry as you can see, I sealed them just to protect the
finish and give them that smooth polished look and that is about it. Super simple
but the result looks completely different. I placed them on my coffee table as a statement piece
and they instantly elevated the entire space. You can also style this with decorative beads, candles
or even leave them empty because they're that beautiful on their own. I left mine empty. These
will also look amazing on a console table, in an entryway, styled on an open shelving or even as a
centerpiece for your dining table. That's up to you. This is one of those DIYs that is easy to make
and looks like you spent a lot more than you actually did. What do you think? For this next
project, I grabbed a bunch of shower curtain rings from Dollar Tree. And when I say a bunch, I meant
a lot. This project uses 80 rings in total. That is about seven packs. I started by pairing
them two at a time and using hot glue to attach them together. Now, a quick tip here is don't glue
them directly at the opening. You want to glue them just above where the rings close so
everything sits evenly and looks seamless. And if you want something more permanent, you can
definitely use Gorilla glue or A6000 glue for a stronger hold. But hot glue works perfectly fine
if you're just styling it indoors. Also, hot glue works very well together with plastic which is why
I'm sticking with just hot glue for this project. I repeated this process until I had 40 pairs
which gives you 80 rings in total. And I know that sounds like a lot but trust me,
the end result is so worth it. If you want a bigger size, just add more rings to it and just
keep gluing more pairs until you're satisfied. That is up to you. Dollar Tree actually has these
rings in two designs. You can see one is plain and the other one is actually ribbed. So I kind of
made sure to glue them in the same design. So two plain ones, two ribbed ones and so on and so forth.
That is because I didn't have enough of the plain ones. I would have preferred just the plain ones.
So I had to just mix them together but it still turned out perfectly okay. Alright, so I decided
to go with a rectangular layout. Alright, so it will be five pairs across and four pairs down.
But you can absolutely customize this depending on your wall space. Once all my pairs were ready,
I laid everything out on the surface first. As you can see, making sure that the closings
actually are pointing at each other forming this, you know, diamond shape across. This step is
important because you want to visualize your design before committing to it. Okay, because
once you have it glued with hot glue or any adhesive, there is little to no room for
errors here because you cannot really correct it without breaking the curling rings. Okay,
once that was set, I started connecting each pair together
row by row until everything formed one large statement piece. At this point, it already starts
looking like something. Alright, but we're about to take it to the next level. Take your time here
guys. No rush. Just make sure that the closings actually do face each other because we have
another plan for that as you would see as this video progresses. So just put enough hot glue
to actually have them adhere, making sure that it is not overflowing. Okay, so you can see our frame
is looking pretty good at this point. I will go ahead and complete this for the rest of our rings.
Just watch a second, complete this. Alright, so another point to note here is that if you were to
use A6000 glue or Gorilla glue, you will have to leave this overnight for this to properly cure.
But with hot glue, it is an instant hold but make sure to wipe off any hot glue web that will
actually form when you're gluing this together. Just clean this properly before you move on to
the next step. Alright, so next, I took the entire piece outside and spray painted it in matte black.
You can paint this in any color of your choosing. Okay, this instantly gives it that modern high-end
almost designer wall art feel except it still looks unfinished. Okay, with the curtain rings closing
still showing. Well, now this next step is what makes all the difference. I used these
two-inch round gold mirrors and placed them right over the areas where the rings close.
These are a peel and stick which you can use by themselves or you can actually add extra glue
for a stronger hold. I got these mirrors from Amazon and I have it linked in the description box
below under my Amazon storefront. Not only does this hide the seams but it adds that perfect pop
of gold that makes the entire piece feel intentional and alleviated. That is what I love about black
and gold. It is timeless and of course you already know on this channel, I do use a lot of these
because it does match my home decor style. Quick tip here, leave the protective film on the mirrors
while placing them so you don't have or get to have fingerprints and then you can peel it off
at the very end. That way you don't have to worry about wiping it down again over and over.
And once everything was done, this is how it turned out. Clean, modern and structured. I love it.
What do you think? Alright guys, so word of the day today is reimagined because everything in
this video started off as something simple and we completely reimagined it into something you'd
actually want to display in your home. So I would love it if you can comment reimagined down below
and show your girls some love. Okay moving on, I started this wall art right above my sofa
as a statement wall piece and it completely transformed the space. But you can also style
this in many different ways in your home. And because of the black and gold combination,
it blends beautifully with neutral, modern or glam decor styles. Again, you can make yours
way bigger than this and to be honest, the bigger the better. Do let me know in the comments
section what you think about this particular project. So for this project, I grabbed two large
plastic bowls from Dollar Tree and we're about to completely reimagine them. That is our theme
for today's video. Using a hot knife, I carefully cut out the bottom of one of the bowls. I had used
my hot glue to actually drilling a hole to make it easy for me to start cutting it out.
As you can see, if you do not have a hot knife, you can absolutely use an electric
plastic cutter or even a very sharp blade. Just take your time with it and also be careful.
Next, I brought both bowls together and glued them at the opening using hot glue to create
this imperfect round globe shape. Once again, I'm using hot glue here because this hot glue
and plastic do bind well together but you can also use a 6000 glue or gorilla glue
if you want to. And hey, don't worry about it being perfectly even because that slightly
imperfect shape is actually what gives it that organic high-end look. Already at this stage,
you can start to see something different happening. And now to give it that elevated look,
I took one of the square bowls we used in the first DIY and glued it right at the bottom to
create a pedestal base. And this is what actually transforms it from just a bowl into a statement
piece. You can already see it coming together. I love it. Okay, so next, I mix baking soda and
acrylic paint to create a thick textured consistency. So this is way thicker than the
regular one I would normally use when I'm just doing overall painting. But with this, I just
want to create texture over our vase and not actually paint it. Okay, I then used a sponge
brush to dab it all over the entire surface. While doing this, don't worry if some of the
original colors still shows through at first. Okay, we will fix that as the video progresses.
Just keep watching. Also, that layered uneven look actually adds to the texture. Alright,
you want it to feel organic and not perfect. Alright, so I kept doing that until I was
satisfied. I did a second coat to add more texture. You can do up to three or four. That
is all up to you. Personal preference here, guys. Just make sure your vase has enough texture on it.
You can see it coming through. There we have it. So I set this aside to dry.
And once everything was fully covered and dry, I went in with this white spray paint to give it
that soft, clean finish. You can also paint the inside if you want a more finished look.
But I kept mine simple. To finish it off, I added these embellishments from Dollar Tree right
around the middle where the bowls connect. This does not only hide the seam, but it also adds
a subtle decorative detail that makes the whole piece feel more intentional. Okay? Alright,
so I used hot glue to do this. And once again, you can use any other stronger adhesive of your
choosing. And hey guys, even though I've spray painted this or painted this white, you can also
make this whatever color you want. Alright, this is just personal preference. I'm just showing you
options here or possibilities. And that is it. This is how it turned out. Soft, textured,
sculptural. And honestly, it looks like a designer vase. To style it, I placed a smaller vase inside
and added pampas stems for that soft, neutral look. I also tried it with some faux flowers.
And you could also use faux greenery, fresh flowers, or even leave it empty as a sculptural
decor piece. I started mine next to my sofa for a cozy high-end feel. But this will also look
beautiful on an entryway console table, coffee table. That is up to you. And the crazy part,
this started as two plastic bowls from Dollar Tree. Well guys, that brings us to the end of
today's video. Everything in this video was completely reimagined. But I need to know,
