Looking for antique bargains in a local Scottish charity shop

Hi everyone, happy Tuesday. So I hope you've had a great start to the week.
And today's video, I'm going down Dunder Street as you can see, just showing you the nice art
galleries on the way. Now these are actual galleries where you can purchase the artwork.
So they're not cheap, but they have very good fine art. Hi everyone, that's me again,
in case you forgot what I look like. Anyway, so this is on Northumberland Street on the way down
to the Bethany store. So that's basically what this video is about. I'm going down to the Bethany
store because if you watched from Sunday's video, it was unfortunately shut and it's always shut
on a Sunday. So, but the, all the other stores are open just so you know, if you do visit Edinburgh
in Stockbridge, the charity shops are all open on a Sunday and obviously the market that's there.
So as you can see, it's a beautiful sunny day today with a little bit of a breeze,
which is perfect, perfect weather. So I thought I'd just head down because you can never tell
what I might've put in. So here we go. So this is the, the front of the Bethany store
and just look in the windows first on the left side, obviously, and then I'll go over to the
right side. Now the right side tends to have all the better antique type bits. So that's my
favourite window to get into or have a look at rather than get into, but you know what I mean?
So yeah, it's great. I mean, it's still early days. We've still got, I've only just started
with this YouTube channel. It's about what, seven or eight months now old and I've got the hang of
this. And like I said, there's going to be tons of videos. I'm just glad I can show everyone what
I find and also for what you can look out for. And obviously tips, how things do, how they sell,
what to look out for. So yeah. And I'm just happy that there's more people joining this,
this channel and it's growing. This community is growing and we can all learn from them. You know,
I'm still learning all the time and people very kind of you to give me some tips as well
on certain things. But anyway, here we go. We're inside the store.
Here's a nice chest of drawers and a nice fire screen. And over on behind the till is where they
have the paintings and pictures. And I spotted this painting, this oil painting. So I asked to
have a closer look at it. And here we go. So it appears to be oil on board. You can see the price
30 pounds. It's quite a nice scene. I'm not sure. I think it could be Scottish. It is signed in the
bottom. You can see the frames a bit rough, but again, if it's Victorian, you'll find that.
And there's a nice Victorian portrait of a lady. I don't tend to collect portraits of people. I
know some people do, but I don't unless it's family members pictures. But anyway,
I guess if you want to have like a Harry Potter type effect, you know, with all the different,
it's one way to do it, but they've got all the different portraits of people.
I know one of my neighbors, he actually collected a whole bunch of paintings. He would get quite
cheap at the auctions and pretended they were family members. So anyway, that's another story.
So here's a huge dinner set. I mean, look at it. It's massive. And from what I saw,
I think it was 30 pounds of pile of plates. So if you like them and you're living in the area,
pop down and get them. Because like I say, there's people watching these videos and they're
buying up these things that they see from my videos, which is great for the charity shops.
And yeah, um, just showing you around, just looking in the cabinets. Um, if there's anything
new that's been put in a later in the week, I'll go to the other charity shops. Cause I was there
on Sunday, but like I say, every day they're getting stuff donated and they're putting things
in. So that'll be another video to come shortly in the next video. I'm going to show some items
that sold what I paid for them and basically what they sold for on eBay. So again, it's another tip
what to look out for and what to buy at markets. So here's a nice, um, this seems to be an old
print at the bottom. That's a Gloucester. So obviously Gloucester down in England,
some churches and possibly cathedrals. Here's a modern chessboard table. So that's pretty cool.
Again, just looking on the walls, any paintings or prints I might've put out because I did put
things in today. So that painting that actually hit that, that one of the nice scene, the little
house, it's actually only put in today. So it just goes to show now just looking on the right
hand glass cabinet. So this video is basically just about this store. I didn't carry on. Um,
I've been so busy since I got back from Spain, the mountain of items to restore and clean and fix.
And, um, yeah, I've been pretty tired. It's still recovering from my chest infection. Um,
feeling a lot better. Thank you everyone for asking. And, um, yeah, the show just must go on
and that's it for the Bethany store. I hope you've enjoyed this short video
and please subscribe if you haven't. And yeah, till next time. Thanks again for watching.
